Yes, Xiaomi phones can share photos and files with iPhones, and Xiaomi documents syncing iPhone notifications that can include text messages and incoming calls. But these capabilities are not all new HyperOS 4 features: Xiaomi says compatible phones on HyperOS 2 already support bidirectional photo and file transfers, while certain AI-dialogue cross-device features specifically require HyperOS 4.
Which features you can use depends on the phone, software build, iPhone, and companion app. Here is what Xiaomi documents, how to set up file transfers, and what to consider before enabling notification sync.
What Xiaomi phones can sync with an iPhone
Xiaomi describes several distinct ways its phones connect with Apple devices. They should not be treated as one all-or-nothing “sync” feature.

For the iPhone features described on Xiaomi’s HyperConnect page, Xiaomi lists iOS 14 or later and Xiaomi Interconnectivity app 2.0.0 or later. It also lists Bluetooth and a shared network or hotspot as conditions. The file-transfer FAQ separately describes compatible Xiaomi devices on HyperOS 2 and requires the Interconnectivity app on the Apple device. Requirements vary by feature, so check Xiaomi’s page for the specific route you intend to use.

How to transfer photos and files
Xiaomi’s published steps cover transfers in both directions. The Apple device must have Xiaomi Interconnectivity installed and open; for file transfer, Xiaomi also specifies Bluetooth and a shared local network.
Send from a Xiaomi phone to an iPhone
- Install Xiaomi Interconnectivity on the Apple device and open the app.
- Enable Bluetooth on both devices and connect them to the same local network.
- On the Xiaomi phone, select the images or files in Gallery or File Manager.
- Tap Send, choose Xiaomi Share, then select the Apple device.
- Accept the transfer on the Apple device.
Send from an iPhone to a Xiaomi phone
- Install and open Xiaomi Interconnectivity on the Apple device.
- Enable Xiaomi Share on the Xiaomi phone, and make sure Bluetooth is enabled and both devices are on the same local network.
- In the Apple app, choose the Xiaomi device and follow the prompts to send the selected files.
These are Xiaomi’s published instructions; the available device options and exact prompts can vary with software versions. For Touch to Share, follow Xiaomi’s instructions for that feature rather than assuming it uses the same local-network transfer flow.

What HyperOS 4 adds—and what its beta status means
Xiaomi’s HyperOS 4-specific description concerns certain AI-dialogue functions across a phone, tablet, and supported computer. Its continuity overview says those capabilities can synchronize phone notifications and send photos from a phone or tablet to a computer. That is different from sending photos and files between a Xiaomi phone and an iPhone, which Xiaomi documents for compatible HyperOS 2 devices.

Xiaomi Corporation’s 2026 interim report says the HyperOS 4 beta launched in August 2026. That statement establishes a beta launch, not a stable release or global rollout. Confirm availability for your device and region rather than assuming the feature is already offered on every HyperOS 4 phone.

Unlike a file transfer, notification synchronization can make personal information visible across devices. Xiaomi’s privacy policy says the feature can involve an app name, notification title and content, text messages, and incoming-call details such as a contact name and phone number. This is Xiaomi’s description of data used to provide the feature, not an independent security assessment.

Xiaomi says Xiaomi Share file transfers use a point-to-point connection and that transferred data is not uploaded to the cloud. That statement applies to Xiaomi Share file transfer; it should not be taken as a description of how notification synchronization or AI cross-device services handle data. Review Xiaomi’s Interconnectivity privacy policy and the permissions shown during setup before enabling notification access.
Compatibility and photo-fidelity caveats
Xiaomi’s published pages do not provide a complete, current compatibility matrix covering every phone model and region. A feature’s general requirements do not guarantee that it is available on your particular handset or software build. Check the phone’s installed HyperOS version, Xiaomi Interconnectivity version, and Xiaomi’s feature-specific requirements before relying on the connection.
Photo appearance can also depend on settings. Xiaomi notes that Gallery privacy settings may remove photo metadata; as a result, a Live Photo may arrive as a still image. If motion or other metadata matters, check those settings and verify the received file before deleting the original.
