To make websites see a Palestinian IP address, install a VPN app that offers a Palestinian Territories server and connect to that server before you open the site. Proton VPN is the documented example: its Palestinian Territories servers require a paid plan. A .ps domain name does not do this job, because a domain name is not an IP address and does not change where your connection appears to come from.
What changes when you connect to a Palestinian server
A website identifies your connection by the IP address it receives. When you use a VPN, your traffic leaves through the VPN provider’s server, so the site sees that server’s address. The site then looks up that address in its own geolocation database to estimate a country or region.
Proton VPN states that a paid plan lets websites and online services see your connection as coming from the Palestinian Territories when you connect to one of its Palestinian Territories servers. That is the provider’s own claim. It is not an independent speed or accuracy test, and it does not guarantee how any particular website will classify the address.
Step-by-step: getting a Palestinian Territories address with Proton VPN
- Confirm the plan requirement. Proton’s provider page says free accounts can use international servers, but the Palestinian Territories location is available only on a paid plan. Check the current plan details on Proton’s site before you subscribe, because server locations and plan rules can change.
- Create an account and subscribe to a plan that includes the Palestinian Territories servers.
- Install the Proton VPN app on a supported platform. The provider lists macOS, Windows, iOS, Android, Linux and Chromebook.
- Sign in to the app with the account you subscribed with.
- Open the country or location list in the app and select “Palestinian Territories” or “Palestine,” depending on how the list labels it.
- Connect and confirm that the app shows an active connection to that location. Then reload any pages that were already open before you connected, since they may still hold a session from your earlier location.
Expected result: a site that relies on IP geolocation should see a Palestinian Territories address. Sites that run additional checks may still treat you differently, as described below.

Why a .ps domain does not give you a Palestinian IP address
The .ps suffix is the country code for Palestine, and the Palestinian Network Information Center (PNINA) administers it. A domain name, however, only maps to a web address; it does not determine where a visitor’s connection appears to originate. PNINA’s FAQ explains that a website run by a Palestinian company may still sit on an address block registered under an Israeli country code, and that country-based filtering may depend on that IP block rather than the domain suffix.
In practical terms, registering or owning a .ps domain does not change your own IP location, and a .ps name tells you nothing reliable about the address of a visitor.

Choose the goal before the method
“Palestinian IP address” can mean two different tasks. One is making websites see a Palestinian location. The other is getting working internet access while you are physically in Palestine. The methods differ.

|---|---|---|---|
| Websites see a Palestinian Territories address | VPN connected to a Palestinian Territories server | An apparent Palestinian Territories location for sites that use IP geolocation | Paid plan on Proton VPN; site-side checks and database differences can still produce other results |
| Working internet access while physically in Palestine | Local ISP, roaming SIM or eSIM, satellite, or local Wi-Fi | Actual connectivity where that service is available | The sources reviewed do not establish these as a way to obtain a Palestinian VPN exit address; availability and cost vary |
| A Palestinian web presence | Registering a .ps domain through PNINA | A .ps domain name | Not an IP address; it does not change your IP location |
The Palestinian Internet Exchange publishes a member list of Palestinian networks, which shows who operates network infrastructure. It does not explain how an individual user obtains a particular IP location.

Connectivity in Gaza
A 2025 report on Gaza’s telecommunications infrastructure from the Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute (PEPRI) describes geographic, cost, device-compatibility, infrastructure and regulatory constraints on connectivity options in Gaza. Those constraints affect whether alternatives to a VPN work at all, so readers there should not assume that a VPN location can be substituted for local service. Conditions may have changed since the report was published.
If a site still refuses access
- Reconnect to a Palestinian Territories server and confirm the app still shows that location. Some apps reconnect to a different server after a restart.
- Try another Palestinian Territories server if the app lists more than one.
- Log out and log back in to the site. Accounts can store earlier location or payment details.
- Expect database differences. Geolocation providers do not always agree, so a site may use a database that places the same address in a different country.
- Expect additional checks. Some sites verify accounts with phone numbers, billing addresses or activity history, which an IP location alone does not satisfy.
- Expect blocking of VPN addresses. Some sites block known VPN ranges outright, and no change of server can fix that.
Legal and privacy considerations
The sources reviewed for this guide do not provide a current, authoritative legal analysis of VPN use in the West Bank or Gaza. Check local rules and the terms of the sites you use before relying on a VPN for access.

A VPN routes your traffic through the provider, so you are trusting that provider with the traffic. Proton’s no-logs claim appears in the title of its Palestinian Territories page, but treat it as the provider’s statement. Read the privacy policy and look for independent audits before you rely on it.

Checklist before you choose a VPN for this
- Whether the Palestinian Territories location is currently listed in the app or on the provider’s site.
- Whether that location requires a paid plan. For Proton VPN, the provider’s page says it does.
- Which devices and operating systems the app supports.
- Whether the connection steps match the app you install.
- The privacy policy and whether independent audits exist.
- Connection reliability from your own location, which no provider page can establish for you.
- Refund terms, checked on the provider’s site.
Proton’s page documents the first three items and the app steps. The remaining items must be checked directly with the provider.
