PNY announced three USB-C flash drives on February 4, 2025: the PRO Elite V3 Type-C, Elite-X Fit Type-C and Elite Type-C. The PRO Elite V3 is the fastest and highest-capacity option on paper, while the smaller Elite-X Fit prioritizes a compact form. PNY positions the Elite Type-C for everyday storage. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance-test results.
What PNY announced
PNY’s February 4, 2025 announcement expanded its Type-C flash-drive lineup with three models. Each uses a USB Type-C connector, but the published speed, capacity and use-case details differ by model. PNY’s announcement describes the product positioning; the Elite-X Fit product page provides additional speed information.
How the three drives compare
| Model | Maximum rated sequential speed | Capacity | Form and intended use |
|---|---|---|---|
| PRO Elite V3 Type-C USB 3.2 Gen 2 | Up to 1,000MB/s read and 800MB/s write, per PNY’s February 2025 announcement | 256GB to 2TB, per PNY’s February 2025 announcement | PNY positions it for creators, designers and gamers handling large files; exact dimensions are not stated in the cited announcement. |
| Elite-X Fit Type-C USB 3.2 | Up to 200MB/s read and 100MB/s write, per PNY’s product page accessed in 2026 | Not stated in the cited announcement or product page | PNY emphasizes an ultra-compact design for Type-C devices; exact dimensions are not stated in the cited materials. |

The speeds are maximum manufacturer ratings, not guarantees of sustained transfer rates. Actual throughput can vary with the host device, USB port, file sizes and workload.
Which PNY USB-C flash drive should you choose?
Choose PRO Elite V3 for speed and capacity
Of these three drives, the PRO Elite V3 has the highest published speed rating and the clearest capacity range. Its rated maximum of 1,000MB/s read and 800MB/s write, and capacities from 256GB to 2TB, make it the model PNY targets at large creative and gaming files. Those specifications alone do not establish that every workflow—such as recording 4K video directly to the drive—will be supported; compatibility and sustained performance depend on the recording device and workload.

Choose Elite-X Fit for a compact drive
PNY highlights the Elite-X Fit’s ultra-compact shape and rates it up to 200MB/s read and 100MB/s write. That makes it the lineup’s portability-focused option among the models with published speeds here. PNY’s cited materials do not establish its capacity options.
Consider Elite Type-C for routine storage
PNY describes the Elite Type-C as an everyday-use model, but its announcement does not provide a full speed or capacity table. Check the specific listing or product documentation for those details before comparing it with the other two drives.

Is the PRO Elite V3 USB-C, and how much storage does it offer?
Yes. The model in the February 2025 announcement is the PRO Elite V3 Type-C USB 3.2 Gen 2 Flash Drive. PNY lists capacities from 256GB through 2TB for this Type-C model. This range differs from PNY’s 2024 announcement for the earlier, non-Type-C PRO Elite V3, which listed 256GB to 1TB. Confirm that a listing is for the Type-C version when checking specifications.
What the specifications do not tell you
PNY’s cited announcement and product page establish manufacturer claims and intended positioning, not independent benchmark results. They also do not establish current retail prices or stock, review scores or warranty terms. Check current manufacturer or retailer information for those details.
