These 20 Squarespace church websites offer practical inspiration for church leaders, communications volunteers, and designers. They are curated examples—not a ranked, independently tested top 20—and the collections do not use a shared scoring method. Use them to study how churches present visitor information, ministries, sermons, and next steps, then verify each site and its Squarespace attribution before relying on it: websites and platforms can change.

20 Squarespace church websites to explore

What to look for when evaluating a church website

Visual style can make a site memorable, but the more useful question is whether people can find what they need. Apply the same visitor-centered lens to each example rather than treating aesthetic preference as a performance measure.

First-visit clarity

  • Can someone find service times and locations without searching through several pages?
  • Is practical visitor information—such as parking and children’s arrangements—easy to locate?
  • Is there a clear way to plan a visit or ask a question?

Navigation and language

  • Are the main pages easy to scan and organized around what visitors and members need?
  • Does the site explain church-specific terms instead of assuming newcomers know them?

Useful content and next steps

  • Where relevant, are events, ministries, sermons, contact information, and ways to get involved straightforward to find?
  • Do calls to action say what happens next, rather than relying on vague labels?

Visual identity and upkeep

  • Do the photography, colors, typography, and layout reflect the congregation while keeping important actions visible?
  • Is someone clearly responsible for updates, and can more than one person manage the site?

What Squarespace says churches can build

Squarespace’s official church templates page describes customizable templates and content blocks for event calendars, sermon archives, donations and tithing, ministry highlights, and volunteer sign-up forms. It also says the platform can integrate with email marketing, social media, live-streaming, and video-hosting services. These are platform capabilities described by Squarespace; they should not be read as confirmation that every example site uses each feature. See Squarespace’s church website templates and features.

Plan a site your church can keep current

A church website planning checklist offers practical guidance for keeping a site focused and manageable. It recommends starting with essential pages, adding more only when needed, keeping each piece of information in one place, and using specific calls to action. It suggests 4–7 top-level menu items, but that is a recommendation from the checklist, not a universal rule.

Rank #2

  • Keep each fact in one designated place so updates do not have to be repeated across the site.
  • Use plain language. The checklist’s wording is: “Substitute plain language for ‘church speak.’”
  • Make site access and training resilient. The checklist advises: “At least two people, plus parish office, should have access and training to manage site at all times.”

These suggestions are useful starting points, not guarantees of better attendance, giving, or engagement. The example collections and Squarespace’s platform page do not establish those outcomes or provide a shared method for measuring website quality.
