Street Fighter brings the World Warrior Tournament to theaters
Paramount lists Street Fighter for October 16, 2026. Its official synopsis places the story in 1993: Ryu and Ken are drawn back into the next World Warrior Tournament after Chun-Li recruits them. The listing names Kitao Sakurai as director and identifies the characters Ryu, Ken Masters, and Chun-Li. Paramount’s film listing is the primary source for the date, synopsis, and director.

Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is scheduled for March 2027
Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is currently set for March 19, 2027. Both Paramount’s film listing and SEGA’s January 22, 2025 announcement give that theatrical date.
VICE reports that Amy takes a main-character role and that Metal Sonic is a new adversary. Paramount’s listing supplies the date but not a synopsis, so those story details should be understood as VICE’s reporting rather than an official plot description on the studio page. This is the next chapter in the film series based on SEGA’s game franchise.

The Legend of Zelda is Nintendo’s live-action adaptation
Nintendo announced a planned worldwide theatrical release for The Legend of Zelda on April 30, 2027. Its September 8, 2026 corporate announcement identifies the movie as live-action, names Wes Ball as director, and confirms Bo Bragason as Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link. Nintendo and Arad Productions are producing the film. Nintendo and Sony are co-financing it, with Nintendo providing more than 50% of the financing; Sony Pictures Entertainment will distribute it worldwide in theaters.
Nintendo’s announcement establishes the format and production details but does not provide a plot synopsis. VICE describes the story as original while drawing on familiar series elements, with Link and Zelda protecting Hyrule from Ganon and his plan involving the Triforce. That description comes from VICE, not Nintendo’s announcement.
