The right leaf-clearing tool depends on where the leaves have landed and whether you want to move them into a pile or collect them as you go. A rake offers close control; a blower moves leaves quickly but leaves pickup for later; and a sweeper gathers debris into a catcher. For a lawn, the robot-mower option discussed here needs a separate sweeper attachment—the mower alone is not doing the leaf collection.
Choose by surface and leaf load
| Tool | Best fit | What it does | Watch for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Garden rake | Small areas and places where you need close control | Gathers leaves into piles manually | Requires physical effort and a separate way to collect or move the pile |
| Leaf blower | Moving leaves across open areas into a pile | Blows leaves together; a blower-vac can also suck them into a bag | Leaves blown into a pile still need pickup. Check local noise rules. |
| Push lawn collector | Mown grass with light debris | Wheel-driven brushes collect material in a basket | Long grass, wet leaves and uneven ground can reduce pickup; larger solid objects may need hand removal. |
| Artificial-grass sweeper | Artificial turf | Brushes debris into a collection bag | It is designed for artificial grass, not a general-purpose lawn collector. |
| Robot mower with sweeper attachment | Those seeking an integrated lawn-maintenance setup | A separate attachment sweeps leaves and clippings into a catcher | Collection depends on the attachment; this is a more complex setup than a rake or blower. |
| Leaf grabber | Hand collection of loose leaves and debris | Scoops material up for transfer | It is a manual pickup aid, not a tool for moving leaves across a large area. |
Five tools to consider
1. Mammotion YUKA with its Sweeper attachment
This is the robot-mower option, but the leaf-collection function comes from the Sweeper attachment. T3’s article, published 26 September 2026, says the attachment uses a motorised comb to sweep leaves and grass clippings into a catcher. The article relays a reviewer’s observation that it collected “the vast majority of grass clippings and about 90% of leaves”; that is a review-specific result, not a general performance guarantee. Check current regional availability and compatibility before buying.
2. EGO Power+ LB5302 Cordless Leaf Blower
T3 describes the LB5302 as a cordless handheld blower and reports up to 75 minutes of runtime. Treat that as the article’s product claim and check the current model specifications before purchase. A blower is useful when the immediate job is to gather leaves into a pile; it does not collect them unless you choose a blower-vac with a bag.
3. Hyundai 1500W Electric Artificial Grass Sweeper
T3 lists a 1500W motor, 3000 RPM, a 30-litre collection bag, four brush-height settings and a 10-metre cable. These are details reported by the article; verify the current specifications and availability in your region. Its intended surface is artificial grass, so it is a different choice from a lawn sweeper for mown natural grass.

5. Apollo Leaf Grabber
T3 describes the Apollo as a hand-held scoop for gathering leaves and debris. It suits the pickup stage—lifting leaves into a container or bag—rather than shifting them across a lawn or deck.

Blowers and blower-vacs
Check regional noise rules before using a leaf blower. Kärcher warns that coarse twigs, flowerbed soil and wet leaves can block or damage a blower-vac. Wet leaves on decking can also be messy and slippery, as T3’s author notes; clear them carefully rather than treating blowing as a complete cleanup.
Lawns, beds and wildlife
A thick layer of leaves on a lawn can shade the grass, so it is usually worth clearing heavy coverage. Light leaf fall may be mulched with a mower, but Troy-Bilt advises against mowing leaves when the lawn is heavily covered.

Under trees and hedges, leaves do not always need to be removed. Kärcher notes that they can protect small animals and provide frost protection. Avoid leaving piles so thick that they block air from reaching the soil.
Collect and dispose of leaves
Troy-Bilt suggests gathering leaves on a tarp for easier movement. Depending on local rules, you can use green-waste collection, compost the leaves or chop them for mulch. Green-waste requirements differ by location, so check your local collection guidance before putting leaves out.
