Nintendo Music app downloads let you listen offline, but Nintendo’s published support instructions do not explain how to remove downloaded tracks or show how much space they use. The web version does not support downloads or offline playback. If you need to reclaim space, check your phone’s app-storage settings or contact Nintendo Music Support; neither is documented as a Nintendo-verified download-removal workflow.

Nintendo confirms this distinction in its offline-listening FAQ, updated June 2, 2026. The support material does not state how much storage downloads consume.
How to free space used by downloads
Nintendo’s reviewed support instructions do not specify a menu path for deleting downloaded tracks or reclaiming their space. Do not assume that deleting app data is Nintendo’s recommended method; it could affect app data beyond downloaded music.
For a device-level view, consult your phone’s current app-storage settings to see whether Nintendo Music is using space, or ask Nintendo Music Support for removal instructions for your app version and device. The available Nintendo guidance does not establish that those phone settings provide a supported way to manage individual music downloads.

Why a Nintendo Switch microSD card will not manage phone downloads
Nintendo’s Switch instructions cover downloadable console software, not Nintendo Music files on a phone. A Switch microSD card therefore is not documented as a way to expand phone storage or move or delete Nintendo Music downloads. If downloaded music stops playing offline
Nintendo says downloaded tracks can expire after an extended period offline. For support codes 9009-2201 or 9010-2101, its guidance dated September 2, 2026 recommends reconnecting to the internet and leaving the app running for about 30 minutes. On iOS, keep the app in the foreground during that time.

Nintendo also reports a possible Android issue after app version 1.7: downloaded tracks may fail to play offline even for users who reconnect regularly. If the reconnection steps do not resolve the error, consult Nintendo Music Support rather than treating the playback problem as a storage-management issue.
