To send a customer a receipt in Hostinger AI Builder, open the order in your store’s order list, download the receipt from the order’s actions menu, and send the file to the customer’s email address shown on that order. Hostinger’s instructions describe this as a manual download-and-send step. They do not say the receipt is emailed automatically.
Step-by-step: download and send a receipt
- In your store management area, go to Orders.
- Open the order the customer is asking about.
- In the top-right corner, open More actions and click Download receipt.
- Check the customer’s email address in the order details, then send the downloaded receipt to that address from your own email account.
Hostinger’s receipt article, titled “Hostinger AI Builder: How to send receipts from the online store,” asks merchants to send a receipt to a customer after they successfully place an order. The official steps do not describe an in-product send or attach button, and they do not name the file format of the download. If your store shows a different option, follow what appears on your screen and treat the email-based path above as the documented route.
Receipts and automatic order emails are separate
A receipt is something you send. Automatic messages are something the store sends. Hostinger’s email article, “Hostinger AI Builder: How to send emails from your online store,” states that transactional emails, including order confirmations and other order updates, go to customers automatically. Those messages do not replace a receipt, and sending a receipt does not change them.

Timing of the order confirmation depends on how the order was paid:

- Online payment: the confirmation is sent once the order is marked Paid.
- Manual or offline payment: the confirmation is sent when the order is created.
- Appointment bookings and digital products: the confirmation is sent only after the order is marked Paid.
If a customer says they never received a confirmation, check the payment status first. For an online-payment order that is not yet marked Paid, the confirmation has not been sent yet.
Receipt or invoice: choose the right document
A receipt shows proof of payment. An invoice is a formal billing document. Hostinger’s invoice article, “Hostinger AI Builder: How to manage invoices in the online store,” says you can create an invoice from an order and then download, print, or send it. It also says the generated invoice is not a tax invoice, and that a customer who only needs proof of payment should be sent a receipt instead.

If your customer or local rules require a tax invoice, Hostinger’s invoice article does not say that the generated invoice satisfies that requirement. Confirm the requirement with your accountant or tax authority before relying on it.

- The file format of the downloaded receipt is not specified in the receipt article.
- No in-product email or attachment control for receipts is described.
- No printer or paper is needed for the receipt steps. Printing is mentioned only as an option for invoices.
These gaps mean you should open the downloaded file once to see what it contains before sending it to a customer for the first time.

Troubleshooting
- No Download receipt option: confirm you are on the individual order page, not the Orders list, and that the order has been placed.
- Customer did not get the email: check the email address in the order details for typos, then resend the receipt from your own mailbox.
- Customer asks for a formal invoice: go back to More actions and use Create invoice, not Download receipt.
