The POCO M7 Pro 5G is the cheaper phone in the India price listings we could check, and it has the more advanced display on paper: an AMOLED panel with 45W charging. The moto g max 5G counters with a much larger listed battery (7,000mAh against 5,110mAh), a dedicated ultra-wide camera and a stated Android 16 software commitment. If price matters most, POCO wins; if battery life and software support matter most, the moto g max is the stronger spec sheet.
The POCO figures come from Xiaomi’s Philippines product page, and the Motorola figures come from Motorola Support India. Both are official manufacturer specifications, but they are not identical market listings. The prices are dated India snapshots from Gadgets 360, not live offers.
Specs at a glance
| Attribute | POCO M7 Pro 5G | Motorola moto g max 5G | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chipset | MediaTek Dimensity 7025-Ultra, 6nm | Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, 4nm | Different platforms. The official pages do not include a comparable benchmark, so neither chip can be named the faster one from these sources. |
| Memory and storage | 8GB or 12GB RAM with 256GB storage; LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage | 6GB LPDDR5X RAM with 128GB UFS 3.1 storage; RAM Boost listed | The Motorola page lists less built-in storage in its cited configuration. RAM Boost uses storage as virtual memory and is not the same as physical RAM. |
| Display | 6.67-inch AMOLED, 2400 × 1080, up to 120Hz, stated peak brightness 2,100 nits | 6.72-inch LCD, 2400 × 1080, 120Hz, high-brightness mode up to 1,050 nits | POCO uses AMOLED and Motorola uses a slightly larger LCD. The brightness figures come from each maker’s own mode definitions, so they are not a like-for-like test. |
| Rear cameras | 50MP main with OIS, plus 2MP depth; rear video up to 1080p/30fps | 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main, plus 8MP ultra-wide with a 119.5° field of view | POCO lists optical stabilisation; Motorola lists a dedicated ultra-wide lens. Megapixel counts alone do not settle photo quality. |
| Front camera | 20MP | 32MP | Motorola lists the higher resolution. That does not by itself establish better selfies. |
| Battery and charging | 5,110mAh typical capacity; 45W turbo charging, with a 45W charger in the box on the Philippines page | 7,000mAh; 30W TurboPower; battery life claimed up to 63 hours | Motorola lists 1,890mAh more capacity; POCO lists faster rated charging. The 63-hour figure is Motorola’s own claim, not an independent test. |
| SIM, expansion and connectivity | Hybrid SIM slot (second SIM or microSD); NFC; Bluetooth 5.3; 3.5mm headphone jack | Dual physical SIM; NFC not listed on the cited page; Bluetooth 5.1; 3.5mm headset jack | On the POCO you choose between a second SIM and microSD storage in the same slot. The Motorola page lists no microSD slot. |
| Dimensions, weight and protection | 162.4 × 75.7 × 7.99mm; 190g; Gorilla Glass 5 listed | 166.23 × 76.50 × 8.60mm; 213g; IP64, MIL-STD-810H and Gorilla Glass 7i listed | The Motorola is larger and heavier. Protection ratings are manufacturer claims and cover only the test conditions each maker describes. |
| Software and support | Xiaomi HyperOS; the cited page does not state an OS-upgrade or security-update period | Android 16; 2 OS upgrades and 3 years of security maintenance releases listed | Motorola states its support commitment on the page. The POCO page’s silence should not be read as a promise either way. |
Display, performance and memory
The clearest hardware difference is the panel. POCO’s AMOLED display typically gives deeper blacks and higher contrast than an LCD, but the specification pages do not measure this for either phone. Motorola’s 6.72-inch LCD is 0.05 inches larger than POCO’s 6.67-inch screen, a difference most buyers will notice only side by side.
On performance, the two phones use different chip families and the cited official pages do not include benchmark or real-world gaming results. The memory setup also differs in a way that matters for comparison. POCO’s 8GB and 12GB options are physical RAM. Motorola’s RAM Boost feature expands memory with storage, which can help multitasking but does not replace physical RAM. The Motorola’s 128GB built-in storage is also smaller than POCO’s 256GB base in the variants listed.

Battery, charging and durability
Battery and charging
The moto g max is the clear battery leader on paper. Its 7,000mAh capacity is 1,890mAh more than the POCO’s 5,110mAh typical rating. POCO’s 45W turbo charging is faster than Motorola’s 30W TurboPower on paper, so the two phones trade off in different directions: the Motorola should last longer per charge, while the POCO should refill faster. Neither figure is a measured endurance or charge-time result, so treat them as rated specifications rather than promised outcomes.
Build and protection
The POCO is smaller and lighter at 190g and 7.99mm thick, against the moto g max’s 213g and 8.60mm. The moto g max lists IP64 water and dust resistance and MIL-STD-810H, along with Gorilla Glass 7i. The POCO lists Gorilla Glass 5. If you plan to use the phone outdoors or in damp conditions, the Motorola’s listed ratings are the more relevant detail, though the official pages do not explain how each rating was tested.
Cameras
POCO’s rear setup pairs a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation and a 2MP depth sensor. Motorola’s pairs a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main camera with an 8MP ultra-wide lens that has a 119.5° field of view. The POCO offers stabilisation for the main lens, while the Motorola offers a wider-angle option the POCO does not list. The front camera is 20MP on POCO and 32MP on the moto g max. Neither official page supports a claim about which phone takes better photos, and the cited sources do not include sample images or lab results.
Software and support
The moto g max ships with Android 16 and comes with a stated support commitment of 2 OS upgrades and 3 years of security maintenance releases. The POCO M7 Pro runs Xiaomi HyperOS, and its cited specification page does not give an upgrade or security-update period. If long software support is important to you, the Motorola is the only one of the two with a published commitment.
Price difference in India
The price gap depends on which variants you compare and when each price was recorded. Both figures below come from Gadgets 360 price pages, and neither is a same-day quote from a single retailer.
POCO M7 Pro 5G
Gadgets 360’s POCO M7 Pro 5G India price page, last updated 11 September 2026, lists ₹14,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant and ₹16,999 for the 8GB/256GB variant. The page names a Flipkart listing as the lowest price for the 8GB/256GB variant on that date.

How to read the gap
Comparing the POCO 8GB/256GB at ₹16,999 with the Motorola 6GB/128GB at ₹27,599 gives a difference of ₹10,600. That pairs a higher-storage POCO with a lower-storage Moto, so it understates the gap if you are comparing equal memory. Comparing the two base variants, the POCO at ₹14,999 is ₹12,600 below the Moto at ₹27,599. The two snapshots are also a month apart, so the actual gap on any given day may be different. Check the seller, warranty and checkout price directly before you buy.
For context only, Spanish launch-era prices for the POCO were €239.99 for 8GB/256GB and €259.99 for 12GB/256GB, with an early reservation discount that ran until 7 April 2025, according to a Cinco Días report published 4 April 2025. Those prices are historical and outside the India comparison.

- You prefer an AMOLED screen and faster rated charging at 45W.
- You want NFC, or you need a microSD card and can give up a second SIM, since the POCO’s hybrid slot accepts one or the other.
Choose the moto g max 5G if
- Battery endurance is your top priority; its 7,000mAh rating is the largest of the two.
- You want a dedicated ultra-wide camera and a higher-resolution front camera.
- You want two physical SIM slots without sacrificing storage expansion, and you want a published software support commitment that includes Android 16 and three years of security updates.
