Whether Zipline can deliver to you is an address-level question. Check your location in the Zipline app, because service areas and menus change. Zipline describes Platform 2 as a home-delivery aircraft with an 8-pound payload, a 10-mile service radius and a tethered “Delivery Zip” that lowers the order from as high as 300 feet. Those aircraft figures are not a universal consumer order limit. Your app determines which products, quantities and delivery locations are actually available.
Does Zipline deliver to my address?
Open the Zipline app, enter your delivery address and follow the enrollment or ordering flow. The app is the practical authority for a specific home: it reflects the current launch footprint, local operating restrictions, delivery-site eligibility and merchant catalog. A citywide announcement does not mean every address in that city can order.
Austin: dated First Flight access
Zipline’s October 2026 Austin announcement describes a First Flight early-access launch beginning in Round Rock and expanding through Austin as availability grows. The announcement says the launch was intended for the first 5,000 residents who registered in the app. Treat that as a launch-period snapshot, not a continuing guarantee that the offer or capacity remains open.
Houston: select residents first
Zipline also announced a Houston First Flight program for select eligible residents, initially limited to 5,000 eligible Houstonians. Eligibility and enrollment can change, so use the current in-app address check rather than relying on the original cap.

Dallas–Fort Worth and other markets
The Houston announcement said Zipline had operated in more than 20 municipalities across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex during the preceding year. That is a company-reported operating footprint, not a current address map or a promise that every municipality remains active.
Why an FAA proposal is not proof of service
The FAA environmental-review database includes proposed operations and draft material for Seattle and Texas metropolitan areas, along with completed reviews. A proposal or draft environmental assessment describes a possible or evaluated operation; it does not establish that customers can place orders there today. For a customer decision, confirm both the live Zipline app result and a current local launch notice.

What can I order through Zipline?
Zipline says customers order through its app and choose from a changing local catalog. Depending on the market, the catalog can include restaurant, grocery, retail or healthcare items supplied by participating merchants. The exact selection, stock, quantity limits and delivery locations are location- and time-sensitive.

Why the menu differs by address
- Each market has its own participating merchants and inventory.
- Weather, airspace restrictions, operating hours and temporary capacity can remove products or delivery windows.
- The app may restrict an item because of its size, weight, packaging, temperature requirements or handling rules.
- A product shown in a neighboring ZIP code may not be offered to your address.
There is no published universal consumer-facing table of allowed package dimensions or a definitive checkout weight. The products and constraints presented after you enter your address are the reliable answer for that order.
How much weight can a Zipline drone carry?
Zipline’s Platform 2 fact sheet lists an 8-pound payload, a 10-mile service radius and tethered delivery from up to 300 feet above ground. A separate 2023 Platform 2 announcement describes a 6–8-pound payload for out-and-back missions from one dock and separately discusses dock-to-dock flight options. These figures describe aircraft or mission configurations; they do not establish that a customer can combine any products up to exactly 8 pounds.

Payload is not the same as your order limit
Aircraft payload includes the package and any delivery hardware the operator counts in its specification. A checkout system can impose a lower practical limit because of product dimensions, center of gravity, fragile or liquid contents, temperature control, merchant packaging or the chosen flight profile. Conversely, several small products may fit differently from one bulky product even when their combined weight is similar. Let the app’s eligibility and checkout validation decide.

No universal size chart is published
The reviewed Zipline materials do not provide a single customer-facing maximum length, width, height or volume. Do not infer a dimension limit from the 8-pound number, and do not assume that an item is eligible merely because it weighs less than that figure.

How does the package get to my yard?
- Choose a delivery location in the app. The service uses the address and the precise location you select, such as a yard or another permitted drop area.
- The aircraft travels to the delivery area. Zipline describes Platform 2 as remaining aloft rather than landing at your home.
- A tethered Delivery Zip descends. The autonomous Delivery Zip lowers the package on a tether and maneuvers it to the selected location.
- The package is released at ground level. Wait until it has been fully lowered and the Delivery Zip has completely cleared the area before approaching.
- The aircraft departs. The app may provide additional instructions or restrictions for that delivery.
Zipline attributes precise yard placement and performance characteristics to its Platform 2 system. Those are the company’s descriptions; they should not be read as an independently verified guarantee of exact placement, noise level or delivery time at every property.
What should I do before and during a delivery?
Zipline’s consumer terms provide the clearest customer instructions. They state: “You agree to clear your delivery location of any people, pets, or other obstacles during delivery and stay at least six (6) feet from the delivery area until the delivery is complete.” The same section says: “You agree not to touch, nor to allow or cause other people, pets, or objects to touch, the package containing the Products until it has been fully lowered to the ground and the Delivery Zip has fully cleared the delivery area.”

