Was the Forerunner 265 really at its lowest-ever price?
Tom’s Guide described $299 as the Forerunner 265’s cheapest-ever price when it published the November 2025 roundup. Harris-Fry wrote, “I hoped the Forerunner 265 would drop by $100 in the sales, so this $150 saving is an incredible deal for a fantastic AMOLED multisport watch.” That was his assessment of the reported offer then; it does not establish a current price or show that the watch has not been cheaper since.
To judge a new listing, compare its checkout price with recent price history for the exact model, size, and variant. A crossed-out list price alone cannot show whether the deal is unusually good.

How to choose among the models
For running and structured training
The Forerunner 55 was positioned as the beginner option. The Forerunner 165 adds an AMOLED display, while the Forerunner 265 was framed as a multisport choice with training analysis. The Forerunner 965 adds navigation to its tracking and analysis feature set. Choose based on the training depth and navigation features you will actually use, rather than the size of a past markdown.
For rugged use, outdoor navigation, or display preference
The Instinct 3 listing covered AMOLED and solar/MIP variants, so check the exact display and configuration before comparing prices. The Fenix 7X Pro was the large X model and offered a MIP display as an alternative to AMOLED; its cited “up to 37 days” battery figure was qualified for sunny conditions. The Epix Pro was presented as a rugged AMOLED adventure watch, while the Fenix 8 offer covered steel and titanium models at different reported prices.

For a thinner watch with maps
The Venu X1 was described as ultra-thin and equipped with maps and Garmin training features, but without dual-band GPS. If dual-band GPS matters to your use, that stated limitation is relevant when weighing it against other options.

How to verify a Black Friday Garmin offer before buying
- Open the retailer’s current product listing and confirm the exact watch, size, display, and material or solar variant.
- Check the seller shown on the listing, whether the item is in stock, and the final checkout price. A past deal report does not confirm today’s seller, availability, or price.
