Colorlib’s roundup, dated September 25, 2026, presents 12 free HTML cart and checkout templates. The publisher says they work standalone or inside Bootstrap 4, 5 or 6 projects, and it does not include Bootstrap itself. Treat the roundup as a shortlist of layouts. The behaviour of each template is the publisher’s description of its demo, so verify it before you build on it.

What the roundup covers

According to Colorlib, the 12 templates span these jobs:

  • Classic cart pages and minimal bags
  • Mini-cart dropdowns and mobile carts
  • One-page and multi-step checkouts, including payment forms
  • Order confirmation pages
  • Carts styled for boutique, grocery and digital-product stores

Open each demo and confirm which of these jobs it actually covers. The roundup describes the set as a whole, so it does not establish that every template includes every element listed.

What “Bootstrap-ready” means in practice

Bootstrap-ready is a compatibility claim, not a bundle. The templates are written in plain HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript, so the Bootstrap grid and components appear only when your project loads a Bootstrap version. Two practical consequences follow:

  • Load the Bootstrap version you target before you copy the markup. Colorlib names versions 4, 5 and 6; it does not mention Bootstrap 3.
  • Check that the template’s class names match the version you load. A Bootstrap 4 project and a Bootstrap 5 project use some different class names, so a template that looks correct in one may need small markup edits in the other.

What the demos are claimed to do

Colorlib says its demos handle the following cart interactions:

  • Quantity changes that update line totals and the cart total
  • Coupon application
  • Removing items
  • An empty-cart state
  • Shipping and tax reflected in totals

These are descriptions of the demos, not results from independent testing. A coupon field that accepts input shows you the layout and the front-end script. It does not show that a coupon code is valid, that it is stored, or that the discount is calculated correctly against your prices.

A visual template also does not supply a commerce backend. Payment processing, inventory, tax rules, shipping rates and server-side cart state must come from your own server or a commerce service. The roundup does not claim otherwise, and you should not assume those capabilities from a demo.

Alternatives with Bootstrap 5 cart pages

If the roundup’s templates do not fit, these providers offer Bootstrap 5 cart or checkout pages. Each has a different setup requirement.

MDBootstrap GitHub examples

MDBootstrap’s public GitHub repository includes several responsive cart examples built with Bootstrap 5. Its usage steps say to download the MDB 5 Free UI Kit and copy the example you choose into an MDB project. This is not a self-contained snippet: the example depends on the MDB kit.

MDBootstrap e-commerce template page

The e-commerce template page describes Bootstrap 5 examples for product, cart and checkout pages. It states that you need the MDB Free UI Kit, and it labels the license MIT.

Bootstrap eCommerce

Bootstrap eCommerce describes a free set of responsive Bootstrap 5 pages, including shopping cart and checkout pages, built with HTML, CSS and pure JavaScript. It states the templates are MIT licensed for personal and commercial projects. Read the license file inside the download itself, since provider terms can change after publication.

Start Bootstrap e-commerce layouts

Start Bootstrap’s e-commerce category offers free Bootstrap 5 layouts, including a shop homepage and a shop item template. These suit the storefront pages around a cart. The category description does not establish a dedicated cart collection, so check the download before planning around one.

Before you adopt a template

  • Open the license file in the download before any commercial use.
  • Load the Bootstrap version you target, then test the cart at both mobile and desktop widths.
  • Test quantity changes, coupon entry, item removal and the empty-cart state with your own product data.
  • Move shipping, tax and discount calculation to server-side code you control, rather than trusting the demo’s script.
  • Connect a real payment provider, and confirm that orders and order confirmations are recorded on the server.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use these templates with Bootstrap 3?

Colorlib names Bootstrap 4, 5 and 6 only, and does not mention Bootstrap 3. Test any template in a Bootstrap 3 project before relying on it.

The Bottom Line

Use Colorlib’s roundup to choose a layout for the job you need. The Bootstrap compatibility and cart behaviour are the publisher’s claims. Your Bootstrap version, the license file in the download and a backend you control decide whether a template is usable in production.
