The 77-inch Sony BRAVIA 8 is a 4K OLED Google TV with a 120 Hz panel and support for 4K/120, VRR, and ALLM gaming features. A deal report dated October 6, 2026, said an Amazon listing for a K-77XR8C variation was $1,598—over $900 off. That is a dated report, not confirmation that the offer is still live, and the suffix should be checked against the current listing before treating it as the same model as Sony’s K-77XR80.
What the reported Amazon deal says

Sony’s US retail product page identifies its 2024 77-inch BRAVIA 8 as model K-77XR80, while Sony’s support specifications page covers K-77XR80C. The deal report uses K-77XR8C variation. The available sources do not establish that these suffixes identify an identical retail package, so compare the exact listing identifier rather than assuming they are interchangeable.

What the 77-inch BRAVIA 8 offers for gaming
Sony specifies a 120 Hz OLED panel for K-77XR80C and lists HDMI features including 4K/120, variable refresh rate (VRR), and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). Sony also describes a Game Menu and Perfect for PS5 features on its product page. These are compatibility features, not a promise that every game will use them: Sony says a game title supporting VRR and/or 4K/120fps is required.
To benefit, the game and connected source device must support the relevant feature, and the connection must use a compatible TV input and settings. The cited specifications confirm the feature set, but do not state how many HDMI ports support each gaming feature. Check Sony’s port guidance and the exact setup requirements before planning a multi-device installation. Sony’s K-77XR80C specifications.

Movie and TV format support
Sony lists Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HLG compatibility. That broad format support can accommodate content mastered in different HDR formats, provided the streaming service or playback device supplies a compatible signal. Format compatibility alone does not establish that this set has better measured picture quality than another television.

What to verify before ordering
- Model: Match the full model suffix on the live listing to the television you intend to buy; the reported K-77XR8C variation is not explicitly established as identical to Sony’s K-77XR80 or K-77XR80C.
- Price and stock: Confirm the current checkout price and availability; the $1,598 figure is from an October 6, 2026 report.
- Seller and terms: Review who sells and ships the television, delivery arrangements, return window, and warranty information shown for that listing.
- Gaming setup: Confirm your console or PC, game, HDMI connection, and settings support the specific feature you want, such as 4K/120 or VRR.
How to judge the deal
The reported price may be compelling if the live listing is still available at $1,598 and its exact model and seller meet your needs. Do not calculate savings by comparing that listing with Sony’s separate K-77XR80 price: the identifiers and price references differ. For a meaningful comparison with another 77-inch OLED, match the exact model and current price, then compare HDR formats, gaming features and port support, operating system, independent picture testing, warranty, and return terms.
