There is no independently verified, definitive ranking of the best generative engine optimization (GEO) agencies for U.S. brands. The 13 firms below are a practical shortlist based on a vendor-authored 2026 comparison: their stated strengths vary, and the comparison’s ordering is not proof that one agency will outperform another for your business.

Use the profiles to identify candidates, then ask each one to specify its engines, work, measurement method, evidence and fees before you compare proposals.

What a GEO agency does—and what it cannot promise

A GEO agency aims to improve the likelihood that a brand’s content or reputation appears, is cited, or is recommended in AI-generated answers. Depending on the engagement, work may include making a site accessible to crawlers, improving consistency of brand and entity information, structured data, answer-oriented content, digital PR or citation development, and tracking visibility across selected engines.

These services are not standardized. “AI visibility” can refer to different things: a brand mention, a link to a brand’s page, a citation used to support an answer, a referral visit, or a business outcome. None is interchangeable with the others.

#1 Best Overall

A 2026 critical survey reviewed 45 studies published in its stated 2023–July 2026 window and found that GEO terms, metrics and evidence standards remain heterogeneous. Its authors concluded: “Within this corpus, the evidence is narrow: already-retrieved content can causally alter its citation or use, but no reviewed technique shows a stable, longitudinal, cross-platform causal effect on organic discoverability or downstream behavior.” That is a reason to treat guarantees of citations, rankings, leads or revenue with caution.

13 GEO agencies to consider

The profiles below reflect positioning and claims reported in Skyfield Digital’s October 1, 2026 comparison, which ranks Skyfield first and is commercially interested in the category. Descriptions, case-study claims and prices are attributed to that comparison; they are not independent audits or endorsements. Treat the list as a starting point, not a universal ranking.

Agency Reported fit or focus Evidence or pricing reported in the comparison
Skyfield Digital Growth-stage and mid-market brands seeking combined SEO and GEO, entity and schema work, citation development, and prompt-level tracking. The comparison reports a $1,000 monthly starting price and SEO growth case results. Those are publisher-reported claims, not independently verified GEO outcomes.
iPullRank Enterprise and technically oriented work, including content engineering, crawlability, digital PR and tracking. The comparison names its AI Search Manual; price is not published in the comparison.
Siege Media SaaS and consumer brands interested in original research and digital PR. The comparison reports Mentimeter ChatGPT visits and citation lifts, and a project minimum of $5,000 or more. It does not establish that the same outcomes or fee apply to every client.
Directive B2B SaaS brands seeking pipeline measurement. The comparison reports a named case involving prompt presence and demo performance; price is not published in the comparison.
Terakeet Enterprise reputation and narrative management. The comparison reports client-specific evidence of controllability; price is not published in the comparison.
WebFX Mid-market and enterprise brands looking for published pricing and platform reporting. The comparison reports tiers starting at $3,000 monthly and names OmniSEO. Confirm current scope and pricing directly.
NP Digital Enterprise and multinational brands. The comparison reports LLM referral-traffic case data and project ranges but gives no specific figures here; verify current proposal and scope.
Go Fish Digital Enterprise GEO combined with reputation management. The comparison describes a GEO scorecard and says its cited public case has no numbers; price is not published in the comparison.
Ignite Visibility Mid-market and franchise brands. The comparison reports AI visibility and placement outcomes; price is not published in the comparison.
Omniscient Digital Enterprise B2B SaaS with content-led growth. The comparison says GEO is bundled with broader services and gives project and rate signals, but no GEO-specific result.
First Page Sage B2B companies seeking content and authority work. The comparison describes a long-running GEO content library but no published GEO metrics on its service page; price is not stated in the comparison.
Single Grain Brands seeking broader media presence alongside AI SEO or LLM SEO. The comparison reports an AI citation case and describes the offering as bundled rather than standalone; price is not stated in the comparison.
Amsive Enterprises incorporating AEO, GEO or LLMO into a broader digital program. The comparison reports no public service-page proof or pricing.

