The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge prioritizes a slim, light design and a sharper display, while the India-market OnePlus 15R lists a faster-refreshing screen, a much larger battery and 80 W wired charging. Their camera specifications differ, but the numbers alone do not establish which takes better photos. A reliable current price difference cannot be calculated from the available figures: they cover different countries, dates and offer conditions.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs OnePlus 15R: key specs

Software and support Android; Samsung lists security updates through May 31, 2032 (Samsung US specifications) OxygenOS 16 (OnePlus India specifications); an equivalent support end date is not stated in that source

The specifications come from Samsung US and OnePlus India sources, so they do not establish that every configuration or feature is identical in all markets.

Which phone is thinner and lighter?

The Galaxy S25 Edge is documented as 5.8 mm thick and 163 g. Those figures make its slim, light construction a clear point of distinction in the available specifications. The inspected OnePlus 15R source does not state dimensions or weight, so a direct size-and-weight comparison is not possible from these sources.

Display: higher resolution or higher refresh rate?

Samsung lists a 6.7-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with an adaptive 1–120 Hz refresh rate. OnePlus lists a 1.5K display with a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz. Samsung therefore specifies the higher resolution, while OnePlus specifies the higher peak refresh rate. Those numbers describe different display characteristics; they do not by themselves determine overall display quality or smoothness in every app.

Camera hardware: what the numbers do—and do not—tell you

Samsung lists a 200 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), 2x optical-quality zoom and a 12 MP ultrawide. OnePlus lists a 50 MP Sony IMX906 main camera with OIS, an 8 MP ultrawide and a 32 MP autofocus front camera; Samsung lists a 12 MP front camera.

Megapixel counts and component specifications are not a controlled image-quality comparison. The available sources do not establish which phone produces better photos, video or low-light results.

Battery capacity and charging claims

The OnePlus 15R’s listed 7,400 mAh capacity is substantially larger than the Galaxy S25 Edge’s 3,900 mAh typical capacity. OnePlus also specifies 80 W SUPERVOOC charging and says its test setup takes the phone from 1% to 50% in around 23 minutes. That is a manufacturer claim, not an independent result; OnePlus notes that real charging and battery life vary with conditions and use.

Samsung lists up to 24 hours of video playback for the S25 Edge in the US and describes its battery capacity as typical. These figures are not directly comparable: they come from different manufacturers and describe different measures. No independent head-to-head endurance or charging test is established here, and real runtime depends on settings, network and usage.

Software and update support

Samsung’s US specification page lists Android and security updates through May 31, 2032. The OnePlus India product page lists OxygenOS 16 but does not state an equivalent support end date. That omission does not establish how long OnePlus will support the phone; it means a like-for-like support-period comparison cannot be made from these product-page details. Software features and support can also vary by region.

Price difference: the available figures are not comparable

Samsung announced US launch prices on May 12, 2025, with general availability beginning May 30, 2025. OnePlus India displayed a time-limited bank offer for September 2026. Neither figure is a current matched-market checkout price as of October 5, 2026.

Phone and market Published price evidence What it means
Galaxy S25 Edge, US $1,099.99 for 256 GB and $1,219.99 for 512 GB at US launch, announced May 12, 2025 (Samsung launch announcement) Historical launch MSRP, not a current checkout quote
OnePlus 15R, India ₹50,999 for 12 GB/256 GB in a bank-offer table dated September 1–30, 2026 (OnePlus India price page) The stated offer period ended before October 5, 2026; it is not a current price

Because the amounts are from different countries, dates, storage configurations and purchase terms, subtracting one from the other would not produce a meaningful price difference. For a useful comparison, check current local prices for the same storage capacity and include any bank, trade-in or promotional conditions.

Which one should you choose?

  • Consider the Galaxy S25 Edge if a documented thin, light build, QHD+ resolution, or its listed 200 MP main camera matters most to you.
  • Consider the OnePlus 15R if its listed 165 Hz display, substantially larger battery capacity or 80 W wired charging better fits your priorities.
  • Compare locally before buying if price is decisive: the available prices are not current, same-market quotes for matching configurations.
  • Look beyond specifications for camera or endurance decisions: the available material does not include independent head-to-head tests for image quality, battery life, performance or thermals.
