007 First Light’s free Extended Operations update adds New Game+, Photo Mode, an unlockable “00” difficulty, new TacSim content and weapon-handling refinements. IO Interactive released Update 1.3.0 on October 1, 2026; the developer calls it the game’s first major free DLC.
What’s in the free 007 First Light update?
IO Interactive’s Update 1.3.0, named Extended Operations, launched at 12:00 UTC / 14:00 CEST on October 1, 2026. It is free content for the base game, not a separately identified paid expansion. The official patch notes list these additions and changes:
- New Game+: Replay the campaign after completing it.
- Photo Mode: Create and frame in-game shots.
- “00” difficulty: An unlockable, more demanding setting.
- TacSim content: Jungle Heist returns to The Pearl in Vietnam, and Valhalla Protocol joins the named additions.
- Weapon handling: Refined animations across the arsenal.
- Fixes and improvements: IO Interactive reports more than 700, covering issues such as crashes, progression blockers, clipping, audio, localization and UI polish. That figure is the developer’s count, not an independently audited total.
TechRadar reports that Valhalla Protocol includes a driving activity in Slovakia featuring the Aston Martin Valhalla. IO Interactive describes the activity as a chance to drive an armed Bond car equipped with machine guns and missile launchers; that description is the developer’s wording reproduced by TechRadar’s October 1, 2026 report.

New Game+
Finish the entire campaign to unlock New Game+. During the replay, you can change outfits through the journal and switch among gadgets already unlocked at that point in the story. The gadget selection therefore follows story progression rather than granting every gadget from the outset.

“00” difficulty
Complete the campaign to unlock “00” difficulty. Enemies detect Bond faster and hit harder, while gadget resources restore only a fraction of their use. It is designed as an added challenge, not simply a cosmetic option.
How large is the Update 1.3.0 download?
IO Interactive’s October 1, 2026 patch notes list these download sizes. Updates can change size later, so treat the figures as the launch patch sizes published for that date.

Where can you play 007 First Light?
IO Interactive’s platform and requirements page lists PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store, with a May 27, 2026 release date. It lists Nintendo Switch 2 for March 2027; that is a future date according to the page, not a confirmation that the game is already available on Switch 2.
For PC, the listed minimums include Windows 10/11 64-bit, 16 GB RAM, an SSD and 80 GB available storage, alongside CPU and GPU requirements on the support page. The page says the full main campaign can be played offline after a one-time connection to download the Day 1 patch. That statement does not establish offline availability for every feature added in Extended Operations.

What you need to buy
Extended Operations is free, but the base game is sold separately. The update does not have paid tiers. Game editions are purchase options for the base game, not different versions of the update. The official edition comparison notes physical extras for collector-focused editions, but those items are not required to access this content.
IO Interactive’s Year One notice describes planned future game content and warns that plans may change; it does not provide confirmed pricing or detailed timing for each planned item. Those plans are separate from the released free update.
