Set up a 1440p OLED by checking the exact monitor model’s manual, connecting it through a supported input, selecting 2560 × 1440 and the highest refresh rate your full setup supports, then enabling compatible VRR and HDR features. Keep the monitor’s OLED-care functions enabled and follow its own instructions for pixel cleaning; ports, limits, menus, and maintenance routines differ by model.

1. Check your monitor’s exact model and manual

“1440p OLED” describes a category, not a standard set of ports or features. Find the model number on the monitor label, packaging, or its on-screen menu, then open the manufacturer’s official support page and download the owner’s manual or quick-start guide. Use that guide for assembly, supported connections, on-screen display (OSD) menus, and care instructions.

For example, LG identifies the 27GS93QE-B as a 27-inch 1440p OLED monitor with a 240 Hz refresh rate, G-Sync Compatible and FreeSync Premium Pro support. ASUS lists the PG27AQDM as a 26.5-inch, 2560 × 1440 OLED with a 240 Hz maximum refresh rate. Those specifications apply to the named models—not every 1440p OLED. 2. Assemble and connect the display

  1. Assemble the stand and place the monitor as directed in its included guide. Avoid assuming that another model’s stand, mounting instructions, or menu layout will be the same.
  2. Connect the monitor to your PC or console using an input supported by both devices. Check the manual for the monitor’s input capabilities and the source device’s output limits; the port, cable, monitor, and graphics source all affect which display modes are available.
  3. If you use a PC, connect the display to the graphics output you intend to use. Turn on the monitor and source device, then select the connected input in the monitor’s OSD if it does not switch automatically.

Do not choose a cable or port based only on the phrase “1440p OLED.” For instance, ASUS lists one DisplayPort 1.4 input with DSC and two HDMI 2.0 inputs for the PG27AQDM. Those are model-specific details, not a universal connection recipe. ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM specifications

3. Set the resolution and refresh rate

In the source device’s display settings, choose 2560 × 1440 and then select the highest refresh rate actually offered for your monitor, input, cable, and source combination. A 240 Hz specification on a particular monitor does not guarantee that every connected device or input will offer 240 Hz.

After applying the setting, check that the display is running at the selected resolution and refresh rate. If the rate you expect is missing, consult the monitor manual and the current instructions for your operating system and graphics hardware. Check the connection and supported modes before assuming the monitor is faulty; the available rate depends on the whole signal path.

  • Center of Vision: At 26.5-inches, the X27U is directly in your field of view. Considered a hallmark of eSports tournaments, this is the perfect size to gain an edge over your opponents. The addition of a ZeroFrame design also removes the bezels – giving you have even more visibly over every match and every movement your rivals make.

4. Enable VRR only when the complete setup supports it

Variable refresh rate (VRR), sometimes shown as Adaptive-Sync or under a vendor-specific name, requires compatible support across the monitor, the selected input, and the source device. Confirm the monitor’s capabilities in its manual and the graphics card or console documentation before enabling the feature. Then use the monitor’s OSD and the source platform’s current display or graphics settings as directed by their manufacturers.

5. Configure HDR if your monitor and source support it

First confirm that HDR is supported by the monitor, the input you are using, and the PC or console. If all three support it, enable HDR through the source platform’s current settings and follow that platform’s HDR setup or calibration flow. Avoid copying slider values from an unrelated monitor: the available controls and appropriate results depend on the display and source.

The LG 27GS93QE-B product listing includes HDR True Black 400, but that model-specific specification does not establish HDR support or a recommended configuration for other 1440p OLED monitors. LG 27GS93QE-B support page

6. Keep the model’s OLED-care features enabled

OLED care options are manufacturer- and model-specific. Leave the protective features enabled unless the manual directs otherwise, and follow its instructions for automatic or manual cleaning routines. Do not unplug the monitor or interrupt a cleaning cycle while it is running.

Samsung OLED care

Samsung documents Pixel Shift, logo-brightness adjustment, Screen Optimization, and optional Pixel Refresh for supported OLED monitors. Its support page says Screen Optimization takes 10–15 minutes on supported models and warns against interrupting Pixel Refresh when available. Samsung describes burn-in or image retention as “when a static image becomes a permanent fixture on your screen, regardless of the content being displayed.” Use the care options and timing specified for your model. Samsung Support: OLED monitor care

7. Avoid one-size-fits-all picture settings

There is no universal brightness, white point, gamma, or color recipe established for every 1440p OLED. Start with the picture mode and guidance in your monitor’s manual, then use the source platform’s HDR workflow if applicable. Calibration software is not a general setup requirement: LG lists Calibration Studio downloads for certain models, but that does not make the software necessary for every OLED display. LG 27GS93QE-B support page

8. Find manuals, firmware, and model-specific help

Return to the manufacturer’s official support page when you need the current manual, firmware, or software downloads. Check that any file or instruction is intended for your exact model. Updates and calibration utilities are optional unless the manufacturer’s instructions or a specific issue make them relevant; neither is a universal setup prerequisite.
