The best Android calculator depends on the work you need to do. Samsung Calculator is enough for everyday arithmetic and unit conversions, while HiPER, RealCalc, and GeoGebra are better suited to science, engineering, statistics, or graphing. If you want a calculator on the Home screen, check the Android widget picker on your own phone rather than trusting an old compatibility list.

This comparison covers 12 free or free-to-install Android calculator apps. Feature and Play Store details were checked on August 7, 2026. Some apps offer paid upgrades, advertising, or separate editions.

Quick comparison

App Best for Important limitation or note
Samsung Calculator Everyday calculations, conversions, and basic engineering functions Primarily useful on Samsung Galaxy devices; reinstall through Galaxy Store if removed

Calculator by Simple Mobile Tools Users seeking a lightweight alternative Check the current publisher, listing, permissions, and widget availability
All-in-One Calculator Users wanting several calculation categories in one app Verify current features and advertising in Google Play before downloading

The first seven entries have current first-party Google Play or manufacturer documentation behind the details below. The final five are included because they commonly appear in Android calculator roundups, but current widget and offline-support claims were not confirmed from a current first-party record. That distinction matters: app features and availability can change.

Google Play lists package com.sec.android.app.popupcalculator, 1B+ downloads, a 4.5-star rating, and an update dated March 31, 2025. Its current Data Safety declaration says no data is shared with third parties and no data is collected. If you uninstall it, Samsung says to reinstall it through the Galaxy Store.

2. HiPER Scientific Calculator

HiPER is the strongest option here for users who need more than trigonometry and percentages. Its Play listing documents symbolic algebra, systems of equations, derivatives, integrals, 2D and 3D graphs, matrices, vectors, statistics, regression, complex numbers, and binary, octal, and hexadecimal modes.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

It also supports bitwise operations, reverse Polish notation, more than 90 physical constants, conversion between 250 units, up to 100 significant digits, and ten extended memory registers. The layouts are called pocket, compact, and expanded, so you can trade screen space for larger keys or more functions.

HiPER is free to install but Google Play labels it Contains ads. Recent feedback also indicates that the current interface may not match older promotional screenshots. Its package name is cz.hipercalc, and the current listing shows an August 3, 2026 update. The Data Safety section says it may share device or other IDs with third parties while declaring no data collected.

3. RealCalc Scientific Calculator

RealCalc is designed to look and behave like a physical scientific calculator. It supports traditional algebraic entry as well as RPN, unit conversions, physical constants, percentages, result history, and ten memories.

Scientific and technical users can enable binary, octal, and hexadecimal calculations through Settings. The app also supports degrees, radians, and grads, plus scientific, engineering, and fixed-point display modes. External keyboard support is useful if you are entering repeated calculations on a tablet or Chromebook.

One frequently repeated claim needs correcting: the free RealCalc edition does not include a Home-screen widget. Google Play lists the widget under RealCalc Plus, the paid edition. Plus also adds fractions, degrees/minutes/seconds, landscape mode, a 12-digit display, 32-digit internal precision, customizable conversions and constants, and multi-window drag-and-drop.

The free package is uk.co.nickfines.RealCalc. Its current Play listing shows an August 22, 2025 update and declares no data shared with third parties and no data collected.

Rank #2
Casio FX-115ESPLSB-WA-IT Scientific Calculator
  • Advanced scientific calculator with Natural Textbook Display showing expressions exactly as in textbooks.

4. GeoGebra Scientific Calculator

GeoGebra Scientific Calculator is aimed at students and teachers who need fractions, trigonometry, statistics, exponentials, and logarithms without the full complexity of a graphing or computer-algebra system. It also includes an exam mode that turns a phone or tablet into a more focused handheld-calculator interface.

The July 27, 2026 update added the ability to create a table of values for functions. A current user report says the app can feel limited compared with HiPER and that some symbols or input behavior are difficult to understand. Treat that as a usability warning rather than a documented defect.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

This is a separate app from GeoGebra Graphing Calculator and GeoGebra CAS Calculator. Its package is org.geogebra.android.scicalc. Google Play says it does not share data with third parties, may collect app activity and app information/performance, and says collected data cannot be deleted.

5. GeoGebra Graphing Calculator

Choose this version when visualizing a function matters more than having a traditional keypad. It can plot ordinary, polar, and parametric curves; use sliders to explore transformations; identify roots, minima, maxima, and intersections; and calculate regressions with best-fit lines.

It also supports tables and statistics. The July 27, 2026 release notes say users can enter data easily into a table and calculate statistics. Results can be saved and shared.

