There is no single sheet size that fits every pull-out couch. Measure the mattress itself—length, width and thickness—then match those measurements to a fitted sheet’s dimensions and pocket depth. “Twin,” “full” or “queen” on a sofa-bed label is only a starting point: sleeper mattresses can differ from standard bedroom sizes.
Measure the pull-out mattress, not the sofa
Open the bed so you can reach the mattress, then measure the sleeping surface from edge to edge. The sofa’s outside dimensions do not tell you what size fitted sheet to buy.
- Measure length: Measure from the head end to the foot end of the mattress.
- Measure width: Measure across the mattress from side to side.
- Measure thickness: Measure from the bottom of the mattress to its top surface. This helps you choose a fitted sheet with a suitable pocket depth.
- Record the units: Note whether you measured in inches or centimetres, and use the same units when comparing products.
If the manufacturer’s model page or manual lists the sleeping-surface dimensions, use those figures as a reference and check that they match the mattress you have. If they are unavailable, measure the exposed mattress yourself.

Why “twin,” “full” and “queen” are not enough
Sofa-bed guides publish different example dimensions for the same size labels, and there is no globally applicable sofa-bed sheet-sizing chart established by the sources cited here. A size name can help you narrow a search, but compare the numeric dimensions before buying.

These are examples from individual guides, not a universal sizing standard. Their differing figures are a reason to rely on your mattress measurements rather than assuming a label maps neatly to a regular bedroom mattress.
Match the sheet’s dimensions and pocket depth
Compare the mattress’s length and width with the fitted sheet’s listed dimensions. Then check the sheet’s pocket depth or maximum mattress thickness against your mattress thickness. A pocket that is much deeper than the mattress may leave excess fabric, while a sheet that cannot accommodate the mattress depth may not fit properly.

If a listing gives only a size label, look for the numeric measurements before ordering. When shopping, search for a “sofa-bed fitted sheet” or “sleeper-sofa fitted sheet,” or choose a regular sheet only if its listed dimensions and pocket depth suit the measured mattress.
