The OPPO K13 5G is the stronger on-paper choice for display sharpness, wired charging speed, listed storage speed and weight. The Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G offers a larger screen and battery, reverse wired charging, microSD expansion and a longer stated software-support period. A current India price difference cannot be confirmed from the available official pricing: OPPO’s figures are launch prices from April 2025, while a comparable Redmi price was not stated on Xiaomi’s reviewed product page.

Which phone has the better display?
The OPPO K13 has the sharper stated display: its 6.67-inch panel is FHD+ AMOLED with a 1080 × 2400 resolution. The Redmi 17 5G has the larger display at 6.9 inches, but Xiaomi lists it as HD+. Both are specified for refresh rates up to 120Hz. Choose the OPPO if resolution and AMOLED are priorities; choose the Redmi if screen size matters more.
Battery and charging: capacity is not the whole story
Xiaomi lists a larger typical battery, 7,900mAh, compared with the OPPO’s 7,000mAh typical capacity and 6,820mAh rated capacity. OPPO lists 80W wired charging; Xiaomi lists 45W turbo charging and up to 22.5W wired reverse charging, which can be useful for powering another device. These capacities and wattages do not establish real-world runtime or charging duration: those depend on use, charger and conditions, and no independent comparable test is established here.

Performance, storage and expansion
Processor
OPPO identifies the K13’s processor as Snapdragon 6 Gen 4; Xiaomi lists Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 for the Redmi 17 5G. Their published CPU and GPU details differ, but chip names and manufacturer specifications alone do not show which phone performs better in a consistent benchmark or in everyday use.
Internal storage and microSD
The K13 offers 8GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB storage, and lists UFS 3.1. The Redmi 17 5G’s India configurations are 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB, with UFS 2.2, plus microSD expansion up to 2TB. In practical terms, OPPO provides the larger listed built-in storage option and faster stated storage standard; Xiaomi lets users add removable storage. Xiaomi notes that configurations vary by region, so confirm the exact India variant before buying.

Camera specifications and video
OPPO lists a 50MP main camera, a 2MP monochrome rear camera and a 16MP front camera; its specifications include rear video recording up to 4K at 30fps. Xiaomi lists a 50MP main camera with an auxiliary lens and an 8MP front camera. Megapixel counts and lens lists do not establish image quality, low-light performance, stabilization or video quality. Compare independent photo and video samples if those are deciding factors.

Size, weight and water resistance
The Redmi is larger and heavier on the published figures: Xiaomi lists 232g and dimensions of 170.12 × 78.42 × 8.8mm, while OPPO lists about 208g and about 163.2 × 76.1 × 8.5mm. The K13 is the lighter, more compact option on paper. OPPO lists IP65 and Xiaomi lists IP64; neither rating means the phone is safe to immerse in water. Xiaomi explicitly warns against immersion.

Software support: Xiaomi states a longer period
OPPO lists ColorOS 15 and promised two OS updates plus three years of security updates in its April 2025 launch release. Xiaomi’s India product page lists HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and states four years of OS updates plus six years of security updates. These are company support statements, not an independent guarantee of delivery dates; check that the policy applies to the specific device and market when purchasing.
What is the price difference?
A current like-for-like price gap is not established. OPPO’s official India launch announcement on April 21, 2025 listed ₹17,999 for the 8GB/128GB K13 and ₹19,999 for the 8GB/256GB version. These are launch prices, not verified October 2026 prices. Xiaomi’s reviewed India product and specification pages did not state a verifiable current price. Check live India listings for the exact storage variants before deciding which is better value; comparing different configurations or an old launch price would be misleading.
