There is no universal winner between Hosting.com and SiteGround in 2026. SiteGround is easier to evaluate from published information because it states its plan limits and its standard renewal prices in US dollars. Hosting.com advertises a strong feature list and free migration, but the renewal price for a comparable plan was not stated on the pages reviewed, so you cannot finish a value comparison on price alone. The better choice depends on how many sites you run, how much traffic they get, and what you will pay after the introductory term ends.
Which host fits which situation
- SiteGround is the more transparent option if you want published plan limits, explicit US renewal prices, and a tiered path from a single WordPress site to a larger account. Independent 2026 coverage from TechRadar and Tom’s Guide positions it for WordPress users and small businesses that value support and managed services, and flags renewal pricing as its main drawback.
- Hosting.com deserves a look if free migration and a broad set of included infrastructure features matter most to you. Before you choose it on value, get its full renewal cost and exact plan limits in writing.
- Neither provider has been shown in a controlled head-to-head test to be faster or more reliable. Treat vendor uptime and performance statements as promises, not measured results.
What you will pay after the promotion
SiteGround’s US sales page, checked October 7, 2026, shows introductory prices for StartUp, GrowBig, and GoGeek. These are prepaid for 12 months. SiteGround’s standard-rate help article, updated October 2, 2026, lists the renewal prices below for the same 12-month term. Prices are market-specific and can change, so confirm them on the provider’s site before you buy.
| Plan (SiteGround, US) | Introductory price, prepaid 12 months | Standard renewal price, 12-month term | Approximate first-year cost at renewal rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| StartUp | $2.99/month | $17.99/month | $215.88 per year |
| GrowBig | $4.99/month | $29.99/month | $359.88 per year |
| GoGeek | $7.99/month | $44.99/month | $539.88 per year |
| Hosting.com (comparable plan) | Not stated on the pages reviewed | Not stated on the pages reviewed | Not stated on the pages reviewed |
The renewal annual figures are calculated by multiplying the listed standard monthly rate by 12. At these rates, SiteGround’s renewal price is roughly 5.6 to 6 times its introductory monthly price. Budget for the renewal figure, not the promotion. Hosting.com’s introductory and renewal figures were not stated in the material reviewed, so no like-for-like comparison is possible yet.

What is included
SiteGround
SiteGround’s sales page lists a free domain, free site transfer, daily backups, and 24/7 expert support across its plans. Higher tiers add on-demand backups, staging, Git access, private DNS, white-label access, and priority support. The page groups these as higher-tier additions, so confirm which plan includes each feature before you buy.
#1 Best Overall
Hosting.com
Hosting.com’s official page advertises NVMe storage, LiteSpeed caching, unlimited databases, malware protection, free SSL, free migration, a 30-day money-back guarantee, and a 99.9% uptime SLA. These are the provider’s own statements. Its WordPress page describes managed WordPress hosting with unlimited free migrations, but the page does not spell out the scope or exclusions, so ask for them.
Site scale and resource guidance
| Plan | Approximate monthly visits (SiteGround guidance) | Storage |
|---|---|---|
| StartUp | 10,000 | 10 GB |
| GrowBig | 100,000 | 50 GB |
| GoGeek | 400,000 | 100 GB |
| Hosting.com | Not stated on the pages reviewed | Not stated on the pages reviewed |
SiteGround presents the visit figures as approximate suitability guidance, not a cap or a traffic guarantee. A site with spiky traffic, heavy plugins, or large media libraries may outgrow the guidance sooner, so measure your own resource use before you pick a tier.
Migration and WordPress management
Both providers advertise free migration, but the two offers may cover different things. Use this sequence when moving an existing site to either provider:
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstall- Create a full backup of your current site, including files and the database, and download a copy you can restore on your own.
- Ask the new host, in writing, what the free migration covers: one site or several, email, DNS changes, staging copies, and any size or plugin exclusions.
- Run the migration on a staging or temporary address first, and test forms, logins, checkout, and key pages.
- Keep the old host active until the new site has passed those tests.
- Change DNS only after testing, then allow time for propagation and check the site from more than one network.
- Cancel the old account only after you confirm that email, backups, and the domain have moved correctly.
Support, uptime, and performance evidence
- Hosting.com’s 99.9% uptime SLA is the vendor’s stated commitment. It is not an observed uptime result, and it does not show how the company performs in practice.
- SiteGround’s 24/7 expert support is listed on its sales page as part of its plans. Its quality was not measured in the sources reviewed.
- Speed and reliability: no controlled head-to-head test comparing these two providers was found. Neither provider’s speed or uptime can be ranked on the evidence available.
How to choose
- One site, modest traffic, first host: SiteGround StartUp has the lowest listed introductory and renewal prices of its own range. Check whether its 10 GB storage and 10,000-visit guidance fit your site before committing.
- Several sites or growth toward 100,000 monthly visits: SiteGround GrowBig is the tier the listed limits point to. Compare the renewal total with what Hosting.com quotes you in writing.
- Need staging, Git, or on-demand backups: check which SiteGround tier includes these, then compare the cost of that tier with Hosting.com’s plan that includes the features you need.
- Moving an existing site with a tight budget: get Hosting.com’s migration scope and renewal price in writing before you move, since its free migration is advertised but not fully defined on its pages.
Limits of this comparison
Prices and plan details come from SiteGround’s pages as checked on October 7, 2026, and from its help article updated October 2, 2026. Hosting.com’s comparable renewal pricing, visit guidance, and storage limits were not stated on the pages reviewed. This comparison does not include speed or uptime benchmarks, and it does not reflect hands-on testing of either service.
