To deploy a React app, create its production build, publish the generated files to a host, configure client-side routing and build-time environment values, then test the live site. The exact build command and output folder depend on your project—Vite and Create React App, for example, use different defaults.
1. Identify your app’s build setup
Before choosing a host or entering build settings, check which tool the project uses. Open package.json and look at its scripts and dependencies. The scripts may show commands such as vite or react-scripts; the project may also use another framework or a custom setup.
This matters because a host needs the right build command and the folder containing the finished site. Do not assume that every React project uses the same command or output directory.
2. Create and inspect the production build
Run the production-build command defined for your project. For Vite, the command is vite build. Vite’s production build guide says the generated output is suitable for static hosting. For Create React App, follow the build script in the project; the Netlify setup guide documents react-scripts build for that setup.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
After the command completes, check that the expected output directory exists and contains the generated site files. Vite’s usual output folder is dist, while the documented Create React App setup uses build. Project configuration can change defaults, so verify the actual folder rather than relying on the framework name alone.
3. Choose a host and connect your project
A React app that builds into static files can be served by a static-site host. Vite’s static deployment guide documents Git-connected workflows and command-line deployment paths, including Netlify and Vercel. Netlify also documents connecting a repository or deploying with its CLI in its React setup guide.

For Git-connected hosting, choose the repository and the branch that should produce the production site. A common workflow uses previews for non-production branches and publishes the production branch to the main site. Check the host’s current setup flow and terms when selecting a provider; the cited setup documentation does not establish current prices, quotas, or service guarantees.
4. Set the build command and publish directory
In the host’s site settings, match the build command and publish directory to the project you identified in step 1. For the specific Create React App setup documented by Netlify, the command is react-scripts build and the publish directory is build. A Vite project commonly uses vite build and publishes dist, unless its configuration changes the output location.

If a deployment fails, first compare the host’s configured command and folder with the project scripts and the directory produced by a successful local build. A mismatch can leave the host with no files to publish or publish the wrong directory.
5. Configure client-side routes and environment values
Make direct route requests work
If your app uses history-based client-side routing, the host must serve index.html as a fallback for app routes. Without that fallback, navigating to a nested route from inside the app may work while opening or refreshing that same URL directly returns a 404. Follow the host’s rewrite or redirect instructions; the Create React App deployment documentation covers single-page app routing.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Set build-time variables safely
Add required build variables in the host’s environment-variable settings, using the prefix expected by your build tool. For Create React App on Netlify, variables prefixed with REACT_APP_ are available to browser-side JavaScript. Netlify explains framework-specific prefixes in its framework environment-variable guide.
Anything included in browser-side JavaScript can be inspected by site visitors. Use client-side variables for public configuration, not passwords, private API keys, or other secrets. Keep secrets on a server-side system designed to protect them.

6. Deploy and verify the live app
Start a deployment using the host’s Git workflow or CLI, then open the production URL after the build and publish steps finish. Check the parts of the site that matter to your users rather than treating a successful build as proof that the live app works.
Quick Recap
- Open the home page and confirm the main content and assets load.
- Open a nested route directly, then refresh it to check the route fallback.
- Exercise important forms, navigation, and other key interactions.
- Check behavior that depends on environment values or external services.
- If something fails, inspect the deployment’s build output and confirm the build command, publish directory, routing fallback, and required variables.
