For laptop charging on a drive, choose by the output of the specific port you will use—not the charger’s combined wattage. The Anker Nano Car Charger (167.5W), Baseus PrimeTrip VR2 Max 240W, and UGREEN Nexode 145W each have a USB-C output rated at least 100W, but their port layouts and simultaneous-output limits differ. These are personal-use recommendations, not an independently tested reliability ranking.

How to choose a 100W car charger for a laptop

Check three things before buying: whether your laptop accepts USB-C charging, the maximum wattage of the charger’s laptop-facing port, and whether the cable supports that output. A charger marked “145W” or “240W” may divide its total among ports; that number does not mean one laptop receives the full amount while other devices are connected.

  • Confirm laptop compatibility: USB-C charging support and the laptop’s required input vary by model. A 100W port does not guarantee every laptop will draw 100W.
  • Match the port and cable: Use a USB-C port rated for the output you need and a cable rated for that power. A built-in cable may have a lower limit than a separate USB-C port.
  • Check simultaneous charging: If you plan to charge a phone or other device at the same time, check how the charger allocates power across occupied ports.
  • Verify the vehicle input and current availability: Product specifications, stock, and prices can vary by region and change over time.

Three car chargers with a 100W-or-higher USB-C port

Model Laptop-facing output Other outputs and design Key caveat
Anker Nano Car Charger (167.5W, 3 Ports) USB-C1: up to 100W USB-C2: up to 45W; USB-A: up to 22.5W Use USB-C1 for the 100W output; confirm the laptop’s requirements.
Baseus PrimeTrip VR2 Max 240W Its series page lists a built-in USB-C cable rated up to 105W; the product page lists two built-in USB-C cables. Product page lists three USB-C connections and one USB-A port; the model is advertised at 240W total. Power is shared across connections, so 240W is not a single-device guarantee. The official listing showed sold out on October 7, 2026.
UGREEN Nexode Car Charger 145W with Retractable USB-C Cable USB-C2: up to 100W Retractable cable: up to 60W; USB-C1 and USB-A: up to 30W each; 145W total For up to 100W, connect the laptop to USB-C2, not the retractable cable.

Anker Nano: clearest port-by-port choice

Anker specifies the Nano’s first USB-C port at up to 100W, with a second USB-C port rated up to 45W and USB-A up to 22.5W. That makes it straightforward to identify which port to use for a laptop while keeping two other ports available. The combined rating is 167.5W; check the device label and laptop requirements rather than assuming every connected device receives its maximum output simultaneously. See Anker’s official specifications for the Nano 167.5W car charger.

Baseus PrimeTrip VR2 Max: highest combined rating, with shared output

The PrimeTrip VR2 Max is the highest-rated option here by advertised combined wattage: 240W. Baseus’s series information lists a built-in USB-C cable rated up to 105W, and the product page describes two built-in USB-C cables plus USB-C and USB-A ports. Treat 240W as the total across the charger, not the guaranteed output to one laptop with other ports in use. Baseus’s official product listing showed the charger sold out on October 7, 2026, so check current stock before planning a purchase. UGREEN Nexode 145W: retractable cable plus a separate 100W port

UGREEN rates the Nexode’s USB-C2 port at up to 100W, but its integrated retractable USB-C cable is rated up to 60W. Connect a laptop to USB-C2 if it needs more than the cable’s 60W limit. USB-C1 and USB-A are each rated up to 30W, and the charger is listed at 145W total. UGREEN specifies a 12–24V vehicle input for this US product page; check the page for the version sold in your region. See UGREEN’s official Nexode 145W specifications.

What “reliable” means for these picks

The three models were recommended based on the author’s reported personal use, not on a published comparative reliability test. Manufacturer pages describe product features, but the available information does not establish which charger lasts longest or has the lowest failure rate. Treat “reliable” as a practical shortlist, not a measured ranking. Anker’s EU page, Baseus’s pages, and UGREEN’s US page provide specifications; none supplies a comparable independent lifespan or failure-rate result.

When you may need a separate USB-C cable

If the charger’s built-in cable is below the output you want, use a separate cable rated for the required power. UGREEN says a separate 130W car-charger bundle sold on its Canada site includes an e-marked cable supporting 100W. That is a different product and regional bundle; it does not mean the 145W Nexode includes a 100W cable. Check the cable’s rating and the exact bundle listing before relying on it. See UGREEN Canada’s separate 130W charger bundle details.
