In the cited Geekbench 6 comparisons, the Apple A15 Bionic leads single-core, but multi-core results disagree between publishers. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 leads NanoReview’s listed 3DMark graphics tests, while cross-platform AnTuTu totals should not be treated as directly comparable. The result depends on the benchmark, test method and the specific phone or tablet being measured.
What each chip is
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is Qualcomm’s 2022 flagship mobile platform; Apple’s A15 Bionic debuted in 2021 and is used in several iPhone and iPad generations. These are chips from different generations and ecosystems, tested in different devices and software stacks.
| Specification | Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 | Apple A15 Bionic |
|---|---|---|
| CPU configuration | Eight-core CPU, according to 91mobiles’ comparison (91mobiles) | Six-core CPU, according to 91mobiles’ comparison (91mobiles) |
| Graphics | Adreno 740, per 91mobiles (91mobiles) | Apple GPU; configuration varies by the A15 host device, and the cited comparison does not establish one core count for every product (91mobiles) |
| Process and peak CPU clock | 4 nm; up to 3.36 GHz, with a 3.19 GHz platform version also listed. Qualcomm says clock speed varies by platform version and directs buyers to device makers for the handset’s specification (Qualcomm) | Not stated in the cited sources |
| Connectivity features | Qualcomm lists Snapdragon X70 modem-RF, peak download speeds up to 10 Gbps, and Wi-Fi 7 support (Qualcomm) | Not stated in the cited sources |
Qualcomm also says its Adreno GPU delivers “25% faster graphics rendering” compared with the previous generation. That is Qualcomm’s vendor claim about generational improvement, not an independent test against A15 (Qualcomm announcement).
Geekbench 6: A15 leads single-core, multi-core depends on the sample
Both comparison publishers report higher A15 single-core scores, but their multi-core ordering differs. Their figures are separate publisher aggregates, not results from a single controlled test of the chips under identical device conditions.

| Publisher and reported sample context | Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (single / multi) | A15 Bionic (single / multi) |
|---|---|---|
| 91mobiles comparison; figures reported on its page, publication date not established, accessed 2026 Source | 2,023 / 5,564 | 2,244 / 5,152 |
| NanoReview Geekbench 6 comparison; reports samples of 132 and 37, respectively; publication date not established, accessed 2026 Source | 2,004 / 5,311 | 2,315 / 5,753 |
In these comparisons, A15’s single-core lead is consistent, while the multi-core winner changes: 91mobiles has Snapdragon ahead, and NanoReview has A15 ahead. That disagreement is a reason to check the actual device and benchmark conditions rather than treating an aggregate as a fixed property of every phone using the chip.
Geekbench’s live mobile chart is based on user-submitted results and updates regularly. It includes results from specific Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones and Galaxy Tab S9 variants, as well as A15 iPhones and iPads. Those submissions show observed device performance; they are not guaranteed scores for every device with the same chip (Geekbench chart).

AnTuTu: don’t compare Android and iOS totals as if they were equivalent
The two publishers both report higher Snapdragon totals, but the numbers are platform-specific and are not a reliable way to calculate a real-world performance margin between Android and iOS.
| Publisher and benchmark label | Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 | A15 Bionic |
|---|---|---|
| 91mobiles AnTuTu comparison; publication date not established, accessed 2026 Source | 1,611,015 | 1,286,140 |
| NanoReview AnTuTu 11 comparison; reports 238 versus 69 tests; publication date not established, accessed 2026 Source | 1,757,044 | 1,413,275 |
NanoReview explicitly cautions that Android and iOS AnTuTu results are not directly comparable. Treat these as the publishers’ reported platform results, not proof that one chip is a particular percentage faster in everyday use.

GPU and gaming results vary by workload
NanoReview’s listed graphics results favor Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in two 3DMark tests. They represent that comparison page’s samples, not a guarantee for every handset.
| NanoReview test | Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 | A15 Bionic |
|---|---|---|
| 3DMark Solar Bay | 5,312 | 3,765 |
| 3DMark Wild Life Extreme | 3,667 | 2,854 |
The GPU-compute comparison points the other way in NanoReview’s listed workload, but it uses Metal for A15 and OpenCL for Snapdragon. Because the APIs differ, it is not a clean like-for-like measurement (NanoReview).

NanoReview’s gaming table reports FPS from a ZTE Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro and warns that results may vary with game version, operating system and other factors. A single phone’s figures cannot establish how all Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 devices compare with A15 iPhones; device design and software are part of the result.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which chip is faster for your use?
- For short CPU tasks: the cited Geekbench 6 pages consistently give A15 the higher single-core result, but the measured device still matters.
- For multi-core CPU work: the cited Geekbench 6 aggregates conflict, so these results do not establish a universal winner.
- For graphics: NanoReview favors Snapdragon in the listed 3DMark tests, while its compute comparison is complicated by different APIs. Gaming FPS from one device should not be generalized to all phones.
- For AnTuTu: do not use Android-versus-iOS totals as a direct measure of which chip is faster; NanoReview explicitly says the results are not directly comparable.
For a purchase, compare the exact handset or tablet, not only its processor. Thermal design, battery, camera, software support, condition, price and regional configuration affect the whole-device choice; the benchmark sources do not settle those buying factors.

How to make a fair comparison
- Identify the exact devices. For example, 91mobiles lists Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 examples including Samsung Galaxy S23 and OnePlus 11, and A15 examples including the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 families. Confirm the precise model and regional configuration rather than assuming every listing uses the same variant (91mobiles).
- Match the test. Compare the same benchmark version and workload. Keep CPU single-core and multi-core separate, and do not treat a Metal result and an OpenCL result as identical tests.
- Check the sample and device. A publisher aggregate or a user-submitted Geekbench chart reflects tested devices and samples; it is not a guaranteed score for every product built around that processor.
- Use the benchmark that fits the question. For gaming, look for the exact game, device and test conditions; for a whole-phone decision, include factors benchmarks do not measure.
