The iPhone 18 Pro offer in this early Prime Day roundup is a T-Mobile bill-credit promotion—not an Amazon price cut or an unconditional free phone. T-Mobile spreads qualifying credits over up to 36 months, and eligibility, fees, and trade-in requirements apply. The other options are an iPhone 17 Pro through T-Mobile, an unlocked iPhone 16e, and a refurbished iPhone 14; the reported retail prices are dated snapshots, not verified live offers.
What are the four early Prime Day iPhone deals?
A September 29, 2026 Mashable article hosted by Yahoo Tech described four ways to buy an iPhone. Its reported prices and availability reflect that article’s publication date and should not be treated as current listings.
| iPhone | Purchase path | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone 18 Pro, 256GB | T-Mobile bill credits | Advertised as free for eligible customers through credits over up to 36 months; requirements, taxes, and a connection charge apply. This was not an Amazon price cut. T-Mobile offer details. |
| iPhone 17 Pro, 256GB | T-Mobile bill credits | The article reported the same general carrier-credit promotion as another option. Check the live offer for eligible plans and net cost; the article did not establish a current price. T-Mobile offer details. |
| iPhone 16e, 128GB | Unlocked purchase at Best Buy | The article reported $539.99, or $60 off, on September 29, 2026. Current price and stock are not established. |
| iPhone 14, 128GB | Refurbished at Best Buy | The article identified a refurbished option, but copies disagree on its price. Verify the live listing, condition, seller, battery information, and return terms before buying. |
The reported offers appeared in a Prime Day roundup, but the featured iPhone 18 Pro promotion was from T-Mobile. The article said Amazon had not offered that new, unlocked phone deal at publication time.

T-Mobile’s “Get iPhone 18 Pro On Us” offer uses monthly bill credits against a financed device. The credits can run for up to 36 months, so the phone is not simply handed over at no cost upfront. You generally need to meet the specific promotion’s service-plan, credit, new-line or switching, and trade-in conditions. The exact requirements vary by offer and customer; check T-Mobile’s current promotional terms before ordering.
#1 Best Overall
- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- When you receive the phone, insert a SIM card from a compatible carrier. Then, turn it on, connect to Wi-Fi, and follow the on screen prompts to activate service.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charger and charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
T-Mobile’s published terms also say customers owe tax on the phone’s pre-credit price and a $35 device connection charge. If you cancel the entire account before receiving all credits, future credits can stop and the remaining device-financing balance may become due. Paying off the device early can also end future credits. Review T-Mobile’s current offers for the promotion and its full conditions.
The source article described a $1,200 retail value for the iPhone 18 Pro, but that is not a live price quote. Do not assume a particular trade-in will cover the full device cost: credit amounts depend on the current offer, eligible device, plan, and other conditions.

How should you compare the carrier offer with an unlocked phone?
Compare the total cost and restrictions, not only the phone’s advertised price or monthly credit. A carrier promotion can be worthwhile if you already want the qualifying service and can keep the account and financing in place through the credit period. An unlocked cash purchase may cost more upfront but avoids relying on a multi-year carrier-credit schedule.

- Calculate the full term: Add required service-plan charges, device financing, taxes on the pre-credit price, and the $35 connection charge; subtract only credits you are eligible to receive. Include the value of any trade-in separately.
- Confirm eligibility: Check your exact plan, credit qualification, whether the offer requires a new line or port-in, and the specific eligible trade-in model and condition.
- Consider flexibility: If you may cancel service or pay off the device early, account for the possibility of losing future bill credits.
- Check the item itself: For an unlocked new phone, confirm network compatibility and seller terms. For a refurbished phone, inspect condition grade, battery details, return window, and seller identity.
- Verify current availability: The $539.99 iPhone 16e report and the other roundup details are dated. Check the retailer and carrier listings at checkout.
Which of the four options is the best fit?
Choose the iPhone 18 Pro if the T-Mobile terms work for you
This is the headline option for someone who wants the newest model and meets the exact carrier-promotion requirements. Treat “free” as a conditional result of credits over time, and account for service costs, taxes, the connection charge, financing, and the risk of losing remaining credits.
Rank #3
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Consider the iPhone 17 Pro if you want a previous-generation Pro
The roundup also named the iPhone 17 Pro 256GB under a T-Mobile credit offer. Its appeal depends on the current promotion and what you would actually pay over the full term; the article does not establish a current net price.
Look at the iPhone 16e for an unlocked cash discount
The reported Best Buy listing was for a new, unlocked 128GB iPhone 16e at $539.99, $60 off, on September 29, 2026. Because that figure is a dated snapshot, confirm the live price and stock before relying on it.
Buy the refurbished iPhone 14 only after checking the listing
A refurbished 128GB iPhone 14 may suit a tighter budget, but no dependable price is established here: copies of the article disagree. Compare the actual condition and seller terms, and do not infer battery health or return rights from the word “refurbished.”