Prepare the drop zone
- Choose an open location shown or approved in the app.
- Remove people, pets, toys, furniture, vehicles and other obstacles.
- Keep everyone at least six feet away until the app or delivery process indicates completion.
- Do not stand beneath, reach toward or try to catch the descending hardware.
Wait for a complete clearance
Even when the package appears to be on the ground, the tethered Delivery Zip may still be moving. Do not touch the package, tether or aircraft until the package is fully lowered and the Delivery Zip has cleared the delivery area. Follow any extra instruction displayed in the app or supplied by Zipline.
If the location becomes unsafe
Keep people and pets away and follow the app’s directions. Do not attempt to move the package, grab the Delivery Zip or interfere with the aircraft. If an obstacle, person or animal enters the zone, prioritize distance and the operator’s instructions over retrieving the order immediately.

Zipline’s safety page says its aircraft use autonomous navigation to avoid obstacles, other aircraft and unsafe landing areas. The company also says it operates with FAA approval and works with local governments. These statements describe Zipline’s system and operating approach; they are not a claim that incidents are impossible or that every individual delivery has zero risk.

The enforceable customer-facing safety measure is your behavior around the delivery: clear the area, maintain six feet of distance and do not touch the package or Delivery Zip until the lowering and clearance sequence is complete. Zipline’s terms warn that failing to follow those instructions may cause serious bodily injury or property damage.

Platform 1 versus Platform 2: which one serves homes?
Platform 2 is the home-delivery aircraft described with the 8-pound payload, 10-mile radius and tethered Delivery Zip. Platform 1 is listed with a 4-pound payload and long-range enterprise, business and government deliveries. Seeing a Platform 1 specification does not tell you what a residential Platform 2 order can contain, and seeing Platform 2’s payload does not establish the limits of an enterprise mission.
What delivery limits should I expect?
- Coverage: service may stop at a street, neighborhood or municipal boundary even when a nearby address is eligible.
- Catalog: products and quantities can change as merchants, inventory and operating conditions change.
- Mission profile: the 6–8-pound out-and-back figure and the 8-pound fact-sheet payload describe configurations, not one guaranteed household allowance.
- Dimensions: no universal public consumer size chart is provided in the cited materials.
- Timing: company-wide speed or delivery totals do not predict the arrival time for your individual order.
- Weather and airspace: conditions or restrictions may delay, cancel or limit a delivery even after an order is accepted.
A practical checklist for your first order
- Install or open the current Zipline app.
- Enter the exact delivery address and check whether enrollment or ordering is offered.
- Review the local merchant catalog rather than assuming a menu from another city applies.
- Confirm that each item passes the app’s quantity, product and delivery-location checks.
- Select an open drop zone and remove people, pets and obstacles before dispatch.
- Keep everyone at least six feet away while the Delivery Zip descends and until it has cleared.
- Retrieve the package only after it is fully lowered and the hardware has left the area.
What to do when your address or order is rejected
Your address is not eligible
Recheck the address formatting and the precise location marker in the app. If the app still declines it, the market may not be live for your property, may have reached a capacity limit or may exclude that site because of local operating constraints. A nearby launch announcement or FAA proposal cannot override the app’s current result.

An item disappears or cannot be added
Assume the restriction is current and location-specific. Check the item’s quantity, packaging and delivery window, then try another eligible product or a later time if the app offers one. Do not estimate eligibility from the aircraft payload alone.
The drop zone is blocked
Clear the area before the flight reaches your property. If it cannot be made safe, follow the in-app support or cancellation instructions instead of approaching the aircraft or attempting to redirect the package yourself.
Bottom line for 2026
Zipline availability is local, enrollment can be limited and the catalog changes. Use the app for the definitive answer about your address and order. Treat the 8-pound Platform 2 payload, 10-mile radius and 6–8-pound out-and-back description as aircraft and mission specifications—not a promise that every customer can order that much. During delivery, clear the zone, stay six feet away and wait for the package and Delivery Zip to finish the entire lowering and clearance sequence.
