Pyjam’s PJM payments are built so that a tap inside a live stream becomes a Solana transaction that can be looked up on-chain, while the app keeps the meaning of that tap: which creator, which stream, and which feature it unlocked. Anton Malinovskiy, who holds the PJM concept and architectural requirements, described this design in a TechBullion interview published September 28, 2026. The sections below walk through the flow in the order a payment actually moves, then separate what the blockchain can prove from what only Pyjam’s records can show.
The short answer
The design attaches an application-level payment intent to a public Solana transfer. The intent records the action, sender, recipient, and amount. A memo carries the intent identifier onto the chain, and the transaction identifier (txid) lets the server find and check the transfer. The app treats the payment as complete only after the network finalizes it and the server confirms that the on-chain transfer matches the intent. Every detail here comes from Malinovskiy’s own description in the interview; none of it has been independently audited.
How a viewer’s tap becomes a verifiable transfer
The interview lays out a sequence of five steps. Each step hands the payment to a different party, and each party checks something different.
Recommended Free Tools
- The viewer confirms an action in the stream. The viewer chooses an amount and confirms. The app sends the server an internal recipient identifier, plus any stream, chat, or message context that gives the action its meaning. The recipient is identified internally, not by a wallet address the viewer types in.
- The server creates a payment intent. The intent records the action type, sender, recipient, amount, and any separate service charge. Its identifier is placed in the Solana transaction as a memo, which is the link that later ties the public transfer back to the in-app action.
- The embedded wallet signs, and a relay validates. The viewer’s embedded wallet authorizes the PJM transfer. A relay checks the signature and the selected transaction parameters before it submits anything to the network. The service wallet then adds its own signature as fee payer.
- The network returns a txid. The submitted transaction receives a transaction identifier, and the server associates that txid with the payment intent and monitors it until the network reports a result.
- The server reconciles before the app reacts. After finalization, the server checks that the asset, recipient, amount, memo, and any separately recorded charge match the intent. Only then does the app update history or balance, post support in chat, or switch on a paid feature.
The order matters. The app does not treat a successful signature, a submitted transaction, or an early network signal as proof that a viewer’s support has landed. It waits for the reconciliation step, which is the point where the public transaction and the private intent are compared.

Who pays the network fee, and what sponsorship does not do
Every Solana transaction carries a fee in SOL, and the question readers most often ask is whether a viewer must hold SOL before supporting a creator. According to the interview, the answer is no in the normal case: when Pyjam’s relay and service-wallet route is available and properly configured, the service wallet pays the Solana network fee. The viewer does not need to acquire SOL for that transfer.
Three conditions qualify that statement. The relay has to be available. The service wallet has to hold enough balance to cover the fees it sponsors. And the fee has not disappeared; the platform infrastructure absorbs it, and any service charge for an action is recorded as a separate amount in the intent. If you read “free” in coverage of this design, treat it as shorthand for “the viewer does not pay the network fee on this route,” not as a claim that the transaction costs nothing.
For scale, Solana’s official transaction documentation lists a base fee of 5,000 lamports per signature. That figure is a protocol-level value from the Solana Foundation documentation (accessed 2026, undated page), not a Pyjam fee schedule, and the base fee can change, so check the current value before using it. A transaction with two signatures, such as the viewer’s signature plus the service wallet’s fee-payer signature, is therefore charged for both signatures at that base rate, and the documentation also notes that fees are still charged when an instruction fails.

Why one signature is not enough
The interview’s answer to why a single signature is insufficient rests on separating authority from payment. The viewer’s signature authorizes the PJM transfer itself. The service wallet’s signature accepts the fee-payer role, which means it agrees to cover the network fee after the relay has validated the transaction.
Malinovskiy frames the boundary this way: “Preserving that boundary was essential to me: convenience should not give an infrastructure service unrestricted access to a viewer’s funds.” In the design he describes, the relay never receives the viewer’s private key and has no independent authority to move the viewer’s funds. The service wallet signs only after validation. This is a description of intended behavior from the interview, not a security audit of the implementation.
What happens when the connection drops
A payment flow that touches a phone, a network, and a server will sometimes fail partway through. The interview names two mechanisms for this.

