Choose a login template by how people need to sign in—not just by how the screenshot looks. The 2026 Colorlib roundup lists 73 entries across several collections, including passwordless, SSO, two-step, and mobile-oriented designs. These are front-end starting points: the page itself does not authenticate users, and demo buttons for passkeys, Face ID, social sign-in, or SSO need a real provider integration.
What the 73-template roundup includes
Colorlib’s roundup, published September 28, 2026, describes 73 entries, but they are not 73 interchangeable Colorlib HTML pages. Its stated mix is 10 new Colorlib login pages for 2026, 61 earlier Colorlib forms, 10 uiCookies screens, and a WordPress plugin for restyling the WordPress admin login. The counts and collections are presented by Colorlib; check the individual item before downloading to confirm what it contains and which terms apply. Colorlib’s 2026 roundup
The new designs address distinct patterns: split-screen layouts, passkey or magic-link options, SSO, glassmorphism, identity-first two-step flows, one-time codes, mobile-app-style screens, illustrated forms, enterprise consoles, and a combined login/sign-up card. Treat these as visual and interaction starting points rather than working authentication features.

Choose a pattern that fits the sign-in flow
| Pattern | Useful when | Check before adopting |
|---|---|---|
| Password form | Your service already supports account-and-password sign-in. | Field labels, password-manager support, password visibility, and clear errors. |
| Passkey or magic link | Your authentication system supports a passwordless route. | The demo needs to be replaced or connected to a real authentication provider; provide a usable fallback if your product requires one. |
| Two-step or one-time code | Your sign-in process verifies identity in stages or asks for a code. | How the next step is triggered, how users recover from a missing or expired code, and whether the interface matches your actual flow. |
| SSO | Users sign in through an organization or identity provider. | Provider configuration and redirects are part of the integration, not the template. |
| Combined login and sign-up | Users may need to create an account as well as return to an existing one. | Keep the two actions and their consequences clear; connect each to the correct application flow. |
| Mobile-app-style or split-screen layout | You want a particular visual presentation or need a design that adapts across screen sizes. | Check the actual small-screen layout, keyboard behavior, and touch usability rather than judging a desktop preview alone. |
The Colorlib V07 demo describes 58 px fields. That is a design detail for that example, not a universal touch-target rule. Review the template in your own layout and test it on a phone before release. Colorlib’s roundup and demo notes

How the templates fit into a project
Colorlib HTML and CSS templates
Colorlib describes its templates as responsive HTML and CSS with small amounts of vanilla JavaScript. It says they do not require jQuery or Bootstrap files and can be used standalone or within Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 projects. That makes them a practical starting point if you want to adapt markup and styles without adopting a separate UI framework. Confirm the requirements of the specific download before integrating it. MDBootstrap alternative
If your project specifically uses Bootstrap 5, MDBootstrap offers a free login-page template and Bootstrap 5 login-form documentation. The template page states an MIT license. Check the current page and linked repository for the terms and implementation details that apply to the version you download. WordPress admin login plugin
The roundup also includes a plugin for restyling the WordPress admin login. That is a different kind of item from a standalone HTML form: confirm its compatibility and separate licensing terms on its own download page before using it.

A login template supplies the user-facing interface. It does not verify a password, establish a session, or connect to an identity provider by itself. Your application must handle submission and authentication through its server-side logic or a real authentication service. Form handling, password checks, HTTPS, session management, and provider integrations belong to that implementation, not to the appearance of the page.

Colorlib specifically notes that the social, passkey, Face ID, and SSO buttons in its 2026 demos are simulated and need a real provider connection. A button that looks functional in a preview is not evidence that an account can sign in through that method. Colorlib’s roundup
Check usability before you ship
- Allow password managers to recognize and fill the username and password fields using appropriate autocomplete attributes.
- Do not block password pasting; it supports password managers and other accessible workflows.
- Show errors as readable text near the relevant field, and make sure users can identify and correct the problem.
- Avoid different login errors that reveal whether a particular email address has an account.
- Check keyboard access, focus visibility, labels, and password-visibility controls in the adapted page.
- Test the form at narrow mobile widths and with the on-screen keyboard open; verify that fields and actions remain usable.
These are recommendations described in Colorlib’s roundup, not independent test results. The roundup’s 58 px field example is specific to its V07 demo, not a general standard.

Check the license before reuse
Colorlib says its own templates can be used in personal and commercial projects under CC BY 3.0 if the Colorlib credit link is retained. The roundup distinguishes the uiCookies set and the WordPress plugin as having separate terms, so do not assume Colorlib’s stated terms cover every item in the collection. Review the applicable download page before adapting, distributing, or removing attribution. Colorlib’s licensing notes

A practical way to adapt a template
- Pick the flow first. Decide whether your application uses passwords, passkeys, magic links, a second step, one-time codes, SSO, or a combined sign-in and registration experience.
- Choose a matching interface. Compare the layout and mobile behavior, then verify whether the download is standalone HTML/CSS, a Bootstrap-specific component, or a WordPress plugin.
- Review the exact license. Identify which provider supplied the item and preserve any required attribution or other conditions.
- Adapt the front end. Replace demo text, form fields, links, and visual assets with the ones appropriate to your product; keep labels and errors understandable.
- Connect the real authentication flow. Wire form submission to your server-side logic or authentication provider. Replace simulated social, passkey, Face ID, or SSO actions with actual integrations, or remove options your service does not support.
- Test the complete journey. Check keyboard and mobile use, password-manager behavior, error handling, and the successful and unsuccessful sign-in paths in the integrated application.
Which source to start with
For a framework-light page you can adapt in a broader web project, start with the relevant Colorlib HTML/CSS download and check its attribution requirement. For a Bootstrap 5-specific example, compare MDBootstrap’s free template and component documentation. If the goal is to change the WordPress admin login, evaluate the plugin separately rather than treating it as a page template. In every case, select by authentication flow, confirm reuse terms, and plan the working sign-in integration as a separate implementation task.
