The Roku Pro Series OLED makes a persuasive case for an affordable OLED: it delivers deep blacks, vivid color, 120Hz gaming and a generous set of connections. But its measured HDR brightness trails several competing OLEDs, so it is a better fit for a dim or moderately lit room than one filled with daylight. Tom’s Guide tested the 65-inch model; its results and impressions are the basis for this review-led assessment.

What the Roku Pro Series OLED is—and what it costs

Roku’s Pro Series OLED is the company’s first OLED TV line. The standard series launched in September 2026 in 55-inch and 65-inch sizes. At launch, Tom’s Guide listed starting prices of $999.99 for 55 inches and $1,199.99 for 65 inches; those are launch prices, not a guarantee of current pricing or stock. The reviewer also cited event-specific Prime Big Deal Days prices of $699.99 and $799.99, respectively, in October 2026. Check the exact size and model and confirm the live price before buying. Tom’s Guide’s review and What Hi-Fi?’s launch report provide the launch context.

The value proposition is straightforward: get OLED’s per-pixel blacks and rich picture without stepping straight to a more expensive OLED tier. Roku’s launch messaging framed the line as a way to make OLED more accessible; that is the company’s positioning, not proof that it is the least expensive option at every retailer or at today’s prices.

Picture quality: convincing OLED contrast, limited brightness

Tom’s Guide’s reviewer praised the TV’s deep blacks and vibrant image. Those OLED strengths are most compelling in darker viewing conditions, where black levels add contrast and shadow detail stands out. The trade-off is brightness: in the review’s 10% window HDR test, the 65-inch sample measured 574 nits. The reviewer found that very bright rooms could make dark scenes harder to see, making window exposure and reflections relevant to the buying decision.

Tom’s Guide also measured 331 nits SDR brightness at a 10% window, Delta-E of 2.3, 98.37% Rec. 709 coverage, 96.03% UHDA-P3 coverage and 70.7% Rec. 2020 coverage. These are measurements of the reviewed sample using the publication’s test methods, not guarantees for every unit, picture mode or setting. In that publication’s comparison, the LG B6 measured 780 nits HDR brightness and Delta-E 1.04; the Samsung S90H measured 1,497 nits and 1.65; and the LG C6 measured 1,365 nits and 1.62. The figures are useful as results from the same review’s comparison, but should not be treated as a universal ranking across all test conditions. Tom’s Guide’s full review gives its results and methodology.

TechRadar separately reported 462 nits HDR brightness in HDR Dark on a 10% window, 71% BT.2020 coverage in Film Maker mode and 96% DCI-P3 coverage. Those figures come from different test modes and should not be combined with Tom’s Guide’s measurements as if they were one test set. TechRadar likewise identified lower brightness as a concern in bright rooms. TechRadar’s review describes its measurement conditions.

Gaming and connections

For gaming, the combination of a 120Hz panel and review-reported gaming features makes the Pro Series OLED a capable all-rounder. Tom’s Guide reports ALLM, VRR and AMD FreeSync Premium, alongside four HDMI 2.1 ports, one of which supports eARC. Its measured input lag was 9.1ms. In PlayStation 5 testing, the reviewer reported smooth play, no obvious tearing and input lag that was nearly imperceptible in use. Those are results and observations from that review, not a promise for every console, game or configuration.

Audio: usable built-in sound, optional eARC upgrade

Tom’s Guide describes the built-in audio as serviceable but somewhat muffled. If clearer dialogue or fuller sound matters to you, an eARC-compatible soundbar is a possible upgrade using the TV’s eARC HDMI port. It is an option rather than a required add-on; the review did not test or recommend a particular soundbar.

How it compares with the alternatives

Alternative Why consider it What to weigh against the Roku Pro Series OLED
Roku Pro Series LX OLED Tom’s Guide describes the step-up line as brighter, with a 144Hz panel and better glare handling. What Hi-Fi? also reports an advanced polarizer and Roku Voice Remote Pro. It is the higher-priced line. Consider it if room brightness, reflections or refresh rate matter enough to justify the extra spend. Current prices and exact model details should be checked at purchase. Tom’s Guide; What Hi-Fi?
LG B6 OLED Tom’s Guide’s comparison measured higher HDR brightness and more accurate color on its LG B6 sample than on its Roku sample. TechRadar also describes the LG B6/B6E as brighter in HDR and slightly stronger in color coverage. Roku’s review positions its Pro Series OLED at a lower price, but live pricing and exact model variants need checking before making a value comparison. Tom’s Guide; TechRadar
TCL QM7L TechRadar says it is much brighter and offers better color coverage. It is a different display-technology choice: the Roku has OLED black levels and, according to the review, more HDMI 2.1 ports. Compare the strengths that matter in your room rather than treating the sets as direct OLED equivalents. TechRadar

Who should buy the Roku Pro Series OLED?

  • Consider it if you want OLED contrast and vivid color at a comparatively accessible entry point, mainly watch in controlled or moderate light, and want 120Hz gaming with the features and connections reported in the review.
  • Look elsewhere or compare carefully if your room is very bright, glare is difficult to control, or you prioritize maximum HDR brightness. The Roku LX is the closer Roku comparison for brightness and reflection handling; the LG B6 is worth comparing for the review-reported brightness and color-accuracy results.
  • Consider the TCL QM7L if brightness and color coverage matter more to you than OLED’s black levels.
  • Check before ordering that the listing matches the desired size and exact regional model, and verify current price, stock and any feature you consider essential.

Verdict

The Roku Pro Series OLED is a strong budget-oriented OLED, particularly for viewers who want deep blacks, vibrant color and capable gaming without prioritizing peak brightness. Its 574-nit HDR result in Tom’s Guide’s 10% window test is the central compromise: it limits how confidently it can be recommended for a bright room. If your lighting is manageable and the current price is right, it is an appealing entry into OLED; if not, compare a brighter set or Roku’s step-up LX.
