Yes. Paramount is developing a live-action feature film set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe, with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and CD PROJEKT RED attached to produce, according to reports published October 8, 2026. The project has no announced writer, director, cast, plot, or release date.
What has been announced about the Cyberpunk 2077 movie?
TheWrap reported that Paramount is developing a feature-film adaptation, and Gematsu described it as a live-action film set in the game’s universe. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and CD PROJEKT RED are attached as producers. The project is in development; that does not mean production has begun or that a release date is set.
CD PROJEKT RED co-CEO Michał Nowakowski told Gematsu: “We’re excited about Paramount as a future partner who shares our creative ambitions for the Cyberpunk franchise. We look forward to sharing more details at the appropriate time.”
Why is Paramount called the Call of Duty film studio?
Paramount is also behind a separate announced live-action Call of Duty feature. The Associated Press reported in October 2025 that Paramount and Activision announced that film, with Peter Berg and Taylor Sheridan attached. That explains the headline’s studio reference; it is not evidence that the Call of Duty filmmakers are working on Cyberpunk.

Is this the same project announced with Anonymous Content?
That connection has not been clarified. CD PROJEKT RED announced on October 5, 2023 that it was collaborating with Anonymous Content to develop a live-action project set in the game’s world. The announcement called it early-stage, said the team was seeking a screenwriter for a brand-new story, and named Anonymous Content Studios. It did not call the project a movie.
In an investor chat on August 29, 2025, CD PROJEKT RED said the Anonymous Content project remained at a very early stage and that updates were not imminent. The October 2026 reports do not say whether the Paramount film is related to that project. It would be premature to describe the earlier project as cancelled, replaced, or merged.

What is the film based on?
Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world action role-playing game set in Night City, where players control V, a mercenary. The film’s setting connects it to that universe, but the reports do not say that it adapts the game’s specific campaign. TheWrap’s October 8, 2026 report says the game had sold more than 40 million copies and its Phantom Liberty expansion 15 million; those totals are attributed here to TheWrap, whose cited passage does not identify an original publisher or date for the figures.
