There is no verified, uniformly Vue 3-compatible shortlist of 27 actively maintained admin templates. Vue’s ecosystem directory is a useful place to discover products, but a directory listing alone does not establish a template’s Vue version, current maintenance, included code, or license. Start with a few source-backed options—such as free PrimeVue Sakai, paid PrimeVue Freya, and Vuetify-based Materio—and verify each candidate before committing.
What the “27 templates” list can—and cannot—tell you
The official Vue ecosystem themes directory names products from vendors including PrimeVue, Flatlogic, WrapPixel, CodedThemes, ThemeSelection, and AdminMart. It is a discovery map, not an audited catalog of 27 current Vue 3 templates. Names in the directory, including Sakai, Apollo, Atlantis, Sing App Vue, Spike, Berry, Materio, and Modernize variants, should be treated as candidates to investigate rather than confirmed recommendations.
That distinction matters because product pages and demos change, and a template may target a different Vue major version or toolchain than your application. The directory itself does not prove that a listing is actively maintained or that a particular license covers your intended use.
Three source-backed options to start with
Sakai: a free PrimeVue template
PrimeVue describes Sakai as a free Vue application template. Its live demo includes examples for dashboards, UI components, CRUD, authentication, and related pages. It is a practical free option to inspect when you want a PrimeVue-based starter.

Do not mistake the status of the older sakai-vue-cli GitHub repository for the status of the current template: that repository is archived. The archived repository is not evidence that the current Sakai demo is archived.
Materio: Vue 3 and Vuetify 3
The Vuetify Store describes Materio as a Vue 3 and Vuetify 3 template using Vite. Its displayed prices are $69 for personal, $139 for commercial, and $499 for unlimited use. These are listed prices observed on the store page, not guaranteed future prices.
ThemeSelection’s Materio demo and documentation describe Vite, Vue Router, Pinia, authentication and access-control support, layout variations, and example applications. That page displays different prices: $69 personal, $149 commercial, and $699 unlimited, and describes 12 months of updates and support details. Because the store and vendor demo conflict on some tiers, check the current checkout and license terms rather than treating either set of prices as universal.

PrimeVue’s template page lists Freya as a Vite-based JavaScript admin template. It displays a Basic License at $59 and an Extended License at $590. PrimeVue characterizes the Basic License as non-commercial and for a single end product, while the Extended License is commercial and covers multiple end products. Confirm the restrictions and current terms on the product page before purchase.

How to evaluate a Vue admin template
Match the framework and toolchain
Confirm the Vue major version and component library, then check whether the starter uses Vite, Nuxt, or another build setup. PrimeVue, Vuetify, and Bootstrap-based templates are not interchangeable: your team’s existing UI library and conventions affect how much work it takes to integrate or restyle the starter.
Check the workflows you actually need
Look for working examples of the screens your product requires, rather than relying on a feature count. Inspect whether the demo and included project cover items such as:

- A handy two-book set that uniquely combines related technologies Highly visual format and accessible language makes these books highly effective learning tools Perfect for beginning web designers and front-end developers
- Dashboards and charts
- Tables, forms, and CRUD workflows
- Authentication, roles, and permissions
- Responsive layouts and alternate themes
- Domain-specific example applications
A visual demo can show the intended interface, but it does not by itself establish that every screen is included as usable source code. Check the package contents and documentation.

Assess customization, accessibility, and documentation
Inspect theme and layout options, responsive behavior, and the quality of the setup and customization guidance. If accessibility is important to your application, look for explicit documentation and test the interactions you depend on; a polished demo alone does not establish accessibility conformance.

Verify maintenance signals
Before adopting a template, check for a functioning current demo and recent release notes or repository activity where available. A vendor directory entry is not proof of ongoing maintenance. Also distinguish an abandoned older repository from a separate current product or demo, as the Sakai example illustrates.
Read the license for your deployment
Check whether the license permits commercial use, how many end products it covers, and what it says about updates and support. Prices and terms can differ between a vendor’s store and demo pages, as they do for Materio, and can change over time. Confirm the license that will actually apply at checkout.

- Filter by stack: retain only templates whose current product page confirms your required Vue version, UI library, and build tool.
- Open the demo: inspect the pages and interactions that correspond to your application’s workflows.
- Confirm deliverables: check what source code, documentation, and example applications are included.
- Check maintenance: look for a working demo and current release or repository signals; do not infer maintenance from a directory listing.
- Verify license and price: read the applicable terms and checkout details for your commercial use and number of end products.
This process is more reliable than selecting a template because it appears on a list of 27. The available directory supports discovery, but the reviewed sources do not establish 27 candidates as an equally current, Vue 3-verified set.
