MailerLite is a sensible starting point for a small business that wants a simple email-marketing workflow; Brevo may suit a large list that sends infrequently; and ActiveCampaign is the stronger fit for complex automation and CRM. For other needs, consider Omnisend for ecommerce, Kit for creators and newsletters, GetResponse for webinars and funnels, or Moosend for a lean team seeking automation.
There is no single best Mailchimp replacement. The right choice depends on how many contacts you store, how often you send, which automations and channels you need, and whether you sell products or publish a newsletter. Free-plan limits and paid prices change, so compare the live vendor plan against your actual list and sending volume before switching.
How to choose a Mailchimp alternative
Start with the job you need the platform to do, rather than its headline price. A low entry price can exclude the automation, integrations, or contact capacity you need, while a contact-based plan may cost more than a send-volume model for a large but quiet list.
Recommended Free Tools
- List size and sending frequency: Check both the number of stored contacts and the monthly or daily send allowance. Brevo’s send-volume pricing model may be worth considering when your list is large but campaigns are occasional.
- Automation depth: Identify the triggers, conditions, branching, and plan access your workflows require. Basic welcome emails do not necessarily justify a platform built for complex behavior-based automation.
- Channels: If you need SMS or WhatsApp as well as email, check whether the relevant channel is included in the plan and region you intend to use.
- Business type: Ecommerce purchase flows, creator monetization, and webinar registration are specialized needs. Choose a service with relevant tools rather than assuming a general newsletter platform will cover them.
- Total cost at your size: Compare the plan price for your contact count and expected sends, then confirm feature gates, billing period, and geography on the vendor’s own pricing page.
The figures below are not a guarantee of current pricing. A comparison published by Mailchimp Alternatives says it checked vendor pricing on July 11 and reverified prices on July 12, 2026; these are dated snapshots, not enduring plan terms. Vendor-authored and comparison pages can also report different free-plan limits, so verify the current terms before committing.

Seven Mailchimp alternatives to consider
1. MailerLite: straightforward email marketing for small businesses
MailerLite is a good first option for a small business, solo operator, or creator who wants a familiar campaign and newsletter workflow without making advanced automation the centerpiece. Its feature set is described as including automations, landing pages, websites, and ecommerce integrations. The company presents it as an easier, value-oriented alternative in its 2026 comparison guide.
Choose it when you want to get campaigns and basic audience journeys running with relatively little complexity. Check the current free-plan and paid-plan limits against your list size; published comparisons differ, and the available figures should not be treated as a stable threshold.
2. Brevo: a possible fit for large lists that send less often
Brevo is worth comparing if you keep many contacts but send campaigns infrequently. The cited comparisons describe its billing model as based on email volume rather than charging for every stored contact, and identify email and messaging channels as part of its broader offering. That model can be appealing when the contact count is high relative to send frequency.

Look closely at your expected monthly volume and any daily cap, then check regional pricing and which messaging channels are available on the plan you need. A July 2026 comparison listed a $9-per-month entry plan for 5,000 emails per month and a free sending cap of 300 per day; those are dated comparison figures, not a current quote. See the comparison’s published pricing snapshot and confirm details directly with Brevo before choosing.
3. ActiveCampaign: advanced automation and CRM
ActiveCampaign belongs on the shortlist when your team needs behavior-driven workflows, branching, or CRM capabilities. It is a more specialized choice than necessary for a basic newsletter, so map your required automation actions and team seats to the plans before moving your contacts.
A July 2026 comparison listed its starting price as $15 per month for 1,000 contacts. This is a dated snapshot; use ActiveCampaign’s comparison article for its positioning, then verify current pricing and plan gates with the vendor. Do not assume that a free plan is available.
Rank #3
4. Omnisend: email and SMS for ecommerce
Omnisend is aimed at online stores that want ecommerce-focused email and SMS campaigns, including prebuilt store automations. It is a more natural fit for a business running a shop than for a publisher or service business with no ecommerce flows.

Confirm that your store platform integrates with the service and that the automations and message channels you need are included at your intended tier. A July 2026 comparison listed a starting price of $16 per month for 500 contacts and a free sending cap of 500 per month. Treat both figures as dated snapshot details, not a present-day offer; consult the comparison page and the vendor’s current plan terms.
5. Kit: creators and newsletter businesses
Kit is a creator-oriented option for newsletter publishers and audience-based businesses. The comparison sources describe creator tools and monetization features such as paid newsletters and digital-product support, making it more relevant when your email list is part of a creator business than when you simply need a general-purpose marketing sender.
Kit’s free subscriber limits differ between published snapshots. A July 2026 comparison listed an entry paid plan at $33 per month for 1,000 subscribers and unlimited sends on its free plan; check the current Kit plan page for the applicable limit and feature access. The GetResponse comparison guide also outlines creator-focused alternatives.
6. GetResponse: webinars, funnels, and lead generation
Consider GetResponse when you want email automation alongside webinar or funnel workflows, potentially replacing a separate tool in your stack. The practical advantage depends on whether the specific webinar and funnel features you need are included in your plan; some capabilities may require a higher tier.
A July 2026 comparison listed a starting price of $19 per month for 1,000 contacts, but verify the live price and plan inclusions before relying on it. The vendor’s Mailchimp alternatives guide provides its feature comparison.

7. Moosend: automation for a lean team
Moosend may suit a small team that wants email automation at a lower-cost entry point. The 2026 comparisons characterize it as a lower-cost automation option, but a headline starting price alone will not show whether the plan includes the workflow capabilities, audience capacity, or sending volume you need.
Compare the live plan boundaries with your requirements before moving a list. The True Cost of Email comparison, updated October 5, 2026 according to its page, is one additional source for evaluating options at a particular list size.

The July 2026 comparison gives useful reference points, but the amounts are not directly comparable: they use different contact or sending thresholds, and the features attached to each plan may differ. They also do not establish a price for every geography, billing term, or list size.

These amounts and limits are from Mailchimp Alternatives’ 2026 comparison, which says prices were verified July 11 and rechecked July 12, 2026. The same snapshot lists Mailchimp’s free tier at 250 contacts and 500 monthly sends. Other comparison pages report different Mailchimp free-plan limits, so do not use that figure as a universal or current rule. No comparable dated price figure is established here for MailerLite or Moosend.
Make the switch without choosing by headline price
- Measure your real usage. Record active contacts, typical monthly sends, and peak campaign volume. Remove or suppress addresses you should not be mailing before using list size to compare plans.
- Write down the workflows you rely on. Include triggers, branches, purchase events, and any CRM handoffs. Check that a candidate’s specific plan supports each one.
- Check channels and integrations. Verify your store, CRM, forms, and any SMS or WhatsApp requirements against current vendor documentation and regional availability.
- Calculate the plan at your own scale. Compare the recurring price for your contact count and send volume, plus the plan tier needed for the features you will actually use.
- Test the transition. Confirm how the candidate handles contact fields, consent status, suppressions, templates, and automations before moving all campaigns. Keep the existing account available until critical workflows are working in the new service.
Which alternative is the best fit?
Use MailerLite as the simple small-business starting point; compare Brevo if your list is large and your send frequency low; and shortlist ActiveCampaign when automation and CRM are central requirements. Ecommerce stores should look at Omnisend, creators at Kit, and teams combining email with webinars or funnels at GetResponse. Moosend is an additional candidate for lean teams that want automation. In every case, the best-value choice is the plan that covers your actual contacts, sending, channels, and workflow needs—not necessarily the lowest advertised starting price.