Do not install this app expecting the full symbolic toolkit. The Play listing directs users who need equations, derivatives, and integrals to the separate CAS Calculator app. A reported edge case involves in-app help failing while a VPN was enabled; disabling the VPN was identified as the workaround in that report.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The package is org.geogebra.android. Its Data Safety declaration says it may share app activity with third parties and may collect personal info, files and documents, and app information/performance.

6. GeoGebra CAS Calculator

GeoGebra CAS is the appropriate GeoGebra app for symbolic mathematics. It combines function graphing with equation solving, roots, minima, maxima, intersections, derivatives, integrals, and regression.

It is not simply another name for the Scientific Calculator. Google Play lists a separate package, org.geogebra.android.cascalc, and a separate app entry. The current listing also mentions table-based data entry and statistics.

Casio FX-300ESPLSBPKWAIT Scientific Calculator, Pink
  • Natural Textbook Display presents formulas and results exactly as written in textbooks for intuitive learning.

Saving and account access are the main caution. Repeated user feedback describes difficulty signing in or saving work, including reduced offline-saving capability in some circumstances. If a calculation is important, export or record it rather than relying on an unsynchronized session.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

7. ClevCalc – Calculator

ClevCalc is a general-purpose calculator collection rather than a specialist mathematics environment. Its current listing covers basic arithmetic, square roots, parentheses, percentages, trigonometric functions, exponentials, and logarithms. Version 2.19.0 added a dedicated Percentage Calculator and an option to purchase a no-ads version.

The app includes in-app purchases. A recent review reports that ads loaded content and blocked calculator use. That is a reported failure mode, not evidence that every installation behaves that way, but it is worth considering if you need a calculator during work or exams.

The package name is com.dencreak.dlcalculator. ClevCalc is a reasonable choice for quick household, shopping, tax, tip, and percentage calculations, but HiPER or RealCalc is a better fit for sustained scientific work.

8. Google Calculator

Google Calculator is a familiar option on Android phones that include it or offer it through Google Play. It is best considered for straightforward arithmetic rather than as a replacement for a full scientific, graphing, or CAS application.

Current widget availability, offline behavior, and device compatibility were not independently confirmed in the available first-party evidence for this comparison. Check the installed phone’s widget picker and the current Google Play entry before relying on it as a Home-screen tool.

9. Calculator++

Calculator++ is another name often included in lists of free Android calculators. It may appeal to users who want a third-party alternative to a manufacturer’s built-in app, but current widget support and offline behavior were not independently verified here.

Before installing, inspect the current Play Store page for the publisher, update date, permissions, advertising, and Data Safety declaration. Also test whether it handles the notation you use, particularly implied multiplication, negative exponents, and trigonometric angle modes.

10. CalcES

CalcES is commonly mentioned as an Android calculator option for users comparing scientific calculators. Its presence in a roundup should not be treated as confirmation that a widget is currently available or that all functions work offline.

Rank #4
Casio FX-300MSB-W-IT Scientific Calculator
  • Classic two-line scientific calculator with dependable performance for everyday math tasks.

If you are considering it, verify the current listing and perform a small test set after installation: parentheses, percentages, powers, logarithms, and degrees-versus-radians calculations. Those checks catch more practical problems than a long feature list.

11. Calculator by Simple Mobile Tools

This is a name associated with lightweight Android utility software and is often recommended when users prefer a less elaborate calculator. However, the current widget, offline, advertising, and maintenance details were not independently confirmed for this article.

Check the exact publisher and package shown in Google Play. Android can contain similarly named apps, and the name alone is not enough to identify a current, trustworthy listing.

12. All-in-One Calculator

All-in-One Calculator is intended for people who want several everyday calculation categories in one place. Because the available evidence did not independently confirm its current feature set, widget support, or offline behavior, treat it as an app to evaluate rather than a guaranteed recommendation.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Pay particular attention to whether its calculators cover the categories you actually need, such as loan payments, unit conversion, percentages, dates, or construction measurements. Also check advertising and in-app purchase details before making it your default.

How to add a calculator widget on Android

Widget support is app-specific and launcher-specific. The general Android procedure is:

  1. Long-press an empty area of the Home screen.
  2. Tap Widgets.
  3. Find the calculator app in the widget list.
  4. Long-press the available widget and drag it to the Home screen.
  5. Position or resize it, then release it.

The labels can differ on Samsung, Pixel, Motorola, and third-party launchers. If the app does not appear in the widget picker, it does not currently expose a widget to that launcher. Do not assume that an app named in an online “calculator widgets” list still has an interactive widget.

RealCalc is a specific example: the free edition does not include the Home-screen widget; that feature belongs to RealCalc Plus. Widget claims for Google Calculator, Samsung Calculator, Calculator++, ClevCalc, and Simple Calculator were not confirmed from current first-party listings in the available research, so check the installed device.
