TorrentFreak reported on September 16, 2026, that Denuvo GmbH had filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Denuvo alleges violations of the DMCA’s anti-circumvention provisions involving 26 games and seeks damages and an injunction. On October 6, TorrentFreak reported that Denuvo had asked the court for permission to issue limited subpoenas to Discord, Valve, and Reddit to seek information that could identify the defendant. The outlet said Valve and Reddit had declined to provide information without legal backing, citing privacy policies, while Discord had not replied. Does the lawsuit explain why the Atomfall crack appeared?
No causal link is established in the reporting reviewed here. The Atomfall release was reported after the lawsuit and subpoena request, but timing alone does not show that the case prompted it, failed to deter it, or changed voices38’s release schedule.

After the complaint became public, TorrentFreak quoted a Reddit comment attributed to voices38: “All is fine. Everything will continue as normal.” That is a statement attributed to the anonymous handle, not independent confirmation that activity continued normally or evidence about the motive for the later Atomfall report.