How to compare agencies on the work that matters

Ask candidates to answer the same questions in writing. That makes it easier to distinguish a focused GEO engagement from a broader SEO or digital program with an AI-search label.

Rank #2

1. Which engines and surfaces are included?

Request the exact products and surfaces covered, including which Google AI surfaces and conversational products the agency tracks. Ask how it handles changes in engine versions and answer variability, and whether its coverage is limited to a defined set of prompts or queries.

2. What will the agency deliver each month?

Ask for a list of recurring work and identify what happens on your site versus elsewhere. Clarify whether the scope includes technical accessibility, entity and schema work, content changes, digital PR, citation development, or only reporting. Get the deliverables, owners, and cadence in the proposal.

3. What does “visibility” mean in its report?

Ask to see a sample report and require separate definitions for:

  • a brand mention without a link;
  • a linked citation to a page;
  • a citation used to substantiate a claim in an answer;
  • a referral session from an AI product; and
  • a conversion or other business result.

Also ask how prompts are selected, how often they are rerun, and whether you can access the underlying observations. A reported presence rate is hard to interpret without the prompt set, sampling dates, number of observations, and engine coverage.

4. Can the agency show evidence that fits your business?

For each case study, ask for the baseline, exact query or prompt set, dates, observation count, and attribution method. Distinguish measured citations or referrals from outcomes the agency attributes to its work. A study of one category or one run is not a stable benchmark for another company.

For example, Verticality’s U.S. English category study collected on September 3, 2026 covered 31 buying questions, 93 answers and 1,126 citations across 852 pages on 527 domains. Verticality says answers vary between runs and that the shares should be read as a shape rather than a stable scoreboard. This is useful context for asking about sampling, not a forecast for a particular brand.

5. What is included in the fee and contract?

Published price signals in the comparison are not like-for-like quotes: some are monthly starting points or tiers, some are project minimums, and others are absent. Ask each agency for the fee, contract length, included hours or deliverables, exclusions, and any costs for content production or digital PR. Do not infer that a reported starting price covers the same work as another agency’s package.

Why AI-search results make measurement difficult

AI answers and traditional search results do not consistently cite the same sources. Skyfield Digital’s comparison relays Orbit Media’s analysis of 13,184 citations across 1,765 answers: it reports 10% to 30% domain-level overlap between AI engines and Google’s top ten, 1% to 5% URL-level overlap for Gemini and ChatGPT, and 1.7% agreement among four engines on the same cited domain for the same question. These are figures attributed to Orbit Media through the comparison; the comparison does not independently establish the underlying dataset here.

The same comparison relays Seer Interactive figures of a 61% organic click-through-rate decline on informational queries with AI Overviews since mid-2024 and 35% more organic clicks for brands cited inside AI Overviews than for uncited brands. Those claims have defined scopes and are not guarantees that citations cause more clicks for every business.

Resonate Labs’ GEO White Paper v5.0, updated October 6, 2026, says earlier editions repeated some widely circulated statistics that were misattributed and that its latest edition traces statistics to primary sources. When an agency uses a striking industry number to sell a program, ask for the original study, its population and dates, and whether the statistic measures visibility, traffic or business impact.

A practical selection process

  1. Define the business need. Decide whether the priority is technical access, content, reputation, digital PR, local or franchise visibility, or enterprise-wide measurement.
  2. Choose a comparable prompt set. Build prompts around the products, services and questions that matter to your customers. Ask each finalist to explain how it would sample them and account for run-to-run variation.
  3. Send the same scope to finalists. Require engine coverage, on- and off-site deliverables, reporting cadence, definitions of success, fees, contract terms and exclusions.
  4. Review proof before signing. Compare case studies using their baselines, sampling dates, prompt sets, observation counts and attribution methods—not just headline percentage changes.
  5. Set a review point. Agree on what will be evaluated and when, while separating leading indicators such as mentions or citations from referral visits and business outcomes.

Choose the agency whose proposed work, measurement and evidence match your specific need—not simply the highest-ranked name in a vendor-authored list.