- Custom three-capsule array: This professional USB mic produces clear, powerful, broadcast-quality sound for YouTube videos, Twitch game streaming, podcasting, Zoom meetings, music recording and more
- Blue VO!CE software: Elevate your streamings and recordings with clear broadcast vocal sound and entertain your audience with enhanced effects, advanced modulation and HD audio samples
- Four pickup patterns: Flexible cardioid, omni, bidirectional, and stereo pickup patterns allow you to record in ways that would normally require multiple mics, for vocals, instruments and podcasts
- Onboard audio controls: Headphone volume, pattern selection, instant mute, and mic gain put you in charge of every level of the audio recording and streaming process
- Positionable design: Pivot the mic in relation to the sound source to optimize your sound quality thanks to the adjustable desktop stand and track your voice in real time with no-latency monitoring
- An idempotency key. Each payment request carries a key. If the app retries after a dropped connection with the same key, the server resumes the existing payment intent rather than creating a second one. If the retry changes the amount or the recipient while reusing the key, the server rejects it.
- A retained txid. Once a transaction has been submitted, its txid is kept. A client that loses its response can ask the server to register the result for that existing transaction, instead of initiating a fresh transfer that would pay twice.
Together these address the duplicate-payment case that matters most in live streams, where a viewer may tap quickly, lose signal, and tap again.

When a payment counts as complete
The design separates four states that are easy to blur together. Each one answers a different question, and only the last one licenses a success message.
| Stage | What it establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| User confirmation | The viewer intended the action | That anything was signed, submitted, or paid |
| Txid issued | The transaction was submitted and has an identifier | That it succeeded or matches the intended action |
| Network confirmation | An intermediate network signal was received | That the transfer is final, or that the app’s reconciliation passed |
| Finalization and reconciliation | The transaction is final and its asset, recipient, amount, memo, and any separate charge match the payment intent | Nothing beyond the specific payment it describes |
Pyjam’s success threshold, as described in the interview, is the last row. A blockchain confirmation on its own does not show that the transfer carries the app’s intended action, which is why the memo-to-intent check exists.

What anyone can verify, and what stays inside Pyjam
The interview draws a clear line between public transaction facts and application context. Anyone holding the txid can look up the transaction’s status, the sending and receiving addresses, the token identifier, the amount, and the network fee. Those are public Solana data.
The meaning of the payment is different. Pyjam’s own records explain which action was selected and which stream or feature it was attached to. According to the interview, names, precise location, and stream content are not published in the described transaction. The addresses remain visible, though, so a public transfer on this design should not be described as anonymous.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →| Item | Visible on the Solana transaction | Held by Pyjam |
|---|---|---|
| Transaction status and txid | Yes | Stored with the payment intent |

| Intent identifier in the memo | Yes | Used to locate the intent |
| Selected action and stream or feature | Not published, per the interview | Yes |
| Names, precise location, stream content | Not published, per the interview | Held within the app |
This split is what makes the payment checkable without making the whole social context public. An outside party can confirm that a transfer of a given amount reached a given address with a given memo. Confirming that the transfer meant a particular support action in a particular stream requires access to Pyjam’s records.

Evaluating this design against other payment models
The interview contrasts internal-only virtual gifts with transfers on a public chain, but it does not name competing products or supply benchmarks against them. For that reason, the most useful way to assess any creator-payment design is to ask the same six questions of it:
- Who pays the network fee, and under what conditions? In Pyjam’s route, the service wallet pays while the relay is available and its balance is sufficient.
- Who signs, and what does each signature authorize? The viewer authorizes the PJM transfer; the service wallet accepts the fee-payer role after validation.
- Is the in-app action linked to the transaction? Yes, through the intent identifier in the memo.
- How are retries and duplicates handled? An idempotency key resumes the existing intent, and a retained txid prevents a second submission.
- What event counts as completion? Finalization followed by reconciliation against the intent.
- Which facts are public and which stay private? Transaction facts are public; the meaning of the action stays with Pyjam.
Limits of the evidence
Everything above describes the design as Malinovskiy explained it in the September 28, 2026 TechBullion interview. The interview attributes the individual components to the development team, which implemented them in code; it does not establish exclusive invention or code authorship beyond that attribution. It also contains no independent security review, no deployment audit, and no performance study. Its claims about privacy and implementation are the interviewee’s account.
No independently verified figures on PJM transaction volume, user numbers, adoption, conversion, or measured payment latency were available for this article. A 2026 preprint on a latency-related concept describes a proposed and simulated framework, and it should not be read as evidence of how Pyjam’s payments perform in practice.
A separate January 2026 article by Malinovskiy on an embedded PJM wallet appears in bibliographic records, but its full text could not be reviewed, so it is not used here as a source for any claim.
