Jetpack 16.3 was released on October 6, 2026. It adds conditional logic to Jetpack Forms, new playlist controls for VideoPress, a renamed and reorganized feature screen in My Jetpack, updated AI-agent setup guidance, and a Zoom Scheduler block. It also includes fixes for false connection errors. If your site uses Forms, VideoPress, or Jetpack’s admin screens, the update is worth installing. If you use none of those, it is a low-stakes update.
Whether Jetpack 16.3 is a “winner” is a judgment rather than a measured result. Jetpack’s release article and the WordPress.org changelog describe what changed. The sources available for this article do not include independent performance tests or a user study comparing this version with earlier ones, so the claims below are limited to what the vendor documents.

What changed in Jetpack 16.3
Forms: conditional fields
The Form block now supports conditional logic. A site owner can set a field to appear, or stay hidden, based on how a visitor answered an earlier field. Jetpack’s example shows a “Which podcast?” field that appears only when a visitor answers “Podcast” to “How did you hear about us?” Jetpack’s release article says this capability is available on every plan, including the free plan.
This matters most for longer forms. Visitors see only the questions that apply to them, which can shorten a form without removing questions for anyone.

VideoPress: playlist presentation and player loading
VideoPress playlists gain presentation controls. You can edit a playlist’s title and description, and a “Show player” setting turns the playlist into a plain list of videos with no embedded player. The release also adds a global “Allow sharing” setting, lets you edit video details while a file is still uploading, and changes how the player loads.
The vendor’s one stated example is a test post with four videos, where the change meant one player download instead of four. That is Jetpack’s own illustration of the new loading behavior, not an independent benchmark, and your results will depend on how many players a page contains and what else it loads.
My Jetpack: “Products” becomes “Features”
The My Jetpack screen has been reorganized. The “Products” tab is now called “Features,” and each feature has an on/off switch in a grid. To find the new controls:

- Select the Features tab. It replaces the Products tab from earlier versions.
- Use the switch on each feature card to turn that feature on or off.
Two other admin changes affect what you see. The legacy At a Glance dashboard and the Recommendations assistant are removed. Activity Log is now a Jetpack module that you can switch off from My Jetpack, and menu items for inactive features are hidden. If a menu item you used has disappeared, check whether its feature is switched off on the Features tab before assuming it was removed.
AI agent setup
The MCP setup page now includes setup instructions for ChatGPT and Codex, alongside instructions for other agents, and a “How it works” guide. The changelog also says Jetpack hides the legacy AI panel on sites that are eligible to enable WordPress Agent, and offers to open or enable the Agent from there. The Scheduled tasks tab now loads only when you open it.
Zoom Scheduler block
The new Zoom Scheduler block lets you paste a Zoom Scheduler booking-page URL so visitors can book a meeting directly from a post or page. Jetpack says the block is available on every plan, including the free plan.
Other changes
- Stats settings move to a Settings tab.
- Tooltips and charts have improved keyboard and screen-reader support.
- The Daily Writing Prompt widget has a “Freshly Pressed” tab.
Connection reliability and security
Jetpack says it fixed several cases where a healthy site showed a connection problem, including stale notices and false failures in Site Health. Genuine connection errors are now combined into one notice that names the affected account. Reconnecting repairs only the site owner’s account rather than disconnecting every connected user, which was the outcome of reconnecting in earlier versions.

To update, Jetpack’s own instruction is: “Update to Jetpack 16.3 from your ‘Plugins’ page, and let us know what you think in the support forums.” (Jetpack release article, published October 7, 2026.) In the WordPress admin, that means going to Plugins, finding Jetpack, and selecting Update. After updating, open My Jetpack and check the Features tab, since the layout and menu items have changed. If you want to follow future releases, Jetpack’s documentation explains that plugin changelogs and WordPress.org RSS feeds can be used for that purpose.
Before updating a production site, make a backup and test the update on a staging copy if you have one. Forms and playlists are the parts most likely to need a quick check afterward, because their behavior changed.
What the evidence does and does not show
The release facts are documented by Jetpack: the October 6, 2026 release date, the October 7, 2026 product article by Devin Walker, and the WordPress.org and GitHub release notes. Jetpack describes the release as 380 pull requests from 52 contributors. That describes the volume of development work, not how the update performs on real sites.
No independent source in this review compares Jetpack 16.3 with earlier versions for speed, security outcomes, or compatibility across WordPress setups. The four-video player example is the vendor’s own illustration. Based on the published material, the update is a meaningful feature and administration release that fixes known problems. Whether it is the best Jetpack release for your site depends on the features you use and on testing it yourself.
