To publish a Hostinger AI Builder project built in agentic mode, go to Dashboard → Websites, choose Edit website, and click Publish in the top-right corner of the editor. After the first launch, use the same Publish control to push later edits live. The steps below cover first publication, updates, domain options, and what to check when the site does not load.
Publish the site for the first time
- In the Hostinger dashboard, open Websites, find the project, and click Edit website. If you have just created a new project and a waiting page appears, select Go to the project.
- In the editor, click Publish at the top right. If the button is greyed out while the site is still being created, wait for creation to finish before trying again.
- When the first publication completes, use Quick look on your phone to display a QR code. Scan it with a phone or tablet to open the live site on a real mobile device.
Until the first publication, the project is a private draft. Opening its address early can return a 404 or an SSL protocol error. That is expected behaviour for an unpublished project, not a sign that the build failed.
Publish later edits
- Open the project in the editor and make your changes.
- Click Publish at the top right. If a dropdown appears, choose Publish changes.
- Wait for the publishing process to finish before closing the editor or making further edits.
- When the publishing menu shows its completed state, use Copy URL to copy the live address, or Go to Analytics to open the analytics view for the site.
Verify the change on the live address in a private or incognito browser window. Your own browser may show a cached copy from before the update, so the private window gives a cleaner check.

A custom domain is optional for the first launch. If you connected a domain during setup, the project publishes to that domain. If you did not, the project can publish to a temporary domain, and you can connect a custom domain later.

| Option | When it suits you | What you do | Publishing result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Connected during setup | You already own the domain and want visitors to use it from the first launch | Connect the domain during project creation | The project publishes to that domain |
| Temporary domain | You want to launch first and decide on the final address later | Publish without connecting a domain | The project publishes to a temporary domain |
| Custom domain connected later | You want to switch to your own address after the site is already live | Point the domain using nameservers or CNAME records, then publish again | Connecting alone does not publish; a new publish makes the change live |
Hostinger’s support material does not compare cost or performance between these options, so the choice here is about timing and whether you already have a domain ready.
Connecting a custom domain later
Hostinger describes two ways to point a domain at the project: nameservers or CNAME records. Use the method your domain setup requires. Once the domain is connected, publish the project so the web app goes live on that address. Connecting the domain and publishing are separate actions, and skipping the second one leaves the site on its previous address.
If the site cannot be reached
Work through these checks in order:
- Confirm that the domain or subdomain is connected to the project and pointed to the correct destination.
- Allow time for DNS. Hostinger’s guide says recent DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate globally, so a new connection may not work immediately.
- Clear the browser cache, then try again.
- Load the address on another device or over a different network connection to rule out a local problem.
These are troubleshooting suggestions from Hostinger’s guide. They are not tests carried out for this article.

Hostinger’s creation guide recommends checking how the site looks and works across different browsers and devices. It also suggests measuring performance and loading speed with a benchmark tool such as GTMetrix. Treat both as routine checks to run after each publication, not as guarantees about how your site will perform.

Notes on interface changes
Labels such as Publish, Publish changes, and Quick look on your phone come from Hostinger’s current support article on agentic-mode publishing. Hostinger may rename menus or move controls. If the names differ, look for the publish control in the top-right area of the editor and check the support article for the latest wording.
