Nolan North is open to playing Nathan Drake again, but his comments are not confirmation that a new Uncharted game is in development or that he has been cast. In a report published October 5, 2026, GameSpot said North had not heard about a new game in which he might return and had not been asked to come back.
Would Nolan North return as Nathan Drake?
Yes, North has said he would be willing to reprise the role. GameSpot reported that he made the comments at Gamergy in Puerto Rico, saying: “110%. Absolutely. I think it would be one of the biggest games ever if they decided to do it. It just depends if Sony wants to make money.”
GameSpot also quoted him saying: “I absolutely would. I try to stay in shape just in case. I can’t see a scenario where I would say no. I always keep out hope.” These are North’s remarks as presented by GameSpot; the report’s wording has not been independently checked against an event recording or transcript.

North’s enthusiasm comes with a concern about protecting the series’ legacy. GameSpot reported that he did not want a new entry to fall short of the franchise’s standard and recounted his comparison to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The same report quoted him saying: “It is a business-my god, can you imagine if they did? It would be the biggest announcement in gaming. I don’t think that’s hyperbole. I think that’s true.”

Is Uncharted 5 confirmed?
No announcement or release date is confirmed in GameSpot’s October 5, 2026 report. It describes discussion of a new mainline game as rumor and says North had not heard about a game in which he could return or been approached to reprise Drake. His hypothetical willingness should not be read as evidence of a production plan, casting decision, or release schedule.
What can you play while waiting?
Sony’s official UNCHARTED: Legacy of Thieves Collection page lists the collection for PS5 and PC. It includes Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy; it is an existing release, not a sequel announcement or an indication that Uncharted 5 is available to preorder.
