I’d choose the Pixel 11 Pro over other Android phones if I wanted a compact flagship with Google’s camera features, Pixel software and long update commitment. Its bright display, flexible telephoto camera, Tensor G6 features and built-in magnetic charging make a persuasive case. But that is a preference, not proof that it is the best Android phone for everyone: the reviewer found benchmark performance a weakness, and the Pixel 10 Pro may be better value if it is discounted.
Google announced the Pixel 11 Pro on August 12, 2026, with retail availability beginning August 20. The launch announcement listed a US starting price of $1,099; check current local prices and offers before buying.
1. It puts a bright display in a relatively compact Pro phone
The Pixel 11 Pro has a 6.3-inch display with a 1–120Hz refresh rate, according to TechRadar’s September 3, 2026 review. That size is a useful middle ground for someone who wants a high-end phone that is easier to handle than a large-screen model, without giving up a fast-refreshing display.

Google says the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL have its brightest-ever Super Actua display, rated at up to 3,600 nits, and claims more than double the previous generation’s scratch resistance. Those are manufacturer claims, not independent lab measurements. Peak brightness also should not be read as a promise that the screen will sit at that level in ordinary use.
#1 Best Overall
- Attention-grabbing design meets the latest evolution of the Google Pixel Camera on the new Google Pixel 11 Pro; Gemini Intelligence helps manage details so you can live in the moment[1]; and the phone is available in two sizes
- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[2]
- Stay informed without looking at your screen: When your phone is face down, Pixel HiLight gently alerts you with subtle glowing lights when your favorite contacts are calling or you’re talking with Gemini; exclusive to Google Pixel 11 Pro phones
- Magic Capture catches the moment as you live it: With just one tap, Pixel 11 Pro captures video and photos, and automatically edits, crops, and unblurs a curated collection, ready to share – and you get the memory of how it felt to be in the moment
- Two new cameras for more brilliant photos: A larger telephoto sensor captures 30% more light for clear, beautiful photos and videos, even in the dark[3]; Pixel’s longest zoom ever helps you capture details from impressive distances[4]

2. The camera has useful reach and low-light features
For photography, the Pro model’s telephoto and computational features are a central reason to consider it. Google lists a 48-megapixel telephoto camera with 30% more light sensitivity than the previous generation, Portrait Mode at 5x, and Pro Zoom up to 120x. Google also says Night Sight captures up to 4.5 times faster. These are Google’s stated specifications and comparisons; zoom reach at 120x does not mean the image retains the detail of an optical zoom shot at that magnification.
The Associated Press describes Magic Capture and faster low-light capture among the new camera features. If you often photograph distant subjects, portraits or scenes after dark, the feature set looks more compelling than a camera spec sheet focused only on the main sensor. The available evidence establishes the features, not a head-to-head image-quality win over every rival Android camera.

3. Tensor G6 adds Pixel-specific features, though benchmarks remain a caveat
Google says Tensor G6 enables 25% faster web browsing and 15% quicker app launches, and that on-device AI tasks can run up to 3.5 times faster while using up to 3.5 times less energy. These are Google’s performance claims, not independent cross-phone test results.
In TechRadar’s review, the reviewer described everyday use as reliable and smooth but called benchmark performance a weakness. That distinction matters: a phone can feel responsive in daily tasks without leading synthetic performance tests. I’d put more weight on the Pixel features you will actually use than on Google’s percentages alone, especially if you play demanding games or care about peak benchmark scores.

Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors4. Seven years of updates make the ownership case easier
Google promises seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates for its latest phones, including the Pixel 11 Pro. For buyers who keep a phone for several years, that published commitment is more useful than a short-term feature advantage alone.

Google also announced six months of Google AI Pro with its Pro phones. The offer includes higher Gemini usage, 5TB of cloud storage and Google Health Premium, according to Google; the Associated Press also reported the six-month inclusion. Treat it as a launch-period offer and check eligibility and current terms before counting its services as part of the phone’s value.

5. Pixelsnap makes wireless charging and magnetic accessories more convenient
Google lists built-in Pixelsnap magnets and Qi 2.2 25W wireless-charging compatibility for the Pixel 11 Pro. TechRadar also reports 25W wireless charging and found the built-in magnets useful with compatible wallets, mounts and magnetic charging pads. That can simplify lining up a charger or attaching an accessory without relying on a separate magnetic case.

Compatibility and charging speed depend on the particular charger or mount. A magnetic accessory is not automatically a 25W charger, so check the accessory’s stated Qi 2.2 support and the phone’s charging requirements.
The reviewer also tested wired charging with a 45W adapter. With Extreme Charging Mode enabled, the phone reached 25% after 15 minutes, 86% after an hour and full charge in under 90 minutes. Without that mode, the reviewer recorded 24% after 15 minutes, 71% after an hour and a full charge in 1 hour 45 minutes. These are TechRadar’s results under its test conditions, not guaranteed charging times.

What the Pixel 11 Pro costs—and when I’d choose another phone
At launch, TechRadar reported the 256GB/12GB Pixel 11 Pro at $1,099 in the US, £1,079 in the UK and AU$1,849 in Australia. Its reported 512GB/16GB tier was $1,219, £1,199 and AU$2,049, respectively. These are launch-period reported prices, not a guarantee of today’s local price.
Best Value
- Google Pixel’s iconic design meets the latest evolution of the Pixel Camera on the new Pixel 11; Gemini Intelligence helps manage details so you can stay perfectly present[1]
- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[2]
- Sleek, solid, and built to last: Pixel 11 has the slimmest camera bar yet in its class, a smooth satin back, and ultra-durable glass and IP68 water and dust protection, so it’s intentionally built to stay strong for years[3,4]
- Long battery life: With 30+ hours of reliable power and upgraded wireless charging, your Google Pixel 11 can charge 25% faster than before[5,6]; it even powers up to 55% in about 30 minutes with ultra-fast wired charging[7]
- The latest evolution of the Google Pixel Camera: Take super crisp closeups with an upgraded 30x Super Zoom[3]; Night Sight takes clear photos, portraits, and panos in low-light settings
The Pixel 10 Pro is the most relevant alternative in the available comparison. TechRadar says it nearly matches many Pixel 11 Pro specifications, while the older model avoided the new phone’s price increase and was discounted at the time of review. Before paying extra for the 11 Pro, compare current local prices, storage and RAM, the camera features you will use, remaining software support and your charging needs. The newer phone makes most sense when its new camera or AI features matter enough to justify the difference.
The battery picture also depends on expectations: TechRadar lists a 4,850mAh battery and reports Google’s estimate of more than 30 hours, alongside up to 30W wired and 25W wireless charging. Its charging test shows that the mode and conditions affect how quickly the phone refills; it does not establish a guaranteed everyday battery life or charge time.
