OpenFate.ai’s free BaZi chart made many of its underlying structures visible in the chart reviewed by TechBullion, which helps readers inspect how the explanation relates to the reading. That visibility is useful, but it does not independently verify the chart’s calculations or show that BaZi interpretations are scientifically valid. The published hands-on test covered one existing-account profile and the free chart—not paid reports, follow-up chats, or every OpenFate feature.

What the hands-on OpenFate.ai review tested

A TechBullion article published September 28, 2026 reports that its reviewer used an existing account to create a profile and view OpenFate’s free BaZi chart. The profile details were February 3, 1998, at 3:00 p.m. in Brooklyn, New York, with Male selected. The review also examined the homepage, Western-chart entry flow, calculation documentation, privacy policy, and accessible pricing-page text. Because the session used an existing account, the steps and free access available to a new user may differ.

The reviewer did not independently recalculate the BaZi chart, verify a Western chart result, test paid reports, or try follow-up conversations. The article page displays both “By Victor Miller” and “By Jackson Ye,” so its byline does not clearly identify a single author. Read the TechBullion review.

Can you see the Four Pillars behind the reading?

In the chart recorded by the reviewer, OpenFate displayed the entered time of 15:00 and a True Solar Time of 14:50, alongside approximate Brooklyn coordinates of 40.65° N, 73.95° W. The chart showed the pillars Ding Chou, Gui Chou, Xin Si, and Yi Wei, identified Xin Metal as the Day Master, and displayed backward luck cycles with a luck-start time of November 7, 2007, at 02:00. These are observations from that one reviewed output, not independently recomputed results.

The reviewer reports that the chart also exposed hidden stems, element distributions, Ten Gods, branch interactions, luck cycles, annual timing sections, explanatory prose, and separate checks for framework, formation conditions, and disruption. The output reportedly included the caveat, “The absence of a blocker does not itself prove formation.” That wording is transcribed by the reviewer and has not been independently checked against the live interface.

This presentation makes the reading more inspectable: a user can see chart components alongside explanations that refer to them. OpenFate describes its approach as calculation-first on its homepage. Its BaZi methodology page describes rules and reproducible evidence, while its public BaZi engine repository describes deterministic calculation, explicit solar-term and True Solar Time handling, configurable day-boundary policy, and calendrical regression coverage. These are vendor-published descriptions, not independent certification of the live service or of BaZi interpretations.

Is OpenFate.ai accurate?

The available hands-on evidence does not establish that OpenFate’s chart is independently accurate: the reviewer did not recompute the result or compare it with a validated standard. Published methodology and an accessible engine can make some calculation rules easier to inspect, but determinism and transparency are not proof that a particular result is correct.

Accuracy also depends on what is meant by the term. A chart may consistently apply a stated calendrical convention, while claims about personality, life events, or future outcomes remain interpretations. BaZi readings and their numerical theme scores should not be treated as validated psychological assessments, measured probabilities, or reliable forecasts. The reviewed chart reportedly assigned a 62/100 wealth-theme score and described numeric scores as structural signals, not guaranteed events; the number is not an established probability or standardized measure.

Why calculators can disagree

A comparison published by competing calculator provider FateForge describes one June 15, 1990, 14:30 Ürümqi profile where OpenFate and other calculators differed on the hour pillar. FateForge attributes the difference in that case to location and timezone handling: it says OpenFate resolved the location using Asia/Urumqi (UTC+6), while other sites used UTC+8, leading to different solar-time adjustments. This is one competitor-published comparison, not proof that OpenFate is generally wrong. It does show why matching a chart across tools requires checking the selected birthplace, timezone convention, and any displayed time adjustment. See the FateForge comparison.

Is the OpenFate BaZi chart free?

The review reports that its reviewer generated the chart through a free route without making a purchase. Since the reviewer already had an account, this does not establish what a new account currently receives or whether access conditions have changed. Before starting, check what the live interface includes and whether it asks you to subscribe or buy credits.

What does OpenFate do with my birth data?

The TechBullion review says OpenFate’s privacy policy, dated August 2, 2026, describes collecting birth information, saved people, prompts, chats, reports, and account-related data. It also says the policy allows relevant information to be shared with AI service providers to generate responses and reports the company’s statement that it does not sell personal data. The review notes that AI Memory, marketing email, and public feedback publication were enabled by default, with settings described for review, disabling, or deletion.

These are descriptions of the published policy and settings, not an audit of security, actual retention, or whether deletion controls work end to end. Review the current privacy policy and account settings before entering sensitive personal details or personal stories.

How readable is the chart for beginners?

The reviewer found the result detailed but jargon-heavy. Chinese characters and abbreviations such as 7K, EG, IR, and IW appeared, and only part of the wide pillar table fit in the tested desktop view. Some annual advice reportedly repeated. The review also notes that one section emphasized strong execution and moving too fast while another described deep potential with slow action, without clearly explaining how those dimensions fit together.

That makes the chart a better fit for people already curious about BaZi or willing to learn its vocabulary than for readers seeking a short, jargon-free answer. Beginners who want to follow the terminology may find an introductory BaZi or Four Pillars book a useful companion; no particular book was tested or endorsed here.

Is OpenFate worth paying for?

The review did not test a paid report or follow-up chat, and it could not reliably capture current amounts or report-credit costs. It therefore cannot establish whether paid features are worth their price. The accessible pricing text reportedly said subscriptions renew automatically, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current cycle, one-time packs do not renew, and eligible refund requests have a seven-day window with exclusions. Check the current terms and checkout screen for the live price, renewal and cancellation rules, included usage, refund eligibility, and the specific report cost before buying.

Who should use OpenFate—and who should not?

OpenFate may suit BaZi-curious readers who want to examine chart components beside their explanations, or learners who can use a structured chart as a starting point for study. It is a weaker fit for anyone seeking a brief plain-language reading or a validated personality test. A detailed, confidently presented reading remains an interpretation; it is not evidence for consequential medical, financial, career, or relationship decisions.

If comparing chart tools, check the factors that can change both the result and the experience:

  • Whether the tool confirms the entered birth details and selected location.
  • Whether it discloses timezone conventions and solar-time adjustments.
  • Which chart structures are visible before payment.
  • How explanations connect to those visible structures.
  • Whether the terminology and layout are usable for a beginner.
  • What data the service collects and what controls it offers.
  • The current total cost, renewal terms, and cancellation process.

The single-profile comparison cited above illustrates the importance of time and location conventions; it does not establish a universal ranking of chart calculators.
