You may be able to watch Xfinity Stream on a Hisense TV, but Xfinity does not list Hisense among its supported native TV app platforms. Check the app store on your exact TV; if Xfinity Stream is not offered, use a compatible Roku or Chromecast with Google TV connected over HDMI. Casting to built-in Chromecast or using AirPlay may work on some models, but neither route is guaranteed for every Hisense TV.
Can you download Xfinity Stream on a Hisense TV?
Possibly, but availability depends on the specific TV model and its operating system. Xfinity’s supported TV-platform list names Fire TV, Apple TV, LG, Roku, Samsung, and Xumo, but not Hisense. Check your Hisense TV’s app store for Xfinity Stream before trying to install it. If it is not listed for your model, use an external streaming device or a compatible casting option instead.
Xfinity says Stream is included with Xfinity service at no additional charge. You can sign in with an Xfinity ID, but the channels and programs available depend on your subscription. The full TV lineup and full On Demand library require your in-home Xfinity network; watching away from home may use internet or cellular data. See Xfinity’s device and service information.

| Option | Use it when | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Hisense app store | Xfinity Stream is listed for your exact TV | Confirm the app is available for your model; Xfinity does not list Hisense as a supported native TV platform. |
| Roku over HDMI | You want a documented TV app and activation process | Use an eligible Roku device with firmware 11.0 or later. |
| Chromecast with Google TV over HDMI | You want a supported external Chromecast receiver | Xfinity identifies the 4K and HD versions as fully supported; connect the sender and receiver to the same Wi-Fi. |
| Hisense’s embedded Chromecast | Your TV exposes a Chromecast receiver | Compatibility and performance vary by manufacturer, according to Xfinity. |
| AirPlay | You have an iPhone or iPad and a Hisense model with AirPlay | Verify AirPlay support on your exact TV and meet the app and iOS requirements. |
For an external player, check that your TV has an available HDMI port. An external Chromecast also requires an HDMI port supporting at least HDCP 1.3. Xfinity’s current device requirements, Roku activation instructions, and Chromecast guidance are useful to check before setup.

Install and activate Xfinity Stream on Roku
- Connect an eligible Roku to an HDMI port on the Hisense TV and complete Roku setup.
- Update the Roku to firmware version 11.0 or later. Xfinity says the Stream app appears in the Roku Channel Store only on eligible devices.
- In the Roku Channel Store, find and open Xfinity Stream, then select Sign In.
- On a phone, tablet, or computer, open xfinity.com/authorize and enter the six-digit activation code displayed on the TV.
- Sign in with your Xfinity ID. On the TV, accept the activation terms, name the device, and confirm.
If activation says the device can only access Stream on in-home Wi-Fi and your account has multiple linked Xfinity accounts, set the account you want to use as the primary account in linked-account settings.
Cast Xfinity Stream to a Hisense TV
Try the TV’s built-in Chromecast
This may work if your Hisense TV has an embedded Chromecast receiver, but Xfinity warns that support and performance vary by manufacturer. Sign in to Xfinity Stream on a supported phone or tablet, or use the Stream portal. Put the sending device and TV on the same Wi-Fi network, tap the Cast icon, select the TV, and start a program.

If the TV does not appear as a cast target, shows an unsupported-device message, or remains on “Ready to Cast,” the built-in receiver may not work with Stream. Use a fully supported external Chromecast instead. Xfinity identifies Chromecast with Google TV 4K and HD, as well as Chromecast Ultra, as fully supported Chromecast devices.
Use an external Chromecast
Connect the Chromecast to the Hisense TV’s HDMI port, complete its setup, and make sure it and the phone, tablet, or computer sending the program are on the same Wi-Fi network. Then open Xfinity Stream, select the Cast icon, choose the Chromecast, and play a program. The external device’s HDMI connection must support HDCP 1.3 or later.

- Connect the iPhone or iPad and TV to the same local network, and allow Xfinity Stream to access the local network if prompted.
- Open Xfinity Stream and tap the cast icon.
- Select AirPlay and Bluetooth Devices, then choose the TV.
- Enter the four-digit code shown on the TV if prompted.
See Xfinity’s AirPlay instructions and check your TV’s documentation to confirm that your model supports AirPlay.

If Xfinity Stream is not working
- The app is missing from the Hisense app store: Xfinity does not list Hisense among its supported native TV platforms. Use an eligible Roku or supported external Chromecast over HDMI.
- The Roku app is missing: Check that your Roku is eligible and has firmware 11.0 or later.
- Roku activation does not complete: Re-enter the code at xfinity.com/authorize. If the account message limits access to in-home Wi-Fi and you have multiple linked accounts, check which account is set as primary.
- The TV does not appear when casting: Make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi. If the TV’s embedded Chromecast is unsupported or hangs at “Ready to Cast,” try a fully supported external Chromecast.
- Some channels or programs are unavailable: Available content depends on your Xfinity service, and the full TV lineup and full On Demand library require the in-home Xfinity network.
