If you mean the article-style Google Discover feed, Google’s documented customization controls are for the Google app or browsing on a phone—not Chrome on a desktop. On a computer, you can customize Chrome’s New Tab page shortcuts, appearance, and some cards. Google says, “Suggested articles don’t appear on your homepage on your computer.”
First identify which page you mean: Chrome’s New Tab page, the Google homepage, or Discover. They have different controls.
How do I customize the Google feed on my desktop?
If you are looking for a personalized stream of suggested articles, the official guidance reviewed here describes Discover controls in the Google app or while browsing on a phone. It does not provide a desktop procedure for customizing a Discover feed. Chrome’s desktop help instead explains how to adjust its New Tab page.

How do I change what shows on my Chrome New Tab page?
Open Chrome and open a New Tab page, then select Customize Chrome in the bottom-right area. To use the customization options described in Chrome Help, you must be signed in to a Google Account and have Google set as your default search engine.
Choose or hide shortcuts
- On the New Tab page, select Customize Chrome.
- Under Shortcuts, choose My shortcuts to use shortcuts you manage, or Most visited sites to show frequently visited sites.
- Turn shortcuts off if you do not want shortcut tiles on the page.
- To change an individual tile, open its More menu to edit or remove it.
Change the page’s appearance
- Open Customize Chrome on a New Tab page.
- Open Appearance.
- Choose a theme or upload a background, adjust the browser color, or set dark mode.
Hide a particular card
If a Chrome card appears on the New Tab page and you do not want it, open that card’s More menu and choose the hide option when available. Cards can include information such as browsing-resumption content; this is separate from a Discover article feed.

Can I customize Google Discover on a computer?
The official Google guidance reviewed here explains Discover personalization in the Google app and on a phone. It does not document equivalent desktop controls. Chrome’s desktop help says suggested articles do not appear on the computer homepage, so changing New Tab shortcuts or appearance will not personalize a desktop article feed.
Where are the Discover controls on a phone?
Google app
In the Google app, the documented path to manage interests is Profile picture → Settings → Personalization → Manage your interests. From there, you can unfollow topics. Google also describes controls for saved history and personalized recommendations. Some features may not be available in every country or language.

Chrome on Android
On Android, Discover controls are available from the New Tab page’s customization menu. Google documents options to turn the feed on or off, manage followed interests, indicate that you do not want a topic or publisher, and manage personalization activity. These are Android instructions, not desktop Chrome settings.
