To use custom website tags in Hostinger dashboard, open Websites, click the three-dot options menu beside a site, choose Add tag, and then create labels from Manage tags. Once your labels exist, the Tags dropdown next to the Websites search bar lets you show only the sites in a group. Hostinger documents this feature for its web and cloud hosting plans.
Check that your plan supports tags
Hostinger’s help article on custom tags says the feature is available on its web and cloud hosting plans. It does not state availability for other Hostinger products, including VPS plans, so do not assume the same menu will appear there. If you are on a web or cloud hosting plan and the options described below do not appear, confirm your plan first before troubleshooting further.
The tag controls live in the Websites section of the dashboard. Hostinger’s separate guide to that section, How to use the Websites section in Hostinger, describes the site list where these menus appear.

Create a tag
Creating a tag happens from the site menu, not from a separate settings page. Follow these steps:
#1 Best Overall
- fast USA servers
- premium website hosting
- 99.9% Guaranteed uptime
- 30 day money back company guarantee
- Unlimited Bandwith
- Log in to hPanel and open Websites.
- Click the three-dot options menu beside any site and choose Add tag.
- Select Manage tags.
- Enter a tag name of 30 characters or fewer and click Save.
Hostinger says you can create as many tags as you need. Its examples, such as “Blog,” “Portfolio,” and “In progress,” are suggestions. Hostinger does not provide these as built-in tags, so you will create whichever labels suit your work.
Assign and remove tags on a site
Tags are attached one site at a time. Open the three-dot menu beside the specific website, select Add tag, and tick the checkbox for each label you want on that site. To remove a label from that site, untick its box. A single website can carry up to five tags.
Filter the Websites list by tag
Use the Tags dropdown beside the search bar in Websites. Select the tag or tags you want to view.

When you select more than one tag, the list shows only websites that match all of the selected tags. Selecting “Blog” and “In progress” therefore returns sites that have both labels, not sites with either one. If a filtered list looks empty, remove tags from the selection one at a time to find the combination that produces results.
Rename, create, or delete tags
To manage the full list of labels, open the tag dropdown and choose Manage tags. From this screen you can:
- Rename an existing tag.
- Create new tags.
- Delete a tag by clicking the bin icon beside it.
Hostinger’s article does not explain what happens to sites that already carry a tag you delete. After deleting a label, check the sites it was previously applied to and reapply any labels you still need.
Choose a naming scheme that stays useful
Tags work best when they answer two questions about each site. The first is content or site type, such as blog, portfolio, or shop. The second is project status, such as active, draft, or maintenance. Keeping each category to a small, consistent set makes the multi-tag filter more useful, because a site can carry one label from each group and you can narrow the list by combining them.
Use lowercase or title case consistently, and avoid near-duplicates such as “Client A” and “ClientA,” since they will appear as separate options in the dropdown.

Hostinger’s help center is also the primary reference for tag behavior, so check it before relying on tag filters for client reporting or billing decisions.
