What was the Whiteface downhill course like?
The UCI described the descent as a two-kilometer, machine-built course combining technical wooded sections with faster, open terrain. Wet conditions earlier in the week gave way to a drier and faster track by race time. These are details from the UCI’s event report, rather than an independent course inspection.
Meier-Smith called it his “best track,” explaining that its fast sections suited his strength in carrying speed. The UCI also reported that Vermette reached 72 km/h through the speed trap during the final. Myriam Nicole lined up for the 100th Downhill World Cup race of her career.
