These 17 examples show how a membership offer can deliver value through coaching, classes, downloadable resources, professional networks, events, or community. They are drawn from a roundup updated September 21, 2026; its publisher says the sites include both Squarespace’s membership features and third-party tools, so they should not all be treated as confirmed native Squarespace Member Sites. The roundup marks Raveyrai as paused, so it is not included here. See the roundup and its descriptions.

What these membership models offer

The examples make clear that “membership” describes an access arrangement, not a single kind of product. The underlying benefit may be information, instruction, professional support, community, or an organized activity. A useful comparison starts with what members receive and how they receive it.

Membership approach Examples What members are described as receiving
Coaching and accountability Soulcial Mate; Jamar Diggs / The Low-Lift Club Creator or marketing support, strategy, implementation tools, or accountability.
Classes and guided practice Amanda Rose Dance; Practice Yoga with Erika; Ginkgo Embodiment Dance or yoga instruction, livestreams, movement, or guided wellness practices.
Professional development and resources Business Chicks; Ascend Leadership; Ladies of Real Estate / LRE Social; EEV; Mashup Math Networking, mentoring, career programs, marketing resources, educator support, or classroom materials.
Community and events Wanderful / She’s Wanderful; LNJAK; Bronxville PTA; Psychedelic Society (UK) Travel connections and meetups, cultural community, family engagement, or talks and events.
Specialized learning and peer practice Beth Lendrum Guided sessions and learning groups for practitioners.
Live productivity Caveday Guided virtual coworking and deep-work accountability.

For your own site, make the benefit concrete before choosing a visual style: state who the membership is for, what access includes, and whether the experience is self-paced, live, downloadable, event-based, or community-led. Where the offer has several elements, distinguish what is included from what is occasional or separately available. The examples’ publisher descriptions do not establish current prices or tier details.

Can you create a membership site on Squarespace?

Yes. Squarespace documents Member Sites as pages protected by a paywall, with free or paid access. Its documented pricing options include recurring subscriptions, fixed-amount pricing, and free access. The broader documentation also describes free access after email sign-up, flat-rate pricing, installment payments, and recurring subscriptions for gated content. Members use customer accounts to access content and manage subscriptions. See Squarespace’s Member Sites documentation and its guide to selling content and memberships.

Those capabilities do not establish that every example above uses Squarespace’s native Member Sites feature. The roundup explicitly includes sites that use Squarespace for the main website while relying on a third-party membership tool. Confirm the access system on an individual site before treating its design as proof of a particular Squarespace setup.

What can go behind a Squarespace membership paywall?

Squarespace’s documentation describes gated courses, videos, blog posts, and member-site pages. Those formats can support lessons, a resource library, or other member-only material. A paywall can control access, but it does not itself define a compelling membership: visitors still need to understand the audience, benefit, and delivery format from the public offer page.

Trade-offs to check before building

Squarespace documents several structural and discoverability limits for Member Sites. Member-site pages are excluded from the site map and do not have page SEO options; each page can belong to only one member site; and course or video pages already attached to a pricing plan cannot be dragged into a member site. Review the Member Sites documentation when planning page structure.

These limits matter most when you expect gated pages themselves to attract search traffic or when you need to reuse the same page across multiple member areas. Consider which information should remain public for discovery and sign-up, and which material belongs behind the paywall. If the required access rules or organization do not fit the documented native setup, assess a third-party membership tool rather than assuming every example uses the same implementation.

How to evaluate an example before borrowing its approach

  • Identify the audience: Is the membership for creators, professionals, learners, practitioners, families, or a local or interest community?
  • Name the member benefit: Look for a clear description of what members gain, rather than inferring value from the site’s visual design.
  • Check delivery: Determine whether the offer is based on on-demand content, live sessions, downloads, events, community access, or a combination.
  • Follow the sign-up path: Check what a visitor can learn before joining and whether the public page explains access and membership terms.
  • Verify current details: Offers, pricing, availability, and membership technology can change. Check the live site before copying a specific tier or assuming a native Squarespace setup.
