Four Ryobi tools have drawn recurring owner complaints in a 2026 review summary: an 80V 30-inch mower, an 18V mower/trimmer/edger, an 18V SWIFTClean spot cleaner, and an 18V handheld sprayer. The reported issues are specific to these products and their intended jobs; they do not establish that Ryobi tools overall are unreliable. Identify the exact mower
Ryobi’s current listing identifies the 80V HP Brushless 30-inch Self-Propelled Multi-Blade Mower Kit as model RYPM8010. Ryobi says it is intended for up to one acre and advertises “Ideal for 1 Acre With up to 90 Min. Runtime” using an 80V 10Ah battery. Those are manufacturer claims, not independent runtime or acreage test results. A 30-inch deck may suit open space, but the reported maneuverability concerns make it worth considering how much room your yard leaves for turning and navigating obstacles. Ryobi’s RYPM8010 product listing also identifies the ACPM01 30-inch replacement multi-blade system.

Ryobi 18V 3-in-1 mower, trimmer, and edger: convenience versus runtime
SlashGear reported a 3.5/5 Home Depot rating for this combination tool. Its review summary described short runtime on the 18V platform, along with owner reports of failure where the head attaches to the body and wear in the plastic teeth used by the mode-switching shaft.
These are reported complaints, not a verified defect rate. The trade-off to weigh is whether having mowing, trimming, and edging functions in one tool suits a small yard better than the reported runtime and durability concerns. If your job requires extended use, consider whether the tool’s battery setup will cover it; the available account does not establish a model-specific runtime or a failure frequency.

Ryobi 18V One+ SWIFTClean: check extraction needs and generation
SlashGear reported a 3.6 Home Depot rating and a similarly low Amazon rating, without specifying the exact generation or review counts. The concern it summarized was that the cleaner could spray solution but fail to extract enough liquid, leaving fabric too wet.

Because it supplied no model-specific review data, verify the exact generation before applying those reports to a particular unit. If keeping upholstery as dry as possible or cleaning vertical surfaces is central to your use, extraction performance and the model’s intended surfaces deserve particular attention.

Ryobi One+ handheld sprayer: confirm chemical compatibility
SlashGear reported 3.6 ratings on both Amazon and Home Depot. The complaints it summarized involved pressure and spray-pattern dissatisfaction, as well as damage or clogging associated with harsher or unsuitable products.
The article says Ryobi recommends water-soluble chemicals and cautions that dilution may be needed. Do not assume a particular cleaner is safe for the sprayer: check the manual for the exact model, including its compatibility, dilution, cleaning, and maintenance directions. A sprayer that does not meet your pressure or spray-pattern needs may also be a poor fit even when used with an approved solution.

What to verify before you buy or keep one
- For the 30-inch mower: confirm the model, assess obstacles and slope, and decide whether its deck size fits your yard’s layout.
- For the 3-in-1 tool: weigh the convenience of multiple functions against the reported runtime and mechanical-wear concerns.
- For SWIFTClean: identify the generation and check whether its extraction and surface-use capabilities match your cleaning needs.
- For the sprayer: check the exact manual for compatible chemicals and required care, then assess whether its pressure and spray pattern suit your task.
Across all four, use the retailer scores as prompts to investigate rather than as failure-rate estimates: SlashGear’s report does not disclose the underlying review counts or score-capture dates.
