Four Ryobi 18V ONE+ combo kits sold for less than the listed price of their components in a SlashGear article by Shane O’Neill, published September 29, 2026. The size of each saving depends on which accessories and discontinued tools a comparison counts, so the figures below should be read as publication-time values for those specific comparisons, not as current offers.

The HP kit and the 10-tool kit cannot be matched item for item against their component totals. The HP total is missing a tool the buyer cannot purchase separately, and the 10-tool total is partial by design. Treat those two gaps as indications rather than measured savings.

18V ONE+ 2-tool combo kit
This kit contains a drill-driver (PCL206), a circular saw (PCL500), two 1.5 Ah batteries (PBP002), a charger (PCG002) and a work bag, for a reported $179. The article’s drill, saw and battery total is $242.94, which rises to $277.91 once the charger is added. The bag has no price in either total, so the comparison says nothing about what it would cost separately. The kit suits a buyer who wants a drill and a circular saw on the same battery platform and does not need impact-driving or lighting tools.

18V ONE+ HP brushless 2-tool combo kit
The HP kit contains a brushless drill-driver (PBLDD01), a brushless impact driver (PBLID01), two 2 Ah high-performance batteries, a charger and a work bag, for a reported $199. SlashGear says the drill-driver was discontinued for individual sale at publication, so the $311.97 figure covers only the items still sold separately. The $112.97 gap should not be presented as the saving on this kit. The article does not claim the HP tools perform the same as standard ONE+ tools, and a buyer who needs brushless motors should judge the kit on that basis rather than on the price gap.
18V ONE+ 4-tool combo kit
The 4-tool kit includes a drill-driver (PCL206), an impact driver (PCL235), a circular saw (PCL500), an LED work light (PCL660), a 1.5 Ah battery (PBP002) and a 4.0 Ah battery (PBP005), plus a charger and work bag, for a reported $249. The article totals the listed tools and batteries at $385.94 and excludes the charger and bag from that figure. The $136.94 gap is the widest of the four comparisons that does not depend on a discontinued or partial total. Because the kit adds a work light and a second battery size, it is the one most buyers will compare against building a set from individual tools.

18V ONE+ 10-tool combo kit
The article reports this kit at $679 and lists a drill-driver, reciprocating saw, circular saw, jigsaw, LED light, nailer, random-orbit sander, angle grinder, multitool and other components. The partial standalone total of $792.88 leaves out accessories and discontinued tools. The $113.88 difference is therefore not a full measure of what the kit saves. It shows the kit is priced below the listed parts that the article could price, and it is most useful for a buyer who needs most of the tools on the list.

The article’s prices are from late September 2026. Confirm the following before treating any kit as a deal.

- Confirm the model number. RYOBI’s Power Tool Combo Kits catalog, accessed October 7, 2026, lists the PCL1400K2 18V ONE+ 4-tool kit and displays both $199 and $249 for it. Check the live product page to see which figure is the current selling price, since a catalog display is not a price guarantee.
- Compare the contents with the article’s list. The Home Depot listing for the PCL1400K2 product page, accessed October 7, 2026, describes an 18V cordless 4-tool combo kit with compact and 4.0 Ah batteries and a charger. That description does not name a 1.5 Ah battery, so confirm the battery model numbers before assuming the retail kit matches the article’s list. The listing confirms the product and model, not current price or stock.
- Check the retailer. SlashGear says RYOBI sells these kits through its own website and Home Depot, and that other big-box retailers carry them. The catalog and product listing confirm the product, but neither establishes the full retailer list.
- Rebuild the comparison with current prices. Price each included item at the same retailer on the same day, and decide whether the charger and bag belong in your total. If a component is discontinued, drop it from the comparison rather than assuming a price.
How to decide whether a bundle is worth it
- Tool mix. Start with the projects you actually do. A drill and saw kit is a poor deal for someone who needs a nailer or impact driver, however low the price gap.
- Motor tier. The HP kit uses brushless tools, while the 2-tool and 4-tool kits are standard ONE+ tools. Do not assume the two tiers perform alike.
- Battery count and capacity. The 2-tool kit ships two 1.5 Ah batteries and the HP kit two 2 Ah batteries. The 4-tool kit adds a 4.0 Ah battery to a 1.5 Ah one. Compare total batteries and amp-hour ratings, not only the number of tools. Check the battery list for the 10-tool kit on its live listing.
- Included accessories. Charger and bag are included in every kit, but they are excluded from some totals. Add them yourself if you are comparing against a bare-tool purchase.
- Like-for-like pricing. A large gap on a kit with a discontinued or partial comparison is weaker evidence than a smaller gap on a complete one. For most buyers, the 4-tool kit has the cleanest comparison, and the 2-tool kit has the simplest tool list.
If you want a drill and circular saw, the 2-tool kit is the narrowest option. If you want a broader set with a second battery size, the 4-tool kit has the strongest case, provided the live listing matches the article’s contents.
