These 21 Wix portfolio examples show different ways artists, photographers, designers, studios, and service businesses can present work online. They are inspiration, not a verified best-to-worst ranking: the names and design details below are reported by Colorlib’s September 25, 2026 roundup, and its entries have not all been independently checked against live sites. Wix’s official inspiration gallery separately features Cami Ferreol and Hedof, providing an official cross-check for those two names.

Rather than copying a layout wholesale, compare how each portfolio handles its first screen, gallery, project detail, navigation, and next step. Those choices determine whether a visitor can quickly understand the creator and explore or contact them.

How to use these Wix portfolio examples

Colorlib’s list spans individual artists, photographers, illustrators, creative studios, and client-facing businesses. Its descriptions report features such as masonry grids, lightboxes, project pages, motion, newsletter signup, shops, and contact details. Treat those as reported design notes rather than current, independently verified site features: the pages were not individually opened and checked.

21 Wix portfolio examples, grouped by what they demonstrate

The following names and the design details associated with them come from Colorlib’s roundup. The groupings below are a way to compare the reported approaches, not claims that one site is better than another.

Art, illustration, and image-led portfolios

Photography portfolios

  • Helena Hauss: The roundup reports a masonry grid, one option for handling work in different image proportions.
  • Weddings By Shannon: Colorlib reports contact or service details, directly relevant to a portfolio intended to generate client inquiries.
  • Alexandra Zsigmond: Wix’s portfolio product page features this creator as an example; the supplied material does not describe a specific design feature.

What to look for when comparing portfolio website examples

A visually striking home page is only one part of an effective portfolio. Use these questions to judge whether a site’s structure suits its creator and audience.

  • Profession and purpose: Is the site showcasing art, photography, illustration, a design studio, an agency, or a service? The portfolio should make the intended audience and work type apparent.
  • First screen: Can a visitor tell who the creator is, what they do, and where to find the work?
  • Gallery format: Does the site use a grid, masonry layout, slider, or full-screen image or video? The format should help visitors assess the work, not compete with it.
  • Project depth: Can visitors open a piece to see context, process, or a fuller case study, or are they limited to thumbnails?
  • Interaction: Do animation, hover states, lightboxes, parallax, or motion help visitors browse? Effects that make the work harder to see or navigate are a poor trade-off.
  • Navigation and next step: Are project categories, contact details, services, a shop, or a newsletter signup easy to find—and appropriate to the creator’s goal?

Wix’s portfolio layout guidance recommends a focused selection of work and context about the process. Its advice on how much work to include is editorial guidance, not a universal quota: the right amount depends on the range and depth a visitor needs to evaluate.

How to make a portfolio website with Wix

Wix’s Help Center describes a setup sequence that starts with a template or a blank site and ends with promotion. Adapt the steps to your work and the action you want visitors to take.

  1. Choose a starting point: Select a portfolio template or start from scratch.
  2. Personalize the site: Set up the structure and presentation to fit your work and audience.
  3. Upload media: Add high-quality images or other media and organize them into projects.
  4. Add context and contact: Include an About page and a contact form so visitors can understand who you are and get in touch.
  5. Promote the portfolio: Share the finished site with the audiences and channels relevant to your work.

That sequence comes from Wix’s portfolio setup guidance. For decisions about layout and project presentation, consult Wix’s portfolio layout article.

What Wix’s portfolio examples can—and cannot—tell you

Wix’s product page says that more than 80,000 portfolio websites are published monthly. That is a Wix-published figure, accessed in 2026; the page does not state its publication date or measurement method, so it should not be treated as an independently audited statistic. Wix also says its portfolio builder can be used for free. Its FAQ describes upgrades that can add a custom domain, remove Wix ads, and enable payments, but current plan details and prices depend on the reader’s market and may change. Check Wix’s portfolio page for current product information.

Wix’s Head of Organic Growth Marketing, Rebecca Tomasis, frames the purpose of a portfolio this way: “An outstanding portfolio is all about storytelling. It’s not just a showcase of work but a narrative that weaves together a professional’s skills, creativity and personality.” This is Wix’s own product-side perspective, but it aligns with a practical test: a portfolio should show not only the finished work, but also enough about its creator and process to help the right visitor understand it. Read Wix’s portfolio builder page.
