In Tom’s Guide’s tests of phones during calendar year 2025, the OnePlus 15 lasted longest, at 25 hours 13 minutes of continuous cellular web browsing. That is a result from one outlet’s test—not a promise of the same runtime in everyday use. Its annual top five also includes two phones named for 2026, so the list is best read as phones tested in 2025, not five models launched in 2025.
Tom’s Guide’s five longest-lasting phones tested in 2025
Tom’s Guide tests endurance by having phones browse the web continuously over a cellular connection until their batteries run out. These results are from that custom test and should be compared with one another only as Tom’s Guide’s measurements.
| Rank | Phone | Tom’s Guide runtime |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | OnePlus 15 | 25 hours 13 minutes |
| 2 | OnePlus 15R | 21 hours 54 minutes |
| 3 | Moto G 2026 | 19 hours 10 minutes |
| 4 | Moto G Play 2026 | 18 hours 45 minutes |
| 5 | iPhone 17 Pro Max | 17 hours 50 minutes |
Tom’s Guide reported that two phones in its 2025 testing exceeded 20 hours. It attributes the gains in its leading phones to silicon-carbon battery technology and more efficient chipsets, and reports a 7,300 mAh battery for the OnePlus 15. These results and explanations are Tom’s Guide’s; they do not establish how long a phone will last under a different workload or network.
The list is a calendar-year test roundup, not a launch-year list: the Moto G 2026 and Moto G Play 2026 names refer to 2026 models included in Tom’s Guide’s 2025 testing. For the figures and test description, see Tom’s Guide’s 2025 roundup.

Why battery-life rankings disagree
There is no single, shared battery test behind these rankings. A phone can lead one outlet’s workload and place differently in another because the test method and comparison set differ.
- Expert Reviews: Its ranking says the Galaxy S24 Ultra retained its crown, with the Galaxy S25 Ultra two minutes behind—within the test’s margin of error. This is a separate ranking, not a correction to Tom’s Guide’s annual results. See Expert Reviews’ battery-life ranking.
- TechRadar: In a comparison using continuous web surfing over 5G with screens set to 150 nits, it reported 19 hours 45 minutes for OnePlus 13, 17 hours 54 minutes for iPhone 17 Pro Max, 17 hours 14 minutes for Galaxy S25 Ultra, and 14 hours 20 minutes for Google Pixel 10 Pro XL. In that comparison, OnePlus 13 outlasted the other phones tested. See TechRadar’s comparison.
TechRadar also reported capacities of 6,000 mAh for OnePlus 13, 5,088 mAh for iPhone 17 Pro Max, 5,000 mAh for Galaxy S25 Ultra, and 5,200 mAh for Pixel 10 Pro XL. The differing runtimes show why capacity alone cannot tell you which phone will last longer: efficiency, screen use, connectivity, and test conditions also matter.

Choose a result that matches how you use your phone
Continuous browsing is useful for comparing phones under a consistent workload, but it is not the same as watching video, gaming, or using a phone intermittently through a mixed day. PhoneArena reports separate results for its battery-life estimate, browsing, video, and gaming categories; those figures belong to PhoneArena’s own tests and should not be merged with another outlet’s runtime figures.

| Phone | Battery-life estimate | Browsing | Video | Gaming | Capacity |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| OnePlus 15 | 10 hours 44 minutes | 30 hours 6 minutes | 12 hours 37 minutes | 14 hours 16 minutes | 7,300 mAh |
| OnePlus 13 | 7 hours 30 minutes | 21 hours 34 minutes | 9 hours 12 minutes | 8 hours 12 minutes | 6,000 mAh |

What to take from the numbers
- For the longest result in Tom’s Guide’s 2025 test: OnePlus 15 is the clear leader in that specific list, at 25 hours 13 minutes.
- For comparisons outside that test: Check the outlet’s workload, settings, and test date before treating one runtime as directly comparable with another.
- For your own daily use: Consider whether browsing, video, gaming, or a mixture best represents your habits; PhoneArena’s separate categories illustrate how a phone’s result can vary by workload.
- For battery capacity: Treat mAh as context, not a standalone endurance score. TechRadar’s comparison shows phones around 5,000–6,000 mAh delivering different runtimes under its stated conditions.
- For a two-day claim: Tom’s Guide describes the OnePlus 15 as capable of offering two days, but lab runtimes do not guarantee that outcome for every user. Workload, signal, settings, and conditions affect actual endurance.
These test results do not establish current prices, regional availability, or whether specific retail variants match the tested phones. Check the exact model and market before buying.
