Canva’s “30 new features” is best understood as a roundup of launches and upgrades announced across Canva Create 2024 and Canva Create 2025—not 30 identical products released in one software version. The list spans editing, collaboration, enterprise administration, AI, data, video, websites and interactive content. Availability, plan requirements, language support and names can change, so check the feature in your account before committing to a workflow.
The biggest strategic change is Canva’s move from a template-led design editor toward a broader visual-work platform. Canva’s Visual Suite 2.0 announcement describes connected work across presentations, videos, whiteboards, websites, documents, slides, spreadsheets and social content.
Canva’s feature timeline
- Canva Create 2024: editor, collaboration, enterprise, brand, AI, photo, video, accessibility and security improvements.
- Canva Create 2025: Visual Suite 2.0, Canva Sheets, Magic Insights, Magic Formulas, Magic Charts, Canva AI, Canva Code, expanded bulk workflows and a new AI-assisted Photo Editor.
The frequently cited roundup was published by Analytics Vidhya in 2024 and contains an inconsistent reference to 2025. Treat it as a secondary discovery list, not as an authoritative release calendar: original roundup.

The 30 features, explained
1. Redesigned editor
Canva refreshed the editing experience to make controls, templates and content easier to find. It is most useful for frequent creators who move between layouts and asset types. Interface details can vary by account and device; spend a few minutes locating layers, comments and export controls before training a team.
#1 Best Overall
2. Customizable workspace and starred items
Workspace customization and starred content help users keep preferred tools, projects and assets close at hand. This is a productivity improvement rather than a separate creation engine. Test it by starring a recurring brand folder and the templates used most often.
3. Project dashboard
The project dashboard organizes designs and shared work in one place, reducing time spent searching. It benefits teams with many campaign files, but folder conventions and permissions still matter; a dashboard cannot replace a clear naming system.
4. Improved comments and notifications
Updated commenting and notification workflows support feedback, assignments and approvals inside a design. They are valuable for marketing and education teams, although notification volume can become distracting. Establish who resolves comments and when a file is considered approved.
5. Canva Docs improvements
Canva Docs connects written material with visual content, making it practical to turn a brief into a presentation or campaign asset. It is a good fit for visually led documents, while Microsoft Word or Google Docs remain stronger for complex long-form editing and office compatibility.
6. Visual Suite 2.0 unified workspace
Visual Suite 2.0 is Canva’s 2025 attempt to keep related presentations, videos, websites, whiteboards, documents, slides, spreadsheets and social posts in one connected format. Moving between formats can still change hierarchy, spacing or controls, so inspect every converted output before publishing. Canva’s announcement describes the supported formats.
7. Canva mobile-app improvements
Mobile updates make it easier to review, edit and publish while away from a desktop. They suit quick social updates and approvals, but detailed layout work, bulk mapping and accessibility checks are generally easier on a larger screen. Confirm that fonts, animations and exports match the desktop version.
Rank #2
8. Canva Enterprise
Canva Enterprise adds organization-level administration, support, security controls and deployment options for larger companies. It is relevant when identity management, governance and centralized brand operations matter; it is usually excessive for a solo creator. Request current terms and security documentation before a procurement decision.
9. Canva Courses
Canva Courses supports lessons and learning materials assembled from Canva content. Educators can combine explanations, visuals and activities in one workflow. It should not be assumed to replace a full learning-management system with grading, enrollment and compliance features.
10. Canva Work Kits
Work Kits package related templates, assets and guidance for a particular job or campaign. They can shorten onboarding and improve consistency, provided an owner keeps the kit current and removes obsolete material.
11. Canva Shield
Canva Shield refers to security and protection capabilities promoted for business use. Treat security branding as a set of controls to evaluate—not proof of automatic regulatory compliance. Ask about data handling, retention, administrator visibility and incident processes for sensitive work.
12. Accessibility improvements
Accessibility updates can make designs easier to navigate or understand, but an accessibility feature is not the same as full WCAG conformance. Check contrast, heading order, captions, alternative text, keyboard behavior and reading order in the exported or published result.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors13. Expanded language support
Broader language support helps international teams create and translate material. Translation quality, font coverage and right-to-left layout can differ by language. Have a fluent reviewer check names, prices, dates, legal text and cultural references before release.
Rank #3
14. Canva Websites
Canva Websites publish simple pages and campaign destinations directly from designs. They work well for portfolios, events and lightweight landing pages. A dedicated builder such as Webflow, Wix or WordPress is generally better for complex navigation, a CMS, authenticated features or long-term content operations.
15. Brand Hub improvements
Brand Hub centralizes logos, colors, fonts, templates and other brand controls. It helps teams keep variants aligned, but permissions and approval ownership determine whether the system works in practice. Audit who can change brand assets and test a real campaign from brief to export.
16. Ad-tech integrations
Advertising integrations connect Canva-created assets with campaign workflows. Their value depends on the platforms, permissions and export formats available to your organization. Verify the connector’s supported accounts and whether tracking, review and version history survive publication.

