Pick the Google Pixel 10a if you want a smaller phone, Qi wireless charging and Google’s stated seven-year update commitment. Pick the realme 16 Pro+ if you want a larger, faster display, a dedicated telephoto camera, a much larger stated battery and faster wired charging. On price, Google launched the Pixel 10a in India at a starting price of ₹49,999, and an Amazon snapshot taken on October 7, 2026 showed the Pixel offer ₹2,314 below the realme offer. The comparison below rests on published specifications and that single price snapshot. Neither phone was tested hands-on for this article.
Price difference: what the figures actually show
Google’s India launch announcement, dated February 18, 2026, set the Pixel 10a’s starting price at ₹49,999, with sales beginning March 6. The launch post, written by Laura Kastilani, Product Manager, describes the phone this way:
“The new Pixel 10a packs core Pixel experiences into a sleek, durable design for just Rs 49,999.”

We could not establish an official Indian launch price for the realme 16 Pro+ from the sources used here, so the only like-for-like price point available is the observed retail offer on Amazon.

Three caveats matter here. The snapshot does not name the storage tier of either listing. The Pixel offer is also above its ₹49,999 launch starting price, which could reflect a larger storage variant, a seller’s pricing or a change over time; the source does not say which. Retail prices move daily, so treat the gap as a single moment rather than a fixed difference. Also note that these are Indian figures and do not describe prices elsewhere.

Pixel figures come from Google’s official hardware specifications. realme’s figures come from its Europe specifications page, which notes that SIM and eSIM details vary by region. Treat the realme column as the regional reference rather than a guarantee for the Indian model.

Size and display
The screens are the clearest physical difference. The Pixel 10a’s 6.3-inch panel suits one-hand use and pocket carry. The realme’s 6.8-inch panel gives roughly 8% more diagonal length and a higher refresh ceiling of 144Hz against the Pixel’s 120Hz. The realme’s 1280 × 2800 resolution is also higher; by simple arithmetic on the listed sizes, that works out to roughly 453 pixels per inch against roughly 421 for the Pixel. Those density figures describe sharpness on paper, not how the screens look in use.

Cameras: hardware differences, not image quality
The camera layouts differ in purpose more than in headline number. The realme 16 Pro+ adds a dedicated 50MP telephoto lens with optical image stabilisation, which the Pixel 10a does not have. That gives the realme a physical zoom option that the Pixel handles only through its main sensor and processing. The 200MP main sensor is a specification, and high megapixel counts do not by themselves show better photos, because the result depends on sensor size, processing and tuning.
The sources used here do not evaluate camera software or image output, so this comparison cannot say which phone takes better photos. If telephoto framing matters to you, the realme’s hardware is the differentiator; if you value a simpler camera setup, the Pixel’s two-lens rear system covers the common cases. The 13MP front camera on the Pixel is well below the realme’s 50MP, which matters most for video calls and selfies that need detail.

The realme’s stated battery figure is 7,000mAh typical-equivalent, against the Pixel 10a’s 5,100mAh typical rating. Those are manufacturer figures, and battery life depends on screen size, refresh rate and use. Because the realme has the larger screen, the battery gap alone does not show a like-for-like difference in endurance.

Charging is the more practical split. The realme’s up to 80W wired charging is far faster on paper than the Pixel’s 45W USB-C PPS support. Google’s stated figure is that a 45W PPS or higher charger brings the Pixel 10a to 50% in about 30 minutes, and that charger is sold separately, so budget for it if you do not already own one. The Pixel’s advantage is Qi wireless charging, which the sources used here do not establish for the realme.

Software and update support
Google’s commitment is the most concrete support claim in this comparison: seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drops updates for the Pixel 10a. The realme’s support period is less clear. realme’s regional specifications page lists realme UI 7.0, but the update durations come from a 91mobiles comparison, which reports three years of OS updates and four years of security updates. Before you buy, check realme’s current update policy for the Indian version of the phone, since the sources here do not confirm it.
Which phone fits which buyer
- Choose the Pixel 10a if you want a smaller, lighter phone, wireless charging, and a clearly stated seven-year update commitment from Google.
- Choose the realme 16 Pro+ if you want a larger, higher-refresh display, a telephoto lens, a bigger stated battery and much faster wired charging.
- Choose the Pixel if you buy at the lowest observed price and do not need the telephoto camera or fast charging.
- Choose the realme if the larger screen is a feature rather than a drawback and you plan to buy an 80W charger.
