US contractors can request bulk sludge solidification polymer from specialist suppliers including Martlin Distributing and APROTEK USA. Martlin lists Power Pellets in 2,000 lb super sacks and by truckload; APROTEK lists APROMUD in 1,000 kg big bags. First confirm that the job requires a liquid-waste solidifier—not a flocculant used to condition sludge before a press or centrifuge. Then request waste-specific dosage testing, product documents, a delivered quote, and written acceptance criteria from the disposal facility.
Bulk suppliers to contact
| Supplier and product | Bulk formats listed | What to ask for |
|---|---|---|
| Martlin Distributing — Power Pellets | 2,000 lb super sacks and truckload quantities; 40 lb bags are also listed. | Confirm current stock, delivery coverage, minimum order, freight, lead time, grade, SDS, and a test protocol for your sludge. Martlin describes liquid-waste-stream assessment and a free bench-testing kit; its page says the SDS is available on request. |
| APROTEK USA — APROMUD | 1,000 kg big bags and 25 kg bags. | Ask for the appropriate grade, SDS, technical support, a delivered quote, application-specific dosage testing, storage guidance, and confirmation of compatibility with the waste and disposal route. |
Martlin reports that one super sack can solidify up to 1,500 gallons of water-based waste and provides a general liquid-to-product ratio. Those are supplier claims, not a design guarantee: sludge solids and chemistry can change product demand. APROTEK’s statements about absorption, paint-filter results, and landfill suitability are also vendor claims, not approval for a particular waste or facility.
Make sure you are buying the right kind of polymer
Solidification for liquid waste
A solidifier is used to absorb or immobilize liquid waste so it can be handled or transported in a less fluid state. Tell the supplier the waste source, volume or mass, approximate solids content, known contaminants, target handling condition, and intended disposal destination.
Flocculant for mechanical dewatering
A flocculant helps particles aggregate during thickening or mechanical dewatering, such as before a belt press, centrifuge, or other separation equipment. It is not interchangeable with an absorbent solidifier. If this is your process, U.S. Polymer Corporation describes coagulants and flocculants available in small or bulk quantities, along with jar testing, plant-scale testing, and dewatering equipment. SNF/Polydyne markets CLARIFLOC polymers for municipal sludge thickening and dewatering and describes field support and optimization. Provide process equipment and sludge characteristics when contacting suppliers in this category.

Compare quotes on project performance, not just unit price
- Function and waste match: State whether you need liquid-waste solidification or flocculation before dewatering. Include sludge type, liquid content, solids, and contaminants.
- Application evidence: Request a representative bench test, dosage recommendation, and documented acceptance criteria. Ask how the test sample should be collected and whether the supplier will assess the actual waste stream.
- Delivered economics: Compare delivered cost per pound or ton, dosage per quantity treated, freight, minimum order, and any effect on transport or disposal costs. A lower product unit price may not mean a lower treatment cost.
- Supply and handling: Confirm packaging, regional availability, lead time, unloading equipment, storage limits, SDS and labeling, and technical support.
- Disposal acceptance: Obtain the receiving facility’s requirements and any required waste characterization or testing. A supplier’s claim that a material passes a test does not establish that your treated waste will be accepted.
What a dewatering bid can—and cannot—tell you
The City of High Point, North Carolina, provides a useful procurement example for a related but different product class: liquid cationic emulsion polymer for sludge thickening and dewatering. Its 2026 bid specification requested 275-gallon IBC totes, SDS and physical/chemical information, supplier testing, and a compatibility review. It evaluated polymer cost per dry ton alongside demonstrated performance. The document estimated annual use at 250,000 lb and specified a minimum solids-capture requirement of 90–95% for listed plant applications. These are requirements and an estimate for that city’s dewatering program—not national demand, a market price, or a benchmark for absorbent solidifiers.

Rank #2
- OIL DRY ABSORBENT FOR CONCRETE & DRIVEWAY: Soaks up motor oil, gasoline, diesel, hydraulic fluid and grease on garage floors, driveways, asphalt, shop and warehouse floors. Fast-acting granules lock the spill in on contact.
- SWEEPS UP DRY, NO SLIMY RESIDUE: Apply, wait about 12 minutes, then sweep up or HEPA vacuum. Leaves no greasy film behind to track through the garage or into the house.
- GOES FURTHER THAN CAT LITTER OR SAND: Lightweight granules hold far more liquid per pound than clay litter or sand, so you use less and lift less. Nothing to grind underfoot.
- WORKS ON ALL LIQUID SPILLS: Oil, fuel, auto fluids, grease, wet paint, solvents, alcohols, acids and chemicals. Do not use on hydrofluoric acid.
- SIMPLE 3-STEP USE: Apply the granules, brush into the spill after 12 minutes, then sweep into a dustpan or vacuum clean. No scrubbing and no hosing down the driveway.
- Sludge source, process, estimated liquid volume or total mass, and approximate solids content.
- Known contaminants and waste classification, plus any existing characterization data.
- Treatment objective and target condition for handling, transport, or disposal.
- Disposal destination and its acceptance criteria.
- Available mixing or feed equipment, site location, unloading constraints, required quantity, and delivery date.
Ask each supplier for the exact product and grade, application-specific test plan and dosage, SDS and technical data, package size, minimum order, delivered cost, freight, lead time, storage and handling limits, technical support, and references for comparable applications.

Do not assume that polymer treatment changes a waste’s regulatory status or guarantees landfill acceptance. If the waste classification or disposal route is uncertain, consult the responsible environmental professional or regulator.