17. Apps Marketplace integrations
Marketplace apps extend Canva with services such as stock content, productivity tools or publishing connections. Review each app’s permissions, data access, billing and support separately; installing an app does not make it part of Canva’s core feature set.
18. Custom apps through Canva’s developer ecosystem
The Canva developer platform lets technical teams build integrations and extensions. It can connect Canva to internal systems, but requires maintenance, testing and an owner for API changes. Treat a custom app as software infrastructure, not a one-time configuration.
19. Magic Design
Magic Design turns a prompt or supplied media into draft layouts and content directions. It is useful for starting social posts, presentations and campaign concepts quickly. Review copy, imagery, hierarchy and brand fit; generated drafts are starting points, not approved communications.
Rank #4
20. Text to Graphic
Text to Graphic generates visual assets from written descriptions. It helps produce concept art or decorative graphics when speed matters, but results may contain inaccurate text, odd composition or unsuitable licensing implications. Keep important logos, product labels and claims under human control.
21. Styles and Layouts
Styles and Layouts offer alternate visual treatments for an existing idea. They are useful when a team needs options without rebuilding a design. Compare each variation against brand rules and accessibility requirements rather than choosing solely on visual novelty.
22. Magic Write tone-of-voice controls
Magic Write can adjust wording for a selected tone, helping turn a rough brief into audience-specific copy. Generated language still needs factual, legal and editorial review, especially for prices, statistics, health claims and customer promises.
23. Magic Switch and Resize
Magic Switch and Resize adapt a design to another format or dimension. They are valuable for turning one campaign into presentation, document, website and social variants. Conversion can disturb spacing and reading order, so inspect headlines, calls to action and mobile layouts manually.
24. Bulk Create
Bulk Create generates many design variants from a data table—for example, personalized certificates, names, prices or localized ads. Start with five to ten records, map columns carefully and spot-check before a full run. A single bad value can be reproduced across hundreds of exports.

25. Data Autofill
Data Autofill populates design fields from structured information, reducing repetitive entry in catalogs, reports and campaigns. Validate column headers, blank values and number formats first, and use access controls when the source contains personal or confidential data.
26. Canva AI
Canva AI accepts text, voice or media prompts and lets users refine results inside the Visual Suite, apply brand controls or convert work into templates. It accelerates ideation and production, but does not replace creative direction, fact-checking, accessibility review or legal assessment. Availability and usage limits depend on account and plan.
27. Canva Code
Canva Code lets users describe interactive creations such as learning games, calculators or personalized planners without conventional coding, then share or embed them in Canva designs. It is suitable for lightweight prototypes and interactive content—not automatically for authenticated applications, complex databases or production software. Test keyboard access, mobile behavior, browser compatibility and data handling.
28. Canva Sheets, Magic Insights and Magic Formulas
Canva Sheets combines spreadsheet-style data with visual communication. Magic Insights summarizes patterns and Magic Formulas helps create formulas, according to Canva’s 2025 announcement: official details. Confirm supported functions, import/export behavior, formula review and plan access before moving a critical workbook. Use non-sensitive sample data for an initial trial.
29. Magic Charts
Magic Charts can recommend visualizations and connect data from services such as Google Analytics, HubSpot and Snowflake, with updates described by Canva as connected or live. Connector behavior and refresh timing must be checked individually. Label units, dates and sources, and verify the chart after a source-schema change so attractive graphics do not communicate misleading statistics.
30. Photo and video AI tools
Canva’s newer Photo Editor includes background generation and point-and-click controls to move, replace, remove, recolor or resize image elements. The earlier roundup also identifies Magic Eraser, background removal, mockups, Highlights, Enhance Voice, video background removal and Recordings. Hair, transparent objects, shadows, fine edges, logos and product text can fail during AI editing; inspect every commercial asset. For video, Canva is particularly practical for short social clips, narrated presentations and simple explainers, while advanced color grading, multicamera editing, audio mixing and long-form motion work may require specialist software.

How to evaluate Free, Pro, Teams and Enterprise
Do not choose a plan from feature names alone. Check the current official pages—pricing, Pro, Teams and Enterprise—for your country and date. Compare AI limits, premium assets, storage, Brand Hub controls, collaboration, approvals, administration, security, licensing and seat rules. Record whether billing is monthly or annual and whether an offer is promotional.
- Free: start here for occasional creation and to confirm that Canva fits your workflow.
- Pro: consider it when premium assets, advanced editing, storage or higher AI usage justify an individual upgrade.
- Teams: compare shared brand controls, permissions and approvals with the cost of separate individual accounts.
- Enterprise: evaluate identity, governance, support, security review and deployment administration—not just editing features.
Where Canva is not the best tool
Adobe Creative Cloud remains stronger for specialist photo, illustration, page-layout and professional video work. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace are better for conventional office documents and complex spreadsheets. Figma is purpose-built for interface and product design. Webflow, Wix and WordPress offer deeper website and CMS capabilities. Specialist AI image or video tools may provide more advanced generation controls. Canva can complement these products without replacing them.

Canva’s most consequential change is the consolidation of design, documents, data, collaboration, AI and lightweight publishing into one visual workflow. Start with low-risk drafting and format conversion, pilot bulk and data features on small samples, and keep human review for accuracy, accessibility, privacy, brand control and legal risk.
