Paramount+ did raise prices, but the U.S. increase took effect on January 15, 2026—not in October. A 2026 price guide reports Essential at $8.99 per month or $89.99 per year and Premium at $13.99 per month or $139.99 per year. Your renewal amount may differ if you have a promotion, legacy plan, bundle, taxes, or third-party billing, so check the price and date shown by your account or billing provider.
How much does Paramount+ cost now?
The following are reported U.S. prices after the January 2026 increase, according to Tom’s Guide’s 2026 price coverage. Paramount’s May 2026 filing confirms that January increases were implemented for both tiers, but does not state these U.S. amounts.

The annual-plan increases were larger in dollar terms than the $1 monthly increases. These are general U.S. list prices, not a guarantee of what an existing subscriber will be charged; account-specific offers, bundles, billing arrangements, and taxes can affect the amount.

The U.S. rates above took effect January 15, 2026, according to the price guide. Paramount’s May 2026 filing says increases were implemented in January across Essential and Premium in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Latin America. It does not provide the exact rates for those markets, so the U.S. prices should not be applied elsewhere.

Because the increase is not new as of October 2026, check your own renewal notice or account rather than assuming a recent charge reflects a fresh October price change.
Why did Paramount raise prices?
Paramount said the increase would support investment in the service and programming. In a 2025 investor statement, the company said: “These changes will fuel continued reinvestment in the user experience and deliver an even stronger slate of programming for our customers in the year ahead and beyond.” In its May 2026 filing, Paramount also said the January increases were in line with expectations and allowed it to continue reinvesting in the business.

That is Paramount’s stated rationale, not independent evidence that a particular improvement was delivered or that every subscriber received a specific benefit.
Which plan makes sense after the increase?
The price alone does not settle the choice. Compare the plan’s current features with how you watch, then weigh the annual commitment against the monthly total.

Essential
The 2026 price guide describes Essential as ad-supported. At the reported annual rate of $89.99, paying monthly for 12 months at $8.99 would total $107.88 before any applicable taxes. The guide does not establish whether every account can switch between monthly and annual billing on the same terms; check the options presented to you.
Premium
The price guide describes Premium as including Paramount+ and Showtime library content, ad-free on-demand viewing, offline downloads, and a local CBS live feed. Those details can change, so verify the current plan comparison on Paramount+ before switching. At the reported annual rate of $139.99, 12 monthly payments of $13.99 would total $167.88 before any applicable taxes.

- Consider how often you watch Paramount+ content; a plan you rarely use may not justify its recurring cost.
- Check the current ad policy and included features rather than relying on an old plan description.
- Compare the annual commitment with the cost of paying monthly for the period you expect to subscribe.
- Use the price and renewal date shown in your account or through the company that bills you as the deciding figures.
How to check your renewal price and cancel
Paramount’s U.S. terms say subscriptions renew at the then-current price unless canceled or otherwise changed. The signup page shows the plan price and currency. Paramount may change prices with notice; its terms say a change will not take effect during the current billing period, and subscribers who do not want to continue at the changed price may cancel before the next billing period. Third-party subscriptions can be governed by the partner’s separate terms.
- Identify who bills you. Check your Paramount+ account or payment statement to see whether the subscription is billed directly by Paramount or through an app store, provider, or other service.
- Check the renewal details. Review the price, currency, plan, and next billing date in the account or billing provider’s subscription settings. Paramount’s subscription-plan help page provides account guidance; the amount shown for your subscription is the relevant one.
- Decide before renewal. If you do not want to pay the upcoming price, cancel before the next billing period begins, following the instructions for your billing channel.
- Use the correct cancellation route. Direct subscribers can manage or cancel through their Paramount+ account. If an app store, provider, or other service bills you, manage or cancel with that third party.
For a direct Paramount+ subscription, cancellation ordinarily takes effect at the end of the current billing period, so access continues until then. Do not assume the same timing for a third-party subscription; check the partner’s terms.

Could a provider bundle lower your bill?
Check whether your TV, wireless, or another existing provider includes a Paramount+ benefit, but verify the offer directly with that provider before relying on it. Paramount’s terms recognize third-party subscriptions and bundles. A May 2024 Paramount and Charter announcement described distribution of Paramount+ Essential and Paramount+ with Showtime through Spectrum; it does not establish that a particular bundle or discount is available to you now.
Before enrolling or switching, confirm the included tier, price, renewal date, and cancellation process with the provider. A bundle’s terms may differ from a direct Paramount+ subscription.
